“Peter, Aeinshia isn’t going anywhere. She paid me a visit earlier, saying she would not be visiting the temple, this year.
So, you can rest assured and go to East, for the protection of the Crown Prince Evan. Aeinshia would safe in the Palace under my direct protection, if you are still not reassured.”
Alexander said with a straight face and in a monotone. An, indication that he is not giving any room for decision making glto others and that is his final decision.
Peter was looking at the Emperor, with a straight face. He couldn’t do anything in this situation. The job that was assigned has now become easier. Peter knew, The Emperor was more than capable for protecting the princess.
He no longer can argue with this statement of the Emperor. He was feeling a bit embarrassed, that he forgot that the Emperor, thinks of all odds before he decides something and passes the orders.
And, he went on to go against the Mighty and higher in power of the empire.
Peter bowed down, “I didn’t realize the weight of the situation, while talking, I deeply apologize for that. If her Highness, Princess Aeinshia is staying the Palace, then I would be going to the East to the Crown Prince, as per your orders.”
Finally, Peter surrendered and accepted the decision of the highest in the power. He bowed and nodded as the sign, that the order is accepted by him.
Alexander smiled at the young boy. He observed that the boy matured a lot, as he grew up. He was proud how all the future generation were growing up. Their maturity and work ethics were showing and Alexander couldn’t be more happy and proud about it.
He was reassured that the future of the Seazle empire was bright and prosperous. He couldn’t wait to retire from his position, and officially pass on his responsibilities to the future heirs.
Alexander proceeded to pat the shoulder of Peter, while smiling proudly. “I’m glad, that you taking all words into consideration. This is the sign that you are a responsible person and I hope you would show more f this side in the future as well, when the time comes. Make sure I wouldn’t ever, regret placing my trust in you, young man.”
Alexander spoke with soft tone, complimenting and listing his expectations from him. Peter smiled in triumph. This was a surreal moment. The Emperor, rarely complimented someone and he was happy that he was receiving this, this time.
Peter completed with a wide smile and bowed again and again as he was very grateful, that he was chosen for this opportunity, by the Emperor himself.
They both smiled wide, while looking at each other. “Well, do you have any plan on what you are going to say to my son, when you reach the East?” Alexander asked, in an attempt to lighten up the atmosphere.
Peter stiffened his back and frowned a bit, seemingly thinking. Then, he sighed, “I think I would get a hit on my head and some curses, later I think talk about Your Highness.” Peter said the last sentence, with slow tone and a cheeky smile, came onto his face.
Alexander fake gasped, “You mean, my son curses me behind my back?” He faked his a hurt tone and looked betrayed for a moment. Peter barked out a laugh, which filled out the hallway that they were standing.
“I think Evan took thearitics from you” Peter said, while continuing his laughter, but Alexander seized his boisterous laugh. Peter suddenly realized what he said and turned to face the Emperor, with wide eyes.
Alexander eyes bored into Peter, seemingly staring directly into his soul. Peter suddenly was sweating and he couldn’t believe what he blurted out. He shouldn’t disrespect the Emperor, that way, even though he was playful with him.
He moved away and repeatedly started to bow, “I’m sorry! I didnt mean to say those words. I didn’t pay attention to my words, as I was too engrossed in my stupid laughing fit. Forgive me, for the hurtful words, Your Highness.”
Peter repeatedly muttered loud ‘Sorry’ with Sim extra words in the mix. Alexander gazed at the desperately bowing younger, amusedly. He was totally entertained by the reaction, he gained.
Alexander treated all of the boys, who are in same age as Evan, as his sons and intended to be jovial with them. Same goes with Peter, too. And, he was just teasing, to see the reaction, as it has been long since, they talked like this.
Alexander laughed out loud and Peter halted his actions and glanced at the laughing elder. Then, it clicked in his mind, the reason for the laughter. He looked at The Emperor and slightly protuded his lips, showing his sadness over the teasing.
After the laughing fit of the much older seized, he glanced to Peter, who was still sulking and patted his shoulder. “I suggest you retire to your room now. You can start your journey in the morning. I’ve guess, you might have been working without a break, so rest up do today. Relax and get back to work tomorrow.”
Alexander put out his concerns and Peter smiled softly at the caring nature of the ruler. He was truly a great leader the empire had seen in a long time.
“Sure, Your Highness. Allow me to retire to my resting hours, to recharge myself well, before work.” Peter spoke and smiled wide.
Alexander ruffled the younger’s hair and laughed when he saw the expression on Peter’s face.
Then, both of them retired to their own resting hours and focused on resting themselves, before going, back to their hectic works, the next day.
……. (WARNING: READ AT YOU OWN RISK)
Aeinshia was back into her safe sanctuary. In short, her room in the Palace. She was tired, exhausted. She felt like she couldn’t even move a muscle and doing that, would exhaust her to the point of no return.
So, she decided a nice nap would relax her body and her mind, so she hopped onto her bed and snuggled into her mountain of soft pillows.
Her body immediately relaxed. The weight of carrying an invisible burden was too much for her and she felt relieved after she decided that she would not go, to avoid the situation altogether. This seemed to the good decision out of all. Well, this may not be the answer, but somehow she felt better that the incident would not repeat.
Aeinshia closed her eyes, willingly inviting her sleep to take over her tired senses, but her mind refused to relax. Her body begged to be rested, but her mind rejects the idea. And, to make it worst, she found the scenes of the last in her head.
‘Who would rescue, this little poor girl from us?’
‘Scream all you want, nobody is gonna save you, dear beloved princess of the Seazle.’
‘You would make a beautiful maiden, as you grow up. Do you want us to visit you again, later in the Palace?’
‘This is the best mission I had, since I joined the troop!’
‘What’s the point of being loved and pampered, when no one is coming to save you here.’
Aeinshia squirmed as the memory of that horrible incident of her innocence being snatched aww, played in her head.
She pressed her face more into the pillow and she didnt want anything more than to wipe that memory off from her brain.
She didn’t understand, why this playing in her head the first place. She was better when other thoughts were playung in her mind, than those horrible memories.
‘Such a pity, we have to leave you. Why can’t we just take her with us?
Don’t get too attached, mate. Did you forget the rule? Never disobey the master. He is the ultimatum.
I think our boss needs to have a taste of this. I’m sure, he will never let go of her.
Master doesn’t recruit anyone as his pawns. Have you forgotten or do you need to be reminded by Master.
Who says she doesn’t have purpose. She can be the troop’s play toy. You know our work isn’t easy and can be frustrating most of the times, we do have a good use for her.’
Words after words were echoing inside her head, slicing her heart and opening the old wounds again. Aeinshia grabbed a pillow and pressed it tightly onto her ears. Tears were pricking at the end of eyes. She wanted everything to stop, but the memories and words from those horrible men, kept playing in her head.
The way she was struggling on the bed, on of her hands clutching onto the sheets of the bed, while other tightly clutching the pillow to her ears, trying to block our the ringing words. Her body was now full on trembling and lips closed tightly. Her breathing was getting heavy, due to the lack of inhaling.
This felt like, she was back to that place again. In that dark cave, only able to hear voices, but not being able to see anything. Feeling everything, but couldn’t defend herself.
The four men, kept assaulting her, but she couldn’t do anything about it. Her hearing and touch senses were only active. Her actions were slow and weak and she couldn’t get herself to move or even push them off.
Her silent pleas and cries were drowned by the loud and happy and satisfied chattering of the guards among themselves.
That was the most pathetic day of her life, from where everything spirally went down.
Her body was shaking like a dry leaf and tears were now falling, drenching the soft pillows and suddenly, Aeinshia’s eyes shot open, in a realization.
