Reborn For Revenge: Mr. Smith Can You Handle it? - Chapter 21
With an ear splitting screech, Sherry parked her car inside the underground parking lot of the Capital hospital.
She stopped the car engine and soon, it stopped vibrating. Sherry looked at her watch and saw that it only took her around 7 minutes to reach the hospital.
‘I am a terrific driver, pheww..’ She let out a sigh and walked out of the car holding her bag securely.
She rushed straight out of the parking lot and waited for the elevator at the bottom floor.
Feeling a bit impatient, she knocked on the floor with her feet. Her sandal produced a rhythmic sound on the floor which clearly showed her irritation.
‘Is the elevator stuck somewhere? Why isn’t it moving?’ She refrained herself from rolling her eyes.
“Damn it!” She gritted her teeth and went straight towards the staircase when her patience reached its limit.
“Hello Dr.Sherry.” The janitor lady who was moping the marble floor bowed down to her and greeted her. “Good evening!”
“Hello madam Sidney.” Sherry paused for a while to greet her back and started off on her destination to the fifth floor.
“She seems to be in quite a hurry..Hahahah..” The janitor lady let out a laugh and looked at the back of Sherry.
“Such energy..good to be young.” She commented with an amused smile on her face and after she lost the sight of Sherry she continued doing her own work of moping the marble floor clean.
“Good to see you Dr. Sherry!” One of the student who was doing intern in the hospital saw Sherry coming up from the stairs and stopped to greet her with a smile.
“Hi, leaving already?” Sherry saw him carrying his bag and walking with a tired expression on his face.
“Haha, yes..” The intern doctor laughed scratching his head and nodded at what Sherry said.
“Good job. You did well.” Sherry came near him and patted his shoulder like a proud teacher.
After waving him goodbye, Sherry ran upstairs to the third floor. The intern doctor watched her run like her depended on it, while he thought he was forgetting something really important related to Sherry.
‘What was it?’ he tried to remember but he was too beat up and exhausted to even think straight.
After looking at her back for a while, he turned away and started walking downstairs.
.
“Finally!” Sherry gasped for breathe after reaching the fifth floor, where her working office was located.
As she was about to enter the office, a man in a spiky hair and black rimmed glasses, looking as snarky as he could be appeared from the office just next to her.
“Oh yah..Isn’t it the youngest doctor we have ever had?!” He spoke with disdain looking at Sherry through his thick lensed glass.
“You seem to be late today, uhh huh?”
The way he looked at her and the way he spoke clearly showed his hatred towards Sherry.
“Hello, Mr. Pumpkins!” Sherry turned around and greeted him with a smile. She totally ignored his unfriendly remarks.
“…..”, The vein in the man’s face twitched and his expression turned dark.
“It’s Mr. Hopkins for you, little lady.” He stood straight in a gentlemanly posture and corrected her.
“Sorry Mr. Pumpkins, I don’t have time to amuse you today.’ Sherry shouted out loud before she entered the office and shut the door right on his face.
“Y-Y-You..” Mr. Hopkins stared at the locked door with a speechless face as he tried to collect himself back from the shock of being ignored like that.
“We will see someday, little lady.” He gave a slight humph and walked back to his office. He closed the door right behind him and on the name plate of the door, in large handwriting his Post and name in the hospital was written.
“Assistant Neurosurgeon- Dr. Ramsay Hopkins!”
“She is too arrogant for her age!” The man cursed when he went inside his office.
“But wait a minute…” He remembered something and he quickly checked his memo to clear the itchy feeling in his heart.
He quickly found his notebook and when he saw the top most notice there, he let out a surprised gasp.
‘Isn’t Dr. Sherry supposed to be on leave today?’ He thought looking at her application for leave that was still on his desk.
After getting approval from the hospital director, he was given the letter by the director himself as Dr. Sherry had already left the work the day before early in the noon saying she had something important to do.
“Holy Fuck!” He exclaimed out in surprise. “Isn’t she supposed to be getting married today?”
.
“Why did I have to meet him when I am about to go in to an important surgery?” Sherry shook her head in disdain.
She quickly cleared off her head and went to her locker. After sanitizing her hands and arms, she took out the surgical gowns and put them on in a few seconds.
She did not even bother taking off the t-shirt she was wearing underneath.
She put her white doctor apron on and after putting on her stethoscope she walked out of her office towards the Emergency Room where her patient was waiting for her.
She herself did not have any idea on who the patient was, but she knew she could pull off even the most serious case as long as the patient had a will to live and the doctors on her team did not give up.
She opened the door of the ER with a hurried movements and walked towards the VIP rooms at the B block of the hospital where VIP patients were kept.
As for the A block, it was mainly filled with patients who could not afford a room from themselves and had to share it with more than three or four patients.
Sherry would have loved to go and check it out but her priority was the patient currently at room no 202.
“It will be fine.” She calmed her self down and entered the room.
“Dr. Sherry is here! Oh my god! Finally!’ The old nurse, Mrs. Tannu was the first to hear the door opening with a creaking sound.
She raised her head from where she was and noticed Dr. Sherry’s face which was out of breathe and a little flushed due to the heat.
Dr. Thomas too turned around from what he was doing right on time to see Dr. Sherry entering with a pair of gloves on her hand and a mask on her face.
‘Ohohoho…Professional ethics. Good.’ He was a little impressed when he saw her.
“Good to see you here, Dr. Sherry.” Dr. Thomas greeted her as soon as she was near to the bed where the patient was lying.
“Good evening doctor!” She greeted the elderly man in front of her.
Sherry looked around and only say doctors from gyno departments!!
Wait? Did I enter the wrong room? Sherry was caught in a moment of panic when she thought she had entered the wrong room. She even had the urge to go and check the room number.
As if knowing what she was thinking, Dr. Thomas explained what was happening.
“So, you mean, even after aborting the baby, there still seems to be some kind of problem with her and she happens to be my patient?” Sherry briefly accounted what she understood from Dr. Thomas’s quick explanation.
“Yes, and her name happens to be..” Sherry looked at the report file of the patient and her eyes widened in shock when she saw the name.
“Bella Cath?!”
