Reborn princess: I will change my ill-fate - 162 chapter 162.
They could see the trees were now a shade of red and orange. They were turning that way, because of the season and they were the reason, why the temple is so famous.
The temple entrance would be a few yards away from this entry point. Aeinshia was rather confused, that being fearful. She had expected the ambush to happen when they were on their way here, but it never came.
Aeinshia was sure, her memory was good. She couldn’t forget that incident. Despite be in drugged, she knew, that they were attacked while on the way up. All the guards were killed and she was dragged to the cave.
So, all along she was expected the people to come out of nowhere to attack. She was ready for the action, because she was prepared this time and wasn’t drugged like last time, or so she thought she wasn’t.
She even passed some words to the guards, telling them to watch out for any suspicious activity. They were all extra careful, but nothing came and this was confusing Aeinshia to no extent.
‘I thought they were going to attack? What happened? Did they back off? Did they decided it is not a good idea to mess with the princess of Seazle? Or this is all a plan?
The situation won’t change. That’s what was told to me, then why aren’t they attacking? I came here to capture and they decided to not show and give up?
Are they planning something else? What are they planning? Are they going to ambush the Palace instead, because they think the Princess is still in the Palace.’
Her thoughts were mindless and made no sense. Well, to her nothing about the situation made sense. She was frustrated, now. She went through all the agonizing thoughts, a lot ton of tears and had to draw whatever courage left with her, to take this step and now it all went into drain?
She wasn’t able to digest this. Now. anger was taking over her. She felt like to bang someone’s head onto to ground and drive a knife through their while body. Her emotions were all over the place.
As they were proceeding towards the temple, Aeinshia. was getting a bit dizzy. She had been feeling it since they started their way up, but now it seemed to getting a lot. She blamed it all on the scrotching hot sun.
The guards were also, feeling the same, but kept quiet, as they didn’t want the Princess to think, that they were incapable to guard her properly. And, mostly, the Emperor placed a lot of trust in them in guarding the Rutz princess, and they didn’t want to fail his trust.
They all didn’t discuss the problem they were facing, so not to lose their pride and some blaming it on the natural resources, but they didn’t know that was going to be the first step to their own downfall, especially, Aeinshia’s.
Finally, they stopped in front of the temple. Aeinshia just stared towards it. She remembered the. reason, why she was here. In her paranoia, she totally forgot, what was the reason, they were visiting the temple. She was here for her mother and to capture the enemies, later.
Somehow, Aeinshia’s dizzy mind, decided that she is safe now and they wouldn’t attack her anymore. So, she can see her mother, without any fear amd she was free from all those horrible things, she was going to be subjected, after the attack would take place.
Suddenly, she was excited. Very excited. She quickly got down from her horse and walked towards the rows of trees in front of the temple. The horses were generally tied to the trees in front and the patrons would go inside to pray and visit the unique things the temple was famous for.
She did that quickly and turned to see, the guards were also, tying their horses to the trees. She waited for them and after all of them were gathered, they pulled their hoods of the cloaks over their heads and proceeded inside.
The doubt of why there were no people around was raised in Aeinshia’s head. Normally, this season, was perfect for the tourists to come and the temple would be crowded, every time Aeinshia visited.
But this time, there were no people and this was rasing doubt’s, but she decided it was just a day, that tourists didnt come. And, the patrons liked to come mostly in the evening and seeing that it was noon, it was nothing in Aeinshia’s mind.
They moved into the temple and the everyone looks around trying to scan the area for anyone or anything suspicious.
The inside of the temple was not ordinary building. It was a very vast place, filled with greenery. The temple building was exactly in the middle, while there was path to go around the building. The path was divided from the perimeter of the temple building with small bushed with berries and flowers.
The other side was full of lush green trees. The patrons would pay their respects in the temple and would look around the temple. The path would take the people around and open the way to many plants and ancient trees that are unique to this mountain alone.
Aeinshia was the leading their little troop now. She wanted to complete the task as soon as possible and return to the Palace. But, as they were approaching the temple’s huge brown doors, they saw a person coming out of the temple.
The man seemed to notice them and headed in their direction. Sana moved to the front as she was the ‘princess’. The two ladies made sure they weren’t seen and pulled their hoods securely.
The man who was coming, increased his pace and jogged towards them. “Princess Aeinshia, Your Highness, accept the greetings of this common citizen.” The man dramatically fell on his knees and greeted the princess.
Sana looked at Aeinshia, who did nothing but nod. Aeinshia was getting restless, she was nauseous and suddenly wanted to throw up. Sana just cleared her throat, because she felt a bile in her throat.
“I know, I mean to say, everyone knows, the princess visits the temple this day, to pay respect to her deceased mother, every year. So, we made all the preparations as per every year.” The man spoke sweetly.
Meanwhile, Aeinshia was not feeling well. Her eyes were getting a bit blurry and she was having trouble to process the words that were spoken to her.
The words suspended in the air as no one spoke anything, which was finally cut by Oliver, “State your name and position here.” His voice came a bit weak than intended, but still had a stern tone to it.
The man just smiled, “My name is Nathan. I’m the son of care taker of this temple. I saw the princess was coming, so I came to greet and assist her highness into the temple.” He said politely and bowed towards the princess, that is to Sana.
Sana just nodded and they were about to go ahead, when Nathan, interrupted them, “Whats the problem?” George inquired Nathan, and he showed a bit of discomfort on his face.
“I’m afraid we can’t enter the temple from the front door, princess. There is a renovation going on the front, but the back door is opened for the patrons to come in. If your highness, doesn’t feel offended, we can all enter the temple through the back door.”
Nathan keeps on bowing after saying the words and muttering some apologies about the inconvenience. The four people were having trouble to hear the words properly. Their heads were feeling heavy and mind hazy and eyes were going in and out of focus.
Sana just nodded to everything, Nathan was telling. Nathan smiled, an unknown feeling behind it, it was rather creepy, if anyone were capable enough to see the man’s face.
“Please proceed in this way. We will go follow the path to the back door. Do not worry, your highness princess Aeinshia, we promise a very good hospitality towards you.” Nathan said and started to lead them towards the back door of the temple as said.
The four people followed the man, but in the middle George stumbled a bit, but no one took notice of his star, as they were all in the same kind of situation.
They keep on shaking their heads, trying to shake away the dizziness, but to no avail. All the while, Nathan, who was leading them, side eyed them, with a small and wicked smirk playing on his lips.
The drug was starting to have an effect on them. Now, the history was repeating itself.
Would someone be able to save Princess Aeinshia, or would she save herself?
