Reborn In A Harry Potter Universe - 2 New Life
Slide’s POV:
“Hahahahahaha *puking blood*, I survived, suck on that a**hole. Arghhh everything hurts, why did this go wrong? What was I close to finding out?” I asked myself these questions as I stood up slowly and walked out the building using the side entrance/ exit.” I can’t use my credit card, bank account etc. anymoreThe only thing I have on me is cash and it’s not much. I guess I’m dead in the books. “Urgggg, better take care of that wound before I pass out.”
I lived on the streets for five years. During those years, I had gone from being above average rich due to my eCommerce business to piss poor individual who did not know when he was going to eat.
The first year was the most miserable years of my life and that was saying something, considering that I grew up mostly isolated from most people due to my social awkwardness and hobbies and I had to somehow take care of my injuries with no identity and as you can imagine it was quite difficult. I somehow managed to find an underground doctor to treat me by selling off a few unneeded organs. Thinking about it now, I did not know how I survived then. Everything was blurry and I was in pain when I met the doctor and agreed to sell the organs so I didn’t know which ones I sold off. Thank god, I sold some unimportant organ that I did not need right now. If my body absolutely needed the organ I sold I would have sold my life away without reaping the benefits.
It was a few months after the surgery, (I have scars to show) that I understood, the law of the jungle was never abandoned by humanity, we just found another way to apply it. I found out the hard way.
Some things to understand when living as a homeless person was that, never let your guard down and always be aware. Because you never know when someone is watching you. I got that really quick when I woke up one morning with most of my belongings gone and a note with a smiley face on it. Since then, I had become a light sleeper. Any noise 20 meters away from me was enough to wake me.
During those months, I had managed to find a lightly used face mask, some broken glasses that could work if glued properly and some shabby helmet looking thingy in a hospital bin to mask my face. I didn’t want to take any chances even though people who knew me wouldn’t be able to recognize with how dirty looking I was.
I also had to find out how to survive on the streets, living with nature. I learnt by asking other homeless people and through luck, I had managed to find someone to teach me that and a whole lot more with the price of not quitting until the end also some daily tributes such as food. I could tell with my “supernatural senses” that he was unnatural, with how he moved himself. I even thought he was a spy from another country. That thought process quickly died when I asked him about it and he replied “who would I would be spying on in this location. Unless you did something interesting that would need someone to spy on you.”
“Hahahaha” I laughed nervously
“I’m just a hunter” with that statement, the conversation ended.
From him, I learnt how to survive anywhere using few resources on hand and on land. I had also gotten rudimentary training in mixed martial arts, “I don’t know how I survived that” though it wasn’t useful at the time. I thought it would be useful and cool to know about it. He also gave me good advises and through him that I understood that my death was inconsequential and that they didn’t want to really kill me, just scare me enough that I would stop what I was researching and quit my investigations. Unfortunately, he died before he could finish teaching me everything so I had to teach myself the rest,
I had thought of revenge during those times and how would torture Lanly and ruin whatever company he was working for. I also understood from a perspective that it was a job. So, no hard feelings. “Heh, you thought” I quelled down my thirst on revenge after a while when I recognized that it would be more trouble than it’s worth and besides, I’m was alive.
Some years later.
Two years passed since then and I am living the life. I became a changed man both figuratively and literally. I managed to get myself a new identity with a new face and because of the old man I met, I had become slightly obsessed with martial arts and becoming a learned person. I also became more obsessed with anime and manga, living all the supernatural and paranormal behind since I’d became traumatized with it nearly leading to my death and no knows more than me on the subject.
I had a goal of preventing that so, I learnt all I could while I could because, I believed they could find me again if they wanted to and I wanted to prevent that.
Living in a basement as a janitor was beneficial to maintaining my schedule of learning ‘all I can when I can’. The landlady was nice enough to give me a place to work even with my suspicious identity when I approached her after seeing a flier on a pole of a street light.
“Boss lady, why did you let me work here?” I asked her one day. She replied “You remind me of someone I know and have been gone for a while.”
The people in the complex didn’t need me most of the time so I had a lot of free time to play with. Though most of my time were spent on training and on the internet, arguing like a professional otaku, it was an enjoyable time and I enjoyed while it lasted.
