Reborn: The Lion To Hunt The Wolf - Chapter 206
—In WAX—
Today was the final exam, so everyone was busy preparing and organizing their things.
In WAX the final exam would be held in the auditorium with the presence of 10 CCTV cameras and 20 invigilators, as three-sections were together, so that cheating would not be possible.
Chen Ai had reached the school in time, but she didn’t see Yue Wan anywhere. She asked Tai Sun who was revising the content of today’s language exam: “Where is Little Wan? Did you see her?”
Tai Sun shook his head: “No sign of her, did you check the washroom?”
“I did, but she’s not there.”
Tai Sun frowned, Yue Wan was always punctual: “Is the last night news was related to her?” he muttered.
Nervously, Chen Ai looked at her watch. There was half an hour left before the exams were to start, so there was still some time before she was considered to be late.
Nevertheless, by the time it was twenty minutes to the exams, Yue Wan still could not be seen anywhere.
At that time, Teacher An walked in the hall wishing good luck to his class students.
Chen Ai gritted her teeth and ran in the direction of Teacher An: “Teacher An, Yue Wan is not here yet and there are only twenty minutes left until the exams.”
Teacher An was alarmed. Today’s the first day of the high school final exams. It would be worse if Yue Wan, the top student, missed or delayed the exam.
Teacher An informed the invigilator to arrange for the students of Class One to enter the exam hall, after which Teacher An returned to his office to call the Yue family.
…..
Chen Ai, Tai Sun and Liang Li Hua waited at the entrance hall for Yue Wan.
They feared that the last night incident affected Yue Wan somehow.
“Believe in her. She will make it.” Tai Sun ȧssured as he patted Chen Ai’s head.
Chen Ai tightened her hold on the stationary item: “But that news….”
“Miss Yue is very intelligent. She can completely handle the situation well,” Tai Sun said while giving an odd stare at Liang Li Hua who was flinching in nervousness hearing Yue Wan’s name from the beginning for some unknown reason.
…
Suddenly, a rough voice shouted.
“You three get into the exam hall!” The invigilator arched their eyebrows and shouted at the trio.
The invigilator was from Military school, hence they were stricter with the students.
In order to not make the invigilator angry, they entered slowly.
Just as Liang Li Hua was about to enter, she heard hurried footsteps.
As she turned her head, She saw Yue Wan arriving in the nick of time with beads of perspiration on her forehead.
She wore a Close Neck Long Sleeve Woolen Dress in ash color and black legging with a Sandel scarf around her neck.
Liang Li Hua finally breathed a sigh of relief at Yue Wan’s sight before walking into the exam hall.
Looking at Yue Wan, Chen Ai mouthed after sitting in her seat: ‘Why are you late?’
Yue Wan shook her with the expression: ‘Will tell you later.’
However, when her gaze passed Liang Li Hua, she frowned and walked very slowly toward her desk.
Inside the exam hall.
“Alright, I will give out the exam papers now. Everyone be silent. Remember, no cheating is allowed.”
“If we find any cheating material on you, then you will be expelled without any future notice from WAX.”
At the invigilator’s order, the hall turned silent; no one dared to make a single sound. One could only hear the “swoosh swoosh” rustling sounds of the exam papers being handed down.
The first subject on the first day of the exams was on language. Even after last night’s episode, Yue Wan’s study didn’t affect a bit. She revised a lot in the past days and knew the knowledge inside and out. With her extraordinary memory capability even in the sleeping stage, she could answer all the questions perfectly.
The reason she came late was her daddy and Little Bao’s fault.
—That morning, before breakfast—-
After applying the foundation cream again and again to hide those bite marks created by a certain bastard, she was caught red-handed.
Under the mother bear’s X-ray vision, she was caught while her scarf crooked at the crucial moment.
Looking at the blemish, Yue Yeager was determined that something happened. “Who did it? Who did you meet yesterday?”
Yue Yeager felt that Little Wan’s oddity was related to Ye Xian(Xiao Hua). After all, previously, when they talked about Ye Xian, his daughter acted weird.
To escape from calamity, she thought about the perfect excuse.
Suddenly, Yue Xiang arrived and shifted the blame on poor Little Bao who was gulping his cat food.
Hearing his name, Little Bao looked up from the bowl, with his whisk full of food pieces, he meowed while tilting his head. ‘Huh!?’
Yue Yeager obviously didn’t buy it. “You brat! Stop picking on my grandson.”
Yue Yeager picked Little Boa like a rag and raised him above: “Take a look at the amount of food he eats daily. I bet, this fatty sleepwalked and thought of our Wan as his food.”
Little Bao’s eyes teared up, he stared at his grandpa: “Meoww! Meoww!”
Feeling sorry for his pitiful grandson, he hugged him from Yue Xiang’s grasp and started his long-lasting lecture.
Giving Yue Wan a wink, Yue Xiang rebuked in cold voice at Yue Yeager: “I heard that you didn’t finish your paperwork.”
Swallowing heavily, Yue Yeager blinked his eyes in chibi form. ‘How did he find that?!’
Yue Xiang remained calm while his forehead creased into a frown, appearing extremely annoyed: “Your weekend holiday is canceled and your working hours will be increased.”
Two swords struck Yue Yeager’s head. Jerked up, he hugged his son: “Xiang! Daddy can’t take it anymore. I still need to find a suitable partner for Wan.”
Yue Xiang smirked coldly with a darkened face, he looked down at his father who was in his chibi form mopping the floor: “Forget about trying to shirk off the responsibility by dragging Little Wan into this. You already took enough days for this nonsense. Also don’t wet my suit with your snort.”
Seeing his prosecutor withdrew, Little Bao who was sitting on his grandpa’s head in chibi form coldly stared at Yue Xiang and made aggressive hissing. ‘Meanie Uncle… Curse you to go bald.’
“Fatty… how does it feel to have a sleepover with me?” Yue Xiang smirked with a darkened face
Little Bao instantly recalled his past sleepover with Meanie Uncle. His black hair stood up in terror as he exclaimed in no: “Meowww”
Before leaving the home, Yue Wan sensed her brother and Little Bao seemingly dueled in the air with cold swords and knives.
Yue Wan helplessly put her palm on her face and left the room skipping her breakfast. ‘Little Bao, Forgive me.’
When it was time to hand in the papers, all the students who were in the same exam hall ġrȯȧnėd. Today was difficult.
Some students looked awful.
“This is bad. I… I did not finish my essay.”
“Don’t bring it up. I just scribbled the answers along with my hand flow.”
While everyone was busy tallying their answers, Chen Ai and Tai Sun rushed near Yue Wan: “What happened this morning?”
Tai Sun followed along with a frown: “What happened last night?”
Yue Wan stared at them uncontrollably and sighed. “Can you guys give me a break, I skipped my breakfast so I need to eat a bit before the next exam.”
Mentioning that, Chen Ai beamed with the glow: “Little Wan!!” she yelled.
Yue Wan jerked in surprise.
With a twinkle in her eye, Chen Ai clapped her hand: “Today they are giving chicken legs with sweet and sour ribs as it is exam time. Let’s have some as….. Tai Sun’s treat.”
Tai Sun’s jaw dropped by the ultra foodie shameless act.
Their eyes seemed to be stung by the light shining around her, causing them discomfort.
Tain Sun furrowed his brows uncontrollably, and murmured: “How come she thinks about food at this time?”
Yue Wan, who was shielding her eyes with a hand replied: “Only food is available in her dictionary. She only thinks about eating for 24hours.”
Tai Sun’s heart suddenly constricted in crisis, and he felt an inexplicable ache with the spasm: “Should I change my profession?”
Yue Wan replied plainly: “You better.”
Tai Sun signed and looked at Chen Ai who drooling over in imagination.
Yue Wan shifted his eyes away slowly to Liang Li Hua who was dazed in her own though: “Will you join us?”
“I….” Before Liang Li Hua could speak, her phone vibrated. Looking at the caller’s name, she frowned.
