Shaking her head profusely, she began to think about how she need to convince her uncle. She is worried, about how he might receive this piece of information.

She turned around and noticed, the beautiful night already embraced the bright sky and got decorated with little twinkling stars. Staring at the sky, she went into a contemplation, wondering whether it is ok for her to meet her uncle now or not.

She debated for few minutes and finally decided to take this gamble. It’s not like he will kill her if she went at this late hour to talk something important to him. So what’s she so worried of? There after, she finally toon a step forward, began to March towards the emperors chambers.

There isn’t much distance from her place to the emperors chambers, or else it might be her imagination, knowing how much in a hurry she was. She hoped, the emperor didn’t already drift into his Dreamland. She would really feel bad if she disturbed his sleep. It’s rare for him to get fine rest and if she were the one to interrupt his rest time, then she would sure blame herself and might feel guilty for the emperor.

While on her way to emperor chambers, she greeted many great warriors and guards. Just a look at them, she is damn sure that they were all too notch specially trained warriors. Responding to their greetings, her foot halted, when the door of the emperor chamber came into sight.

There were two guards, stand guarding outside of the emperor room. They stood still, without expressing any slightest emotion on their face, all serious written on them. She approached the door, following it they greeted her, to which she slightly nodded her head, indicating her acknowledgement.

” Your highness, princess Aeinshia. Emperor….. ” He was cut in middle by Aeinshia’s sudden actions, while his mouth stop in open air. Yes, for the first time during his entire lifetime, guarding the emperor, he saw someone daring to knock at the emperor’s quarters. On top of that, this isn’t even day time, disturbing him from his rest time.

The other guard too got nearly same reaction, aa too gasped in utter disbelief.

The knock began again, Aeinshia waiting for Alexander to respond. Just as she thought, A shout came from inside the room,  and listening to it’s healthy tone, Aeinshia, assumed, her uncle might have again immersed himself in books and forgot about time.

Aeinshia opened door. This isn’t her meeting the emperor, but a niece seeking for her uncle’s help. So forgot all the formalities and entered the room.

Just as she thought, there is a rocking chair right in front of the window, the room lightened, her uncle holding a book in his hands, in his usual white pajamas. This is his usual way to dress up during night, and before going to bed, he will without missing continue reading some or other book daily. In fact, that is a part if his daily routine.

The cool breeze brushed past Alexander’s hair, while his eyes concentrated on the book in his hand. He seemed to be in a serious mood, looking at him not even turning to look at arrived person into his chambers.

Time ticked by, the rocking chair making movements, he closed the book, placed it on the table beside and finally got curious to know who got the audacity to meet him at such late hour. To his surprise, it is his niece. A crease formed in his forehead, in confusion.

It’s not even long before they spoke and now, she is here, in some hurry to speak about something to him.

Alexander warmly welcomed her with a smile and spoke, ” My dear child, come here and take a seat, ” He advised her.

Nodding her head vehemently, she proceeded towards the chair beside Alexander’s. Yes, there were two chairs in front of the window and Alexander always sat in the other chair, that is, the current one he is using right now. Rest other, Aeinshia doesn’t need others to tell that the other chair belongs to the empress. Maybe, her uncle created, more precisely left the room as it is when the express was alive.

Not only the chairs, but also the room. Unlike all other palaces and quarters, this is the only chamber which did not have any renovation for the last ten years and didn’t change any furniture in here. This is a simple and cozy room. If one could notice, there is a chess board opposite to the windows, with few pieces on the random squares of board. This might be the last uncompleted game they played together. Aeinshia saw it, but didn’t have time to think about and immediately flew into the next seat of her uncle.

Alexander pushed a glass of water to Aeinshia, as he continued, ” Dear Aeinshia, what brought you here at this late hour? Do you need something important to tell me? ” He enquired, nicely asking her to continue her job of taking the pain to get here.

Aeinshia fidgeted her fingers for a minute or so, took the water glass from her uncle and chugged it in, ” Uncle, that, I would like to go to city shelter and pray for my mom, ” She finally spoke her words.

Alexander didn’t budge nor reacted, he simply noticed her small reactions on her face.

” Can you explain me what made you change your decision? ” He finally spoke asked her.

Aeinshia: ” Uncle, this isn’t for only my benefit. My decision will also help our empire, ” She spoke confidently, clearly managed to pick Alexander’s curiousty.

” Her decision to go to the journey will help the empire? How? “
