Reborn: The Lion To Hunt The Wolf - Chapter 188
Jing Zhe’s jaw dropped and she looked like a clown in Yue Wan’s eyes.
Yue Wan managed to stop her laughter with a great effort and said: “Miss Jing, my dad always says that one should wish for what they can have and what they are worthy of.”
Yue Wan gave a sarcastic laugh as she looked at Jing Zhe.
Jing Zhe’s expression dimmed and her eyes simmered with anger. ‘Do you mean that I am not worthy of your brother?!? You b**ch!’
However, during the whole conversation, Yue Xue didn’t speak a word, but her eyes squinted over at Yue Xiang’s back.
After a pause, the gaze turned sharp: ‘That’s weird! Why is there a new ȧssistant?’
Just as she turned her gaze away, her eyes locked onto Yue Wan’s. Her heart suddenly constricted, as if her neck was caught by a pair of invisible hands and clenched tightly with its five fingers.
In her previous lifetime, Yue Xue had always given her a gentle and gracious feeling, the impression of a superior nobility. That’s why she didn’t suspect her handwork in the Xiao family after marriage.
No matter what, the Jing family was related to the Xiao family’s powers. If the Xiao family no longer cared about her, things would be much easier to handle.
As for Yue Xue, until she got the results from the Shen Laboratory, she would have to hold back.
Yue Xue suddenly stood up and moved towards Yue Wan. Swifty, she took Yue Wan’s hand in her grasp: “Wan, we haven’t hung out for quite a while. You were always busy, either with your studies or with something else. You have to go out with us to celebrate this award!”
A thought arose in her mind and Yue Xu exclaimed: “Ah! I know a nice place. I’ve gone there with one of my classmates for her birthday. It’s called The BrutalHive. Why don’t we go there this weekend all together?”
Yue Wan’s final exams were starting next week and she didn’t want to take any risks: “But..”
Jing Zhe quickly interjected, “Xue Xue is right. I’ve heard about it as well, they serve great ċȯċktails there. I would like to toss a cup back as a celebration for breaking the record for the highest score. So, please join us, we won’t take much of your study time, it will be just an hour.”
Yue Wan sighed inside. ‘No wonder it was so peaceful these days. Someone was busy planning all day.’
People often say that birds of a feather flock together, how true indeed!
Looks like it’s time to teach Jing family a lesson.
Coming out of the Villa, the duo both got into the car quickly.
As soon the door was closed.
“Will she come?” Jing Zhe asked with her brows raised.
Yue Xue pupils constricted.
“Yue Wan is not the same old girl. Even if you scheme against her perfectly, she would not fall for it easily. She is not stupid so I guess that she will come well prepared and would only make things go her way.”
Jing Zhe staggered and squished Yue Xue’s hand tightly, her round, staring eyes almost fuming. “I’ve already prepared everything this far, and now you are talking like you not a part of it. B*tch, I- ”
Yue Xue caught her wrist, twisted it with a crackling sound it caused Jing Zhe to cry out in fear.
“Ah! It hurts!” Jing Zhe screamed as she felt as if her wrist was broken.
“I hate it when other’s threaten me.”
The icy cold words seeped out of the darkness of the car, like a demon emerging from hell, triggered goosebumps to form over Jing Zhe’s skin.
Yue Xue released Jing Zhe’s hand and inquired: “Miss Jing, how close are you to the Su family young Miss?”
“Very,” Jing Zhe shivered subconsciously while replying.
The smile on Yue Xue lips deepened bit by bit and her eyes turned as dark as the dense forest.
—-Back at Yue Villa—-
After that night, Ye Xian disappeared from City A, but, before leaving, he gave some of his trusted members into Yue Wan’s care.
Dong Yi-> the Leader of the Knight Guard would become her chauffeur.
Tao, A.K.A Big Guy-> was a cyber network hacker.
Yuya A.K.A Prince ->was a highly skilled ȧssassin.
Even Housekeeper Huang was staying at the Yue Villa to act as the chief cook.
Using the exam as an excuse, Yue Wan was able to escape from some of the matchmakings, but she would not be able to use that excuse forever.
However, the warning that she got from Xiao Hua still rang in her heart and made her flustered. ‘Curse that pervert!’
Little Bao, who was lying near her bed, was obediently looking through a picture book. He didn’t want to disturb his mommy so he controlled his urge to play with her.
Yue Wan, with her head, hung on the bed, was busy preparing for her exams with full concentration.
Currently, she was studying biological science and memorizing the various types of drugs, effects, and used for treatment, when her phone rang.
She put down her book and picked up her phone. To her surprise, Mrs. Shen was the one calling her.
Mrs. Shen did not bother with the fake formalities and went straight to the point as soon the call was connected.
“Little Wan, Are you free tomorrow? I wanted to take you somewhere.”
“Tomorrow!?!” Yue Wan exclaimed in shock.
Mrs. Shen replied with a giggle, “Yes, yes. We have not gone shopping together for a long time.”
In her mind she was shouting with joy, ‘The twins went on a school excursion so I can spend time with Little Wan!! Yipee!!’
Mr. Shen, who was eavesdropping, shook his head at his wife’s logic. If his memory served him correctly, she and Yue Wan had gone shopping recently and the excursion emptied half of his pocket.
Yue Wan had studied for two days continuously, so having a little break would be fine. They both agreed to meet at the Empire Pearl Complex the next day.
After the call had ended, one of the rules that Xiao Hua had made popped in Yue Wan’s head: ‘No touching and hugging; Especially the twins.’
It’s not like I am cheating!!
—-In Yue Crop—-
Mei Ling was having a difficult time at the company.
She thought that she would be placed under Master Yue, but after getting into her position, she knew that her plan had backfired.
Instead of being with Master Yue, she now had to work under Yue Xiang’s ȧssistant.
“I’m new here. May I ask, what is the Young Master like inside the company?” Mei Ling asked them with a sweet smile.
“I actually thought that you were different from others, Miss Mei. Turns out you are. ….
