- Volume 2: High School Year Arc Chapter 531 Revenge 532: It's My Fault
“Mom, you and Father are giving us more than just pressure. You do know that, right?”
Mary slightly smiled and said, “I know, Arion. Your father and I did not want to put this pressure on you two, but you and your sister are the only people in the world that we trust the most to do this mission.”
“I’m flattered that you think of us that way, Mom.” Even though she knows that she still lacks in some area, her mother always trusted her, so she is afraid to fail this mission. This could be her and her brother’s big break from all the whispers and stares they have been getting from the organization’s people.
‘This time, my brother and I will show them what we really are.’ She inwardly declared.
“Anna, have you told Kyle about this? You are going away for a few days, that would mean that you and Kyle will have no communication or whatsoever during those days, you do know that, right?” After asking that question, Mary waited for her daughter to reply, but Anna only gave her silence. Mary sighed and continued on, “Good grief, you should tell him about this before he hears it to other people. It will not be good for either one of you if that happens.”
Years ago, Mary also had never told Arion about everything that she does, especially when she is going away for a dangerous mission. Every time that Arion hears that she is gone on a mission, they would always fight. Because of that, they nearly broke up.
Their communication with each other is not at that time. They were not good at expressing their feelings when it is vital. With great effort and attempts to try to understand each other, they overcame that hurdle.
Mary does not want Anna to be someone like her in the past.
“Communication is the most important thing in a relationship, sister,” Aaron commented. Mary glance at her son, and she is slightly surprised that he said that. Usually, he would not utter a word when it comes to this topic.
‘I guess what’s happening between him and Nathalia are going well, huh? I hope Leonardo is not freaking out right now.’ Mary can only imagine Leonardo’s reaction once he knew about the steady process between his daughter and his son.
“I know. We’re going to meet up tomorrow, and I will tell him then. The mission is not until the end of the week, so I got time.” Anna tried to make her heart calm, but for some reason, her heart is beating fast because of nervousness. She feels like something big is going to happen soon.

The next day, Anna and Kyle are at their usual meeting place, Claire’s cafe place. Anna is sitting in front of Kyle, and she can tell that something is bothering him and that he is irritated by it. The moment they both sat down, none of them have yet said a word.
Anna wanted to be the first to do it, but it feels like she should not say a word for some unknown reason.
Claire, on the other hand, is watching from afar. She somehow feels annoyed just by watching Anna and Kyle not saying a word to each other. “What the hell is going on between those two now?” She asked.
“I have no idea. They were just fine the last time I saw them. Maybe they are breaking up.” Harrison said nonchalantly. He does not care about the matter between Anna and Kyle. He got more important things to do other than paying attention to them.
“Hell, they are! I do not allow such a thing to happen!” Claire declared. Out of all the couple she has seen coming in out of her cafe, Anna and Kyle are exceptional. Every time they come over, they always give off a vibe that nothing will stand in their way, and their relationship will get stronger and stronger as the days pass by.
“Claire, let them handle their own problem.” From one glance at Anna’s table, Harrison can tell that no one should disturb them. Their problem is something they, and only they, should handle.
“I know, but I don’t want Anna and Kyle to break up!” Claire even threatened Arion if he ever tries to get in the way because she supports the couple. Until the end of her breath, she would like to watch over them and see how they grow.
Harrison decided to stay quiet and watch. His initial plan was to relax first then leave, but after hearing his wife’s rambling. It looks like he has to keep his wife in line until Anna and Kyle finish their business.
~~~
“Anna, why didn’t you tell me?”
Kyle is the first one to break the silence between them. Anna was glad, but at the same time, nervous. Kyle doesn’t sound like how he used to talk to her.
‘He’s angry.’
“I didn’t tell you what?” Anna can guess what Kyle is talking about, but she truly hopes that she is wrong.
“I heard it from your father last night. You’re going on a very dangerous mission, and you didn’t say a word to me. Now, I’m asking again, why didn’t you say a word to me? Don’t I have the right to know and worry about you?” If Anna can’t even share this bit of information with him, it makes him believe that Anna has little trust in him up until now.
“I didn’t think-”
“You didn’t think what? I don’t have the right at all? Or that there is no point in telling me, is that it?” The more he thinks that Anna has little trust in him, the more his blood boils. He always says to himself that he should not get angry at Anna, but right now, he has every right to.
“You do. You do have all the right to get angry at me and that I should have told you about it right away, and I don’t have any excuse to say to you.” Anna lowered her head. She truly feels sorry, and her mother was right. It is terrible if Kyle heard important news about her from other people and not from her.
Almost everyone believed that Veronica will be the one causing trouble for her and Kyle, but it seems like they are all wrong. It is not Veronica that is causing the problem. She is the one who has been hesitating a lot, and it’s only right that she gets that blame.
“Anna, tell me honestly, do you actually trust me? Because the way I see it, you don’t trust me at all. I’m keeping up at the same pace as you are, but no matter how long I wait, you still can’t share everything with me.” What Kyle really wants from Anna is a confirmation. He needs that so he and Anna can find a way to fix the problem they have now.
He knows that from the way he talks, it might seem like he is about to declare that he wants to break up with Anna, but it is not the case. Kyle has no intention of doing that, and if it were the other way around, he wouldn’t allow Anna to end things with him either.
“Of course, I trust you!” Anna is tearing up. She feels like her heart is breaking from this confrontation. “The problem is me. I, I am not good at sharing, especially if it is about me. I am bad at it!”
From the distance where the old couple is, Claire has this worried expression plastered on her face. She may not know what Anna and Kyle are talking about, but what she does know is that what they are talking about must be severe.
“Anna is crying, you know? I think we should call Arion or Aaron.” Harrison knows that he said that they should watch and wait, but it seems like now is the right time to interfere with whatever may be going on between them.
“No. Like you said, we should not interfere.” As much as Claire wants to interfere, she will not. Kyle may look like he is angry, but Claire can see that he is in pain in his eyes. ‘It seems like Kyle is not the one who’s at fault here.’
“But it doesn’t look good.”
“Husband, if you call Arion and Aaron, they will beat the crap out of Kyle for making Anna cry. Besides, we both don’t know the whole story. We can’t just report this to them without any details. Anna may be the one who’s at fault, you know?” Claire hates drama. With a family like Anna’s, there would definitely be a drama going to happen if either of the Coleman boys comes.
“And here I thought you are on Anna’s side.”
“I’m on no one’s side, Harrison. Anna and Kyle are just my favorite couple, that is it.” Even if Anna is practically her granddaughter at some way, Claire wouldn’t just choose to side with Anna. If she has to, she will have to hear both sides.
