Reborn: The Lion To Hunt The Wolf - Chapter 198
At that moment, Yue Xue’s phone blinked in flashes, she suddenly stood up with a tensed face looking at it.
Under the flickering light, Yue Xue’s expression was unfathomable. Looking at this Yue Wan asked: “What is it, Sister Xue?”
Yue Xue hid the phone towards her ċhėst and smiled: “It’s nothing, Cousin. I just need to go out and take this call. But my battery is down, would you mind giving me your phone.”
“Mmm. Go ahead!” Giving her phone, Yue Wan smirked as her first chess piece had made its move.
Jing Zhe grasped Yue Xue’s elbow and murmured: “Where are you going?”
Crushing the wrist that stopped her, Yue Xue uttered: “Stop worrying about me. Go and handle your stuff!”
Before Jing Zhe could reply, Yue Xue had already disappeared.
Jing Zhe took her hand back which was bruised. Massaging her wrist, she let out a forced smile with wicked eyes.
‘Today’s victim and the attacker will be from the Yue family.’
She turned to fix her eyes on Yue Wan who seemed to be thinking with her head down.
…..
Marching forward solemnly, Jing Zhe respectfully lifted the glass she was holding to toast Yue Wan, but her eyes could bȧrėly contain her feelings of jealousy, unwillingness, and anger.
“Miss Yue, in the name of the Xiao Family, I toast you with this glass.”
The corners of Yue Wan’s lips twitched as her eyes turned cold. ‘I will make you regret this day.’
Just then, Su Yunying, who didn’t have the mind to stay here when others were praising Yue Wan, stood up to leave for the washroom.
Jing Zhe, who was walking forward, tripped over something and ended up flying in Su Yunying’s direction.
Startled, Su Yunying didn’t have the time to act. Jing Zhe’s body slammed into her, while the ċȯċktail splashed on Su Yunying’s ċhėst, causing her to cry out in pain.
Yue Wan subconsciously stepped aside and managed to avoid the crash, but her white coat had some sprinkles of the drink.
“Jie Jie!!” An agonized voice cried out.
Su Jain-Rong hurried to her side and forcefully kicked Jin Zhe away: “Jie Jie! Are you alright?”
Su Yunying bit back her tears and shook her head. Her head was damped with the ċȯċktail. Embarrassed, she could not hold back on her anger.
‘Slap!’
Jing Zhe furrowed her eyebrows as she gingerly held her slapped face: “Bah! How dare you slap me? You b*tch! Don’t think too highly of yourself!”
Su Jain-Rong and Meng Jia supported Su Yunying and glared heavily at Jing Zhe.
“Are you blind? Don’t you know how to walk?”
Su Jain-Rong had long disliked Jing Zhe, but had put up with her time and time again for the sake of the Xiao family.
He reached out and clutched firmly onto Jing Zhe’s neck who was being supported by her friends, strangling her.
“Cough, cough…” Jing Zhe was choking through her pain, but her hand continued to struggle to free from the grasp.
While the commotion was occurring, Yue Wan took out Jing Zhe’s phone that was slipped on the couch and sent a message.
And deleted the sending proof after that.
—-At the same time with Yue Xue—
Standing before the bar counter, Yue Xue asked the bartender: “Where is the man who sat here before?”
The bartender shook his head: “I didn’t see it. Sorry, Ma’am.”
Clenching her fist, she bumped the counter: “Sh*t!”
Not waiting for a second, she hurriedly called someone by phone: “Track down the person who sat in place I’m standing, hurry!” she yelled.
Then she glared at the bartender and gave an equally sharp look: “Did he come alone or with a company? Why did he leave?”
Gulping down repeatedly, he said: “A little boy was with him and he left before having his drink.”
Yue Xue pondered: ‘Left without taking his drink! That means he came to meet someone. Who?’
Thinking that she clutched Yue Wan’s phone tightly.
—–Back to the room——
The scene immediately turned chaotic.
If they were not in the eye of the public, Su Yunying would have landed two more slaps on Jing Zhe’s face. However, looking at her brother’s action, she yelled in panic
“Jain! Stop it. Young Master Nan, please hold him back.”
Nan Heng held Su Jain-Rong and knocked some sense into him: “You idiot! What the hell are you doing? Do you want to be a fugitive?”
“Let me go. I will kill this impetuous sl*t. Just who does she think she is? She is not even worthy to breathe the same air as someone from the Su family. She is the dust beneath our feet and yet she has the audacity to pour a drink over my sister’s head?!? I will show you what it means to live a life worse than death.”
After being released from his grasp, Jing Zhe’s whole body abruptly collapsed onto the couch as she fought to catch her breath.
Hearing his remark, anger surged over her face: “That stupid bitch clearly walked into me, and yet you are blaming me?!?! You might be a fuċkɨnġ Su, but I have the backing of the Xiao family. Dust beneath your feet? You wish,” screamed Jing Zhe
Su Jain-Rong sneered with cold eyes: “The Xiao family?! Look at your face in the mirror before saying that. A cheap sŀut like you doesn’t deserve to claim the name, Xiao.”
That agitated Jing Zhe even more: “Ha! Just because you are a Su you think that you are untouchable?!? I will tell you right now, I did nothing wrong. Yue Wan was the one that tripped me, so if you want to blame someone, blame her. I am innocent.”
“Stop pushing the blame on the other. Miss Yue didn’t do anything. It all happened because of your negligence. Will it kill you to ask forgiveness for something you yourself caused?”
Nan Heng didn’t want the fight to be alleviated so he slowly ȧssessed the situation between the two parties and ordered the waiter to book another room for them.
Jing Zhe’s face started to turn purple with anger.
Why don’t they treat her like that sŀut Ran!! It’s all the b*tch Su Yunying’s fault. How dare she slap me in front of everyone?
Su Yunying quietly cursed under her breath and left the room, heading towards the washroom.
Nan Heng took Su Jain-Rong to another room to calm him down.
Meng Jia followed him and copying that one by one left the room.
No one noticed Yue Wan in a shadowed corner, a slight smile on her lips as she elegantly took a sip of her champagne.
—–With Jing Zhe——
After walking a certain distance, Jing Zhe recalled her main objective of tonight’s party: ‘Damn it! Because of the Sl*t Su, I completely forgot to implement my plan on that b*tch, Yue.’
Slapping her forehead, she walked back to the room and found it empty with no one: “Where did she go?”
Yue Wan’s disappearance caused Jing Zhe’s heart to leap wildly in her ċhėst. She had a very bad feeling about this.
Her phone rang at that moment. Jing Zhe took it out and pressed the answer buŧŧon. “Cousin Jingnan! Where are you?”
