Reborn Into Stargate - Volume 1 Chapter 4 Time Skip
It has been about three months since I came into the Stargate franchise. I already assimilated the gate addresses and the asuran stunner technology. I hoped that the gate addresses would be a big help but that really wasn’t the case. The information that I gained was only the planets name in Ancient and the address. I had no other information about the planet. But it isn’t all bad because now I knew the location of a place that I didn’t know if it was cannon or not in this universe. Though I am not exactly sure what there is exactly at this place, I know it exists and can make my life so much easier. I am not ready to check the place out yet because of my limited knowledge and resources so I will just give you guys (who am I talking to again???) a hint…. it is a hub of sorts… Maybe some of you guys know exactly what I am talking about, maybe you don’t. It doesn’t quite matter at the moment. You will all find out when the time comes.
Now, it has been three months so I wasn’t just twiddling my thumbs. I explored the rest of the outpost and discovered a life signs detector. I assimilated it but unfortunately no other useful technology was left behind. I spent the rest of the time exploring the Orion. I still don’t understand a whole lot about Ancient tech but being able to connect with technology is a huge boon. With me connecting to the ship, I was able to find out which systems were damaged and needed to be repaired. Obviously it was very beat up on the inside though surprisingly not a lot of damage was shown on the outside. I am guessing that the Orion was in a battle against multiple Hives and their cruisers and its shields were seriously stressed causing the excess energy to bleed off into the key systems of the ship.
After I had a general idea of which systems were damaged, I got to work thinking of a plan to fix it. I came up with the solution of creating replicator bugs to mine resources from uninhabited planets to repair the Orion and also add the Asgard beam weapons. This was a win-win scenario for me because the more replicators that I make the more computing power I will have in general to digest the information in my head.
I went back to Asuras to get more neutronium to build nanites. When I returned after being gone for a few weeks, the replicators seemed to have made a decent amount of progress. I was actually surprised by how fast they can rebuild. There were thousands of them and they seemed to have finished the framework of a city ship in a very short amount of time. I was very lucky that they didn’t seem to be able to detect my presence when I didn’t want them to. To them it seems that I was just air. This was very good news to me because I exploited the hell out of it by stealing their neutronium. They had a warehouse full of it, so I grabbed as much as I could into a storage box that I had found at the Taranis outpost.
A full box was enough to create 16 full bug replicators or I could create a single human form replicator and four bug replicators. I have to admit, I was a bit tempted to make another human form replicator to interact with but I decided against it at the moment. I needed to repair the Orion before I needed some sort of interaction with another being. I didn’t even really feel the need for interaction. I am guessing this was because of the changes to my mentality to allow me to live for thousands of years without going insane. The reason I entertained the idea at the moment was out of curiosity of what would happen if I did make my own human form replicator.
Moving on, I went back to Taranis with the neutronium and made the 16 bug replicators. It was really easy. I just had to absorb neutronium into my body which would then make more nanites. After a sufficient amount of nanites were made, I would just direct them into the shape that I wanted. After I made the bug replicators, I searched through the gate database that I assimilated earlier in hopes of finding a planet that sounded like it had some resources. I came across three that sounded promising. The first was called Dives, the second was called Opum, and the third was called Plenus.
I just felt that the names of the planets would be a good sign of what was there. I just hope that there are no inhabitants at the planets, though with the Lantean Wraith war I doubt there are many planets that are left inhabited. Even if they were, it would probably be a small amount of villagers who were left by the Wraith to repopulate their numbers.
I dialed the three planets and sent out four bug replicators to each, keeping four with me. I discovered that I can communicate and see through the bugs with my subspace link. Because the subspace link is mine, I have total control over all replicators that are connected to it.
I was pleased to discover that all three worlds had resources that I can use, but only one of them had a great abundance of the resources. Opum was full of naquadah and it is where my future mining operations are going to be. At least for the next couple of years before I have to search for a new world to mine. But hopefully by that point I will already have fixed the Orion and search for resources by using the sh.i.p.s to jump to star systems and scan for anything useful using the sh.i.p.s scanners.
I had the eight other bug replicators gate to Opum to help out the bugs already there with the mining operation. While this was going on, I went back to Asuras to grab more neutronium to build more replicators. The Asurans are really a frightening race. They were already building new infrastructure while they finished building the city ship. It seems that they haven’t been able to make any new zpms because the city ship doesn’t seem to have any power at all. I guess that they just wanted to have it ready for when they build new zpms.
After making two more trips to pick up neutronium, I made another 32 bug replicators and sent half to Opum and the rest stayed with me at the outpost on Taranis. I made them clean up the outpost while I was borrowing their computing power to help speed up my digestion of information. With the additional computing power I was able to digest the Asuran power crystals along with the control crystals and panels. I also made significant progress on the hyperdrive and inertial dampener technology. I can probably gain access to them in about six weeks.
Unfortunately, the small amount of information on how zpms work was still taking a long time. The progress bar only got about a quarter of the way in the last three months. And this wasn’t even the full data on zpms. I had only downloaded 30% of the data before the files got too corrupted. It seems that it will be a couple of months more of waiting until I can get to 30%. Maybe I can speed that up if I come across another zpm. All I would need to do is connect with the zpm, hopefully safely without blowing myself up or something. I don’t know what would happen. I could probably test to see if it is safe by building an Asuran power crystal and connecting with it. It will either do nothing and allow me to inspect its insides, or I am going to fry my nanites because of the energy inside of it.
Or I could just do something that I was planning on way earlier. I was thinking of going to the milky way to find a repository of knowledge to download information off of. Even though most of the information is probably in Atlantis’s database, I won’t be able to go to Atlantis for a couple of years. The war is at its peak at the moment and the fighting is still going on. The reason I know this is because the city ship from the lord protectors planet isn’t there. I sent out one of the bug replicators to see if there was anyone near the tower but there was no tower at all. The city ship still hadn’t fallen yet, but it will do so in the next couple of years. For that reason, I directed the bug replicator I sent out to stay on the planet and wait for the city ship to crash. The moment it does, it will send me a message on the subspace link and inform me. Then I plan on waiting until the inhabitants of the city leave through the stargate. Though there are probably some who stay behind because how else would the lord protectors family have the ATA gene? Those people may become a problem…
