Reborn princess: I will change my ill-fate - 182 Chapter 182
When she went inside, she saw Milo standing there waiting. “Uncle Milo, are the family settled well? Please take care of all their needs, they have been through tough time, make sure they are comfortable and get our full hospitality.” She spoke to the main guard of the Cherry Blossom Palace.
Milo bowed to the princess and replied to the words, “Everything is set for the family to rest and be comfortable. The maids are appointed for their care and to provide them with anything they wish for. Everything is under control, your highness. The only thing that is necessary now, is for the princess to take a rest. My princess, you had a stressful day, I think its high time you gave yourself, the much needed rest for your body, to release the stress.”
Milo, voiced out his concerns. The first part of his words, were formal, as he was reporting and the second part was him being an uncle to the princess. He has taken care of this Palace from a long time, and he knew how the princess is very stubborn with her health.
Aeinshia never took a rest, before she completes the task in hand. Even if she halts the work, she never stops thinking about it. More specifically, never stops worrying about the matter.
Milo knew what happened from the royal guard Peter and truth be said, he wanted to behead those people with his own hands. But, he couldn’t do that. The Royal guards were there to do that and their involvement as guards would stop, when the Royal guards took over.
But, one thing he didn’t understand was that, how was the princess not effected by all this incidents? He gets it that the princess is very brave and unlike the fragile princesses, but this was big.
She was drugged to unconscious, almost lost her chastity, which is of huge importance for women and yet, the princess was not shaken up by all this even for a little bit.
He saw when the princess first came to the Palace, she was calm and he doesn’t want to insane, but he swore he saw some kind of happiness and victory in them. She might have been happy for them to be caught, but there were no hints of fear or any kind of resistance and after effects of the incident.
No matter, how strong and capable you are, things like this, especially to the women, was like a harsh blow and he didn’t understand, how this didn’t effect the princess even in the slightest.
‘Maybe I’m over thinking. The princess tends to hide all her emotions from everyone and handles them when she is alone. Maybe she didn’t show her fear to not to worry everyone. Yes, I’m just assuming a lot of things. How can I suspect the lovely princess? Something must be wrong with me.”
“Uncle Milo, I’m alright. Yes, I faced a lot today, but the justice and the decisions had to be passed today. After all, the empire comes first than any of us. And, I think its time for all of us to rest now. Everyone had a long day. I’ll retire to my chambers for rest now.”
Aeinshia spoke and bowed towards the maids and guards present inside, who in turn bowed low at their waists to return the respect the princess was paying them.
Aeinshia rose up and smiled content. Everyone and everything has settled down, now. No more, stress how the situations would turn out. She managed to serve justice to everyone, even to herself, at least she thought, she gave equal justice to everyone. But, nonetheless, she was very proud and satisfied with herself with how everything ended.
Of course, it was a rough path and she didn’t know, how would she escape the situation if it wasn’t for Peter to come on the nick of time. She was thankful to the heavens, for giving her strength and chance to fight.
Now, thinking of Peter, Aeinshia thought she didnt thank him properly. She thought, I was unfair, after all, he was the main hero of the day, who saved her. She wanted to slap herself, when she realized she didn’t thank him.
So, she decided she would do that, before retiring for her much needed rest. When she turned on her heel, to search for the Royal Aide of her lover, she found Peter standing there, with his expression close to….discomfort?
Aeinshia didnt understand what has caused this kind of feeling to Peter. She contemplated whether, she should ask him or just leave the matter, as something to do with the prisoners, or just ask what was the matter.
Aeinshia sighed loudly, when she made the decision.
“Peter, is something bothering you?” Aeinshia asked softy, but Peter flinchedbeven at that soft tone, indicating he was really in deep thoughts. She wondered what were those?
Peter looked at the princess with wide eyes. He then, composed himself and smiled towards her, not wanting her to bother with his problems. “Its nothing, your highness. Just some matters. Nothing to be concerned. You can stay reassured. Is there something you wish for?”
He asked, covering up his negatuve emotions that were surfacing a while ago. He can’t believe he let the princess see him lost in his thoughts. He hated it when he showed anything vulnerable to the Royals, except Evan.
Well, Peter doesnt show any vulnerability to even Evan. He dislikes, he feels as though they were all judging him, so he keeps them to himself. So, when he realized the princess saw him deep and lost in his thoughts, he Del a bit embarrassed.
Aeinshia smiled warmly, clearly seeing the discomfort in Peter’s eyes. She isn’t a fool, she understood peter didnt want to tell her about the matter and she totally gets it. Sometimes, people can’t tell what’s bothering them, even if its something very simple.
“Nothing big. I just want to convey my sincere gratefulness to you. I don’t know how you got to know about the situation, but you arrived and saved me. I’m extremely thankful to you and I feel like I owe you my life.” Aeinshia sincerely voiced out her gratefulness, accompanied with a bow towards Peter, as a sign of sincere and heartfelt confession.
Peter panicked when Aeinshia bowed and he immediately returned the gesture and spoke out in a hurry. “There is no need for that, your highness. You are a princess. The treasure of the Seazle empire. Any attack on you, means attack on us. Guarding and protecting you, is our duty and we owe our lives on that oath. And, please don’t say things like that. We, the Royal guards owe our lives to you, not the other way around.”
Peter hurriedly said his words, Aeinshia was almost amused by how flustered peter got when he was caught off guard. She held in a chuckle, that threatened to come out. She didnt want to break the moment they were in, specially when she still wasn’t done talking.
“I don’t believe that. Of course, protecting a Royal I the primary duty of all Royal guards, but I believe as much as you owe your lives to us, we also, need to be grateful for protecting us and keeping our secrets in. Without the Royal Guards, we absolutely cannot do anything. You have a respectable place in the Royals’ eyes, Peter.”
Aeinshia said out, what she thought and her smile brightened when she saw a smile spreading on Peter’s lips. She was happy that she made someone smile.
“That’s very nice and considerate of the Royal family, your highness. Not everyone has the same high thoughts, as the current Royal family. I should say, I’m really honored and proud to be working under his highness, Emperor Alexander Seazle’s reign. I learnt a lot from him, as well as the Crown Prince and you and Sir Felix.”
Peter said, with a fond and proud smile at thought of the people, who changed his thought process. Well, with Princess Aeinshia being the new addition to this list. But, he still had one thing to clarify.
And, he started to fidget on the spot, whether to ask or not. He didnt want to offend the princess. He didn’t exactly deal with girls that much. His line of work and always attached to the side of his best friend and prince, didn’t give him much experience on dealing with women, so he didn’t know how to place his words.
Aeinshia saw that Peter suddenly went quiet. She didn’t know how she knew that Peter wanted to ask something, but she did. She guessed it was just an instinct. She shrugged the thought off and was about to ask, what was bothering Peter, when he spoke out, halting her up.
“Uhm….If you don’t mind me asking, your highness. Why didn’t you pass the execution order on the old man, earlier?” Peter asked.
