Reborn princess: I will change my ill-fate - 160 Chapter 160.
The old man knew about the consequences. If the Princess managed to realize what he had done, their whole family would be in danger. But, he had a daughter to protect.
His two grandchildren needed their mother for their growth. So, he was ready to risk it all. He felt awful to be part of this plan and betray the royal family, but he couldn’t do anything but this.
Desperation can make you do anything. And, that’s what people take advantage of.
He looked down and saw his little grandson looking at the going people with teary eyes. He knows, despite being in the small age, his grandson could understand what was going on around him.
He patted his little head and smiled sadly at the boy. “Its alright, my boy. Your mother would be home soon. I wish our princess would be safe too.” He said those words, but didn’t know if his last words he said about the princess, would come true or not.
He knew perfectly, what he did and what would be the consequences. He was forced to do that and by experience he could tell, that the princess has no way out of this.
He hurriedly gestured for his grandson to move and they rushed to their house to hide. The old man feared, that the royal guards would somehow find out and hunt their family down.
And, they would never be able to get to them, until he is alive. When his daughter and granddaughter would be back from the clutches of those devils, they would go far away from this area.
Meanwhile, the trio of knights and including princess Aeinshia, were heading towards the opening trail of the mountain. Oliver was carrying the juice which they brought at the old man and they were moving forward.
Finally, Aeinshia could see the Royal house, which was built at the end of the city. She was instantly amazed by the beauty of the house. Her jaw dropped and so, everyone’s. Well, Aeinshia always had the same reaction, whenever she saw the house.
Till last year’s journey, Aeinshia would stay here in this house for three days and complete her journey. They would rest for the first day and visit the temple for the next day and after her visits around the city, there would finally proceed back to the Palace.
The house was majestic. It was the size of their Rutz mansion, but this was a little modern. Well, it was built according to the taste of her mother, Beatrice. Rutz mansion was the heirarchially passed mansion, so it was very ancient.
But, this mansion was built just about 15 to 20 years ago, so it was comparably modern.
The house was standing in the middle of the property, which was surrounded by the lucuous greenery around. It was surreal to see. The landscape was jaw dropping.
This mansion was the greatest memory and it was the gift his belived sister left for him. So, he ordered for them to keep everything clean and clear of dust. He didn’t want the memory of his sister, to go into the dust.
After her admiration towards the mansion, which she always visits every year. A haunting memory, flowed into her head. This was where she was drugged. She was fed with some kind of numbing drug and all her gaurds accompanying were killed.
The more she saw the house, the more the memories were haunting her now. Without her noticing, her eyes were getting teary, but she somehow managed to hold them back.
Before her thoughts diverted even more to the incident, a voice cut through the air, “Your Highness, would you like to rest in the house, or should we proceed?” Sana asked her, with small voice, sensing something was wrong with the princess.
Aeinshia immediately opened her mouth for denial and that she wanted to continue, when she took in the state of the guards accompanying her. She may not need a rest, but they need. They have to be in a good shape to be able to protect her from the incoming danger.
She looked at the sky and realized, there’s still a quite of the time, till then they can spend some time resting and refreshing themselves. Well, more like, the guards can rest themselves.
“We can rest under the shades of the trees for a while, then we will continue our journey. It is better if we complete our task as soon as possible.” Aeinshia said when stopping her horse.
They all nodded and came to stop under a large tree, which was providing a cool shade, from the scorching sun. They mojtned from their horses and tied them to the tree.
Oliver was checking up on the horses and spoke out, “I think these horses would also, need to quench their thirst.” He spoke while patting the silky mane of George’s horse.
Aeinshia, who was about to sit looked up and was reminded of something. “There is a small lake like water body, while going to the temple, we can feed the horses there.” She spoke out and sat down on a small rock.
Sana also, sat down on a rock a little far away from the princess. And, George and Oliver were sitting near the horses. As guards they should maintain their distance from the Royals they were guarding. Their privacy was always given to them, while resting.
Aeinshia ignored everything around her and decided it would be nice, if she could take a nap. Her nerves were all over the place and she was worried about the future. In only few minutes, she was going to face her attackers and she couldn’t be more nervous, thinking about it.
She leaned back and rested her head on the thick bark of the tree and closed her eyes. The rays of sun made their way through the small gaps of the leaves and were slightly falling on her face, warming up her skin a little.
The cool breeze that passed ruffled the loose starmds of her hair and the shade made the passing breeze even more cool and they all relaxed under. Aeinshia despite knowing everything and planning everything, couldnt stop from thinking all the things going wrong with this mission, but she held on to the hope.
Without her knowledge, she was slowly slipping into the sleep land, when a soft voice shook off her sleep. She blocked her eyes open and glanced at Sana, who was trying to get her attention, towering over her, with concerned expression.
She didn’t know why, but the position triggered something in her and she noved away from Sana. This action caused her to fall off the small rock and land on the ground harshly. If it wasn’t for Sana’s fast reflexes, she would have collapsed on her side and hit her head on the rock, that was just beside her.
Sana clutched her head preventing her head to be hit on the rock. After realizing what would have happened, Aeinshia scrambled to her feet. She dusted herself, to get rid of the dust on her clothes.
When she glanced to her side, she saw the three guards looking at her. Sana was concerned and the other two were a bit confused. Aeinshia realized her actions may come off as harsh and she started to speak.
“I was just startled. I was about to doze off and you suddenly woke me up. My foggy mind didn’t process it in a good way. Don’t be concerned, there is nothing major.” Aienshia tried to explain it to her best, but she could deny the fact, that the sentences somehow sounded broken and were unsure.
The men seemed to be buying the words of the princess. But, Sana had an odd feeling about this. She saw how lost the princess was being. She knew something was bothering the princess, but she was in no place to get personal with her.
She was just a mere guard, who was posing as the princess for the safety purposes and nothing more than that. Still, she wanted to at least assure the worried princess.
She gestured for the juice, that they bought to the men and they quietly handed it to her. She then told them, to go and rest and she approached the princess, who was still adjusting her clothes.
“Your Highness, you must be tired, please have this juice to relax and cool your body from the heat.” Sana smiled sweetly and handed her a small jug, that accompanied the big can.
Aeinshia smiled gratefully and accepted the juice and drank it hungrily. She finished the juice in one go and sighed out loudly. Then she spoke again, “You all should have the juice too. You must be thirsty. We also, don’t have anything to eat. We can have this for meanwhile and eat something, after we return to the city again.” Aeinshia spoke weakly and Sana nodded.
She called the men and all of them greedily drank the tasty juice, not knowing or checking if it was drugged or not and only focusing on the fact to quench their thirst.
The situation from the last was repeating again.
Will the Princess be able to escape her ill fate this time?
