Reborn princess: I will change my ill-fate - 153 Chapter 153. Three plans
Exact location: Unknown:
Two people seated in a dark room, with the light coming from the large window at the wall on the side and a small opening in the ceiling of the room.
The ray’s direction which were coming from the ceiling, were directly falling on a small table placed in the middle of the room. The table was surrounded by two chairs placed opposite to each other.
Two people were seated on the chairs, opposite to each other, facing the chess board that was placed on the small table infront of them. Neither of them were talking, their whole focus trained on the chess board placed on the board.
The pawns were a mix of colors on the board, indicating that the game was pretty deep and was ongoing. But, neither one of them, were moving.
“Come on, make a move. You are taking ages.” A voice spoke out, disturbing the absolute silence in the room. A smirk painted on the voice owner’s face, followed by the mocking and irritating words.
The person sitting facing didnt make any sign of movement, not paying any heed to the words of the other person. “Aren’t Black Pawns taking too long to move?” The same person from earlier spoke out, this time mock and tease was very much evident in the gruff voice.
Still, the person sitting on the other didn’t show any sign of reaction. But, the crack of bones from clenching the fists clearly rang out in the room, after the silence that followed the words.
The speaking person seemed to be satisfied by the reaction and smirked in victory for successfully irritating the person. But, that smirk soon dropped, when the opposite person picked up their Black Pawn, in an intention to make a move.
Everything resumed to silence, as the person waited for the move from the person, who holding a knight in their dainty fingers. Finally, the person moved and knocked out the white Queen and placed the Black Knight over that place.
Both people, watched as the White Queen rolled and dropped down to the ground, while making a sound on its way.
“The Queen is gone.” The soft and melodic voice of other person rang out. The mock was as clear as sun in the clear sky.
Just then, the door to the room opened and the doors hit the wall with a loud bang. The so un was quiet loud, seeing the room was deadly silent.
A panting person, who emerged from the door, tried to stabilize his breath. The two people, slowly leaned back in their seats and watched the man intently, who entered the room.
“The Princess has commenced her journey.”
The statement earned smirks and victory from the two people seated in the room.
…
Peter was on his way to the Emperor’s chambers, all happy and a bit sad, that he had to get back to his duty.
He was about to enter the Emperor’s quarters, when a group of women passed by him. They were wearing high class clothes, indicating that they were upper class women, the ladies in waiting. Peter bowed to them, and they too returned the gesture.
He was going forward, when their not so quietly spoken words, caught his attention.
“Yes, the Princess left this morning. She told, the Felix Rutz her brother would be accompanying her to the City Sylter.” Sophia was telling to her friend, about the words Princess told her to spread.
“Wow, they must really love their mother, to go in the times like this.” Another women, with silvery hair said out, admiring the Rutz siblings.
Peter frowned as the rest of their audible conversation floated away. His frown was now deeper than ever. He didn’t understand. Yesterday night, he heard some maids talking about the Princess’ departure and now the ladies in waiting were talking about it, too.
Peter turned around and looked at the retreating females. He looked closely at one of them and recognized her. He didn’t remember her name, but he knew, she was the lady who served the Rutz Princess, whenever she is in the Palace.
‘That was the lady, who talked about the departure of princess. She serves her personally, maybe she is right and the princess is going and his highness, the Emperor was just lying to me, so I go to the East.’
His thoughts, made him widen his eyes. He couldn’t believe what thoughts he was having. The Emperor of Seazle was lied to him? The thought itself was not settling to him. His uneasiness was increasing and he decided to visit the Princesses quarters first, to check in the Princess.
Peter took a turn from the Emperor’s chambers and walked towards the Princess quarters. When, he reached there, he saw the guards were pacing at the entrance and decided to ask them first.
Peter walked forward and stopped right in front of the entrance. The guards there stood in a line and bowed to him. “Greetings, Sir Peter.” They all greeted in unison and Peter just nodded at them.
“Is Princess Aeinshia still in her chambers. I’m here to check on her, but I don’t want to disturb her highness’ sleep, this early.” He tried his beat to come with an excuse and he thought he was doing a good job.
The guards looked confused and they exchanged a look with each other. Peter understood the meaning of it. Now, he looked like an idiot in front of them. But, he didn’t show any expression in his face.
“Sir Peter, her highness, Princess Aeinshia left for her journey just a while ago. Her highness was supposed to leave early in the morning with Sir Felix to City Sylter, just as every year.” One of the guards reported to Peter and Peter was embarrassed by his excuse now.
“Alright. Keep guarding the princess quarters. And, stay alert. Enemies might attack from anywhere.” Saying that, Peter didn’t wait for any answer and just walked away from there.
The guards passed each other a look after greeting the main guard of the Crown Prince with a bow. They shrugged off and went to mind their own business.
Meanwhile, Peter’s thoughts were going crazy in his head. He wasn’t sure, if the Emperor lied to him or the Emperor decided it after his departure from the dining room, the other day. Over all, he didn’t understand what he should do right now.
He was now, stuck at a crossroads. Now, he was debating if he should go to the East or not. Should he chose Emperor’s orders or the Crown Prince’s orders? He didn’t even know if the Princess really went to the City Sylter or these were all just rumors.
He was sure that these weren’t rumors as he analyzed all the things in his mind. The gossiping maids, the talks of the ladies-in-waiting and the guards words. The guards would definitely know, if the Princess was there inside.
At least, he would have caught them, if they were lying. He could differ who was lying and who were not. And, he could tell the guards weren’t pretending, by their answer and body language.
Now, the question is, is Princess Aeinshia really went on a journey or the Emperor is keeping her in a hiding and spreading the rumors. The Emperor is very much capable to create rumors.
‘So, the first thing I should confirm I whether the Princess is really in the Palace or not. I can’t just go ask his highness. I’m sure, he won’t tell me anything. I should find it myself. But, how and who would provide a confirmation about this?’
Peter thought about all those were running and he can’t seem to think of anyone, who could really confirm to him about the departure of the princess.
Suddenly, a thought popped in his head. It would be a shot taken in absolute darkness, but he had no other option. He was already in darkness, he had to do something, to see a source of light.
He decided what he was going to do, but why he was about to do would play a major role, in his final decision.
…
Alexander was now seated in his chamber. He was at his desk, doing nothing. Well, physically nothing, but his mind was working in overdrive.
He leaned back in seat and closed his eyes. And, the same scene was flashing in his head. He just can’t get that image out of head though he tried his best.
Just then, a knock reverberated in his pitch silent room. Alexander opened his eyes and walked up to his locked door. He had locked for a sense of peace. But, he was expecting someone, so he has to open the door.
When he opened his door, a young man vowed in greeting and came inside the chambers with the Emperor’s orders.
“Your Highness, I’m at your service. Your orders.” The young man asked Alexander.
“I want information about each and every worker in the Palace. When I say every low to high level worker.” Alexander specified his words.
The young man was confused, but boss showing his acceptance. “What kind of information, may I ask, your highness. Any particular specifications, if I can ask?” The young man asked, timidly.
Alexander fell into deep thought and came with a reply.
“Their background, their origins and year of recruiting. In short, everything you can get. On each and everyone.” Alexander said with finality in his voice.
Thee young man was dismissed, after his orders were passed.
“I’m going to make sure, you, not even you origin or even your shadow will touch my kingdom. You won’t play with me again.” Alexander gritted out while looking at the wall, with an image of the person in his head.
