Reborn: The Lion To Hunt The Wolf - Chapter 216
“Master! She is here.” Mr. Hong came to report. With a stern gaze, he emphasized the SHE strongly.
Elder Xiao’s face turned sour. “Old Tang is here?”
“Yes, Master. Plus, Jings are with her.” Mr. Hong whispered while raising his eyes to look at the door.
Looking at the entrance, Xiao Ran’s mind screamed in alarm.
Why are the Jings here? Right when the Yue family is here. This is too much of a coincidence.
Elder Xiao glanced at the door and then returned to lad snuggling in his ŀȧp warmth with a deep frown. Although he did not expect to see her soon, it was not that strange for her to show up. ‘She must be here for Jing Zhe.’
Following Advisor Yu was a graceful woman donned in a cheongsam. Old Tang strode haughtily into the living room like it was her home.
Jing Zhe, who followed behind Old tang had her head down. She was dressed casually but managed to be elegant and gorgeous. Today, she had taken care to dress up and was especially good to look at. Her brows and eyes were soft, her facial features refined, and she had a graceful temperament.
In comparison, Xiao Shen had on a low-key dress that showed off her status. Which was definitely not her style!
With one glance, they could see that Xiao Shen was holding a delicately crafted gift box.
Yue Wan sneered while slipping the ice cream in her hand: ‘My my …. they are well prepared. Must be that Old Tang’s scheme.’
Entering the living room, Jing Zhe’s eyes fell on Yue Wan, a rush of fire and envy surged through the heart!
Not only her, the moment Xiao Shen laid her eyes on Yue Wan, she almost lost control of her fury.
However, Old Tang’s voice stopped them from breaking out: “Master Xiao, hope you forgive me for not notifying prior coming to the Xiao home.”
Elder Xiao glanced back: “It’s okay, you have been away from the Xiao for the past 30 years, so you might have forgotten the rules. Unlike those who never have the intention to follow it.”
He looked at Old Tang in surprise, but then his eyes turned icy when he looked at the Jings.
Jing Zhe’s expression stiffened. She bit on her tongue, to control her emotion.
Xiao Shen appeared as though she heard nothing and brought forth the gift before Elder Xiao: “Uncle, this box is full of priceless books. It’s been passed down from generations and has been treasured by the succeeding dynasties. My mother spent a lot of effort to get it.”
Elder Xiao sent a piercing look at the box. His face depicted a scary and fierce storm.
Before he could explode, all of a sudden, a gentle voice came from the couch. It carried gracefulness and a bit of jeering.
“Mrs. Jing, you are really considerate. However, you do lack in a certain part of the brain which holds education. One could easily see through your intentions by your act.” Yue Wan looked at her mockingly.
Xiao Shen’s face darkened, her eyes shining with resentment and anger. As if saying, ‘Who are you to educate me like this?’
However, Old Tang replied calmly, “Does Young Miss mind pointing out exactly what we did wrong?”
Xiao Ran didn’t care about Old Tang, she chided vehemently at Xiao Shen and her eyes were full of sarcasm, “Aunt Shen, you still have no idea what you did wrong? Or did you forget the rules of the Xiao family after your daughter was entangled in murder? We won’t accept gifts or bri-ber-y in the Xiao family, even if it is a past birthday or wedding gift.”
Xiao Shen forcefully smiled, her blood boiling with anger. She never thought that this b*tch Yue Wan would not only not give her face, but also insult and humiliate her.
Old Tang’s expression looked unhappy, even a little cold as she spoke: “Princess Xiao is absolutely right, but you missed the point that I’m a part of the Xiao family, so the rules won’t apply to me, unlike the outsiders.” She kept her face straight, but her gaze casually moved toward Yue Wan sitting next to Xiao Ran. With one sentence, she revealed her foothold inside the Xiao family.
Xiao Ran stood up and moved close to Old Tang blocking her view: “Forgive my memory. I never saw your name in the Xiao family tree…”
Dare to stare at my sister in law. Bring it on!
“You can not learn a certain thing from those bits of white sheets. You still have a lot to master in order to become the heir to the Xiao family. You shouldn’t be a Princess by name, you need to earn it. If you want to be the best, learn from the best.” Old Tang strictly replied.
Yue Wan understood that Old Tang wanted to establish her place in the family since she just returned not long ago. ‘Not bad! But you made my stage so bright. I will repay everything from the past, including interests.’
Elder Xiao’s face hardened. Massaging the little lad in his ŀȧp, he said: “I have a guest to attend to today, so it is improper of you to enter the Xiao home without a word. Leave now.”
Old Tang’s expression remained unchanged, but her grumpy voice turned cold as dead: “Are you disregarding me for a mere outsider? Who disgraced and ruined the reputation of the Xiao Family by framing my child?”
Xiao Shen added, “Uncle, I know that you won’t believe us but think about it. What good does it have for us to kill one’s, own family? Jingnan is like another son for me and Zhe always regarded him as her big brother. My daughter is simple and pure who never even hurt a single fly.”
If they didn’t receive Elder Xiao’s favour today, things would definitely turn sour.
She looked over at Yue Wan with sadness and disappointment. “Miss Yue, why are you framing us? How can you be so malicious?”
Yue Wan smirked with a sarcastic smile: ‘Oh please! You are giving me too much credit for your daughter’s stupid plan.’
Reading her sister’s expression, Yue Xiang pondered: ‘I should’ve bought me a camera. My sister looks so cute.’
<Author: In which eye did you see her cute, you bird brain.><Editor: Yue Xiang is perfect in every way… if he says his sister is cute, his sister is cute… you are the bird brain….:P>
Yue Yeager didn’t like the way Xiao Shen looked at his daughter. Understanding her gaze and he said coldly: “I’m impressed that you can lie so well without batting an eye. Your daughter played a major role in inviting my Wan to that unfamiliar place, have you forgotten about that?”
Xiao Ran clenched her hand tightly that was wanting to rip apart her disgusting mouth. “Also, the whole venu was booked under your so-called sainted daughter along with the date and time. It’s not the first time you guys tried to scheme against each other, have you forgotten what the two of you conspired to do at my grandpa’s party or are we going to pretend that didn’t happen?”
Scared out of her wits, Xiao Shen’s lips parted as if she wanted to rebuke, but no words came out. She quickly turned her eyes to meet Old Tang but only got to have glared coldly. ‘DAMN IT! Mother didn’t know about the party thing.’
