Reborn: The Lion To Hunt The Wolf - Chapter 221
—-Next-Day—-
‘This is the life,’ thought a little black cat as he was being carried by someone… he was too lazy to open his eyes and see who was carrying him. All he knew was that he was warm and oh so sleepy… ‘When the sun is up, it is time to nap in the warmth. When the sun is down it is time to nap in the darkness…it is a perfect life of sleeping and spending time with mommy…’
Don’t get him wrong, he could still hear the argument between his mommy and Grandpa, but when he opened his one eye and found the world covered in darkness, the allure of sleep called to him again. Burrowing into the warmth of the arms that held him tightly, he stretched out his front paws, claws extending before retracting them again and turning into a little black ball of fur.
It seemed like only minutes had passed when the sweet peacefulness of sleep started to drift away and he found himself awake for the second time. Out of the arms that had carried him into sleep during the night, he was now in a blanket padded basket with the sun shining through the car window warming him up. Enjoying the warmth of the sun, the tiny black cat stretched again, this time yawning and displaying his little fangs secretly feeling that they were as large as a lion.
Unfortunately for him, the sun would never be as warm as his mommy so he started to mew, demanding the attention that was only for him. ‘Mommy! Mmmmmooooommmmmyyyyy!’
The next second, a warm hand came out to stroke him. Starting at his head, between his two ears and moving a gentle, warm hand firmly down his neck, following his spine and ending at his tail. The action repeated a few times and the combination of the warmth of the sun and the warmth of his mommy caused his eyes to droop yet again as sleep claimed him.
The third time his eyes opened, he looked around. He was no longer in the car, but rather inside a turquoise two story building that kinda looked like a small house instead of the Yue Villa.
‘How did- What hap- Huh?’ he meowed to himself as he tried to figure out what had happened. Jumping to his feet he hurriedly looked around, looking for anything familiar. That was when he saw her, walking out of the shadows towards him, he saw his mommy wearing a soldier’s camouflage uniform.
Suddenly he remembered that “man’s” words… ‘Special training at the Yue Military Camp for 10 days!!’
‘Stupid mean man…. Mommy is his sister! How could he be so mean to her?!?’ hissing to himself he vowed not to acknowledge him as his Uncle any more. ‘No one could be mean to mommy… no one!’
Nodding to himself, he got up and decided to go and explore his new home. On the first floor, he came across a kitchen and living room with well-crafted couch and a coffee table.
He wandered around, a question pondered his mind. He clearly knew they were inside the military area, but this room looked nothing like those Military rooms on TV.
Feeling anxious, he came across the staircase and ran upstairs, determined to know what was hidden on the second floor.
Finding the first room on the second floor, he came across a king-size bed, a dressing table, and even a 60 inch LCD TV that hung on the wall opposite the bed. And there’s a Jacuzzi inside the bathroom.
A Jacuzzi… mmmmmmm….. But I won’t need it. All I want is that…
Face full of smiles, the little black cat popped happily up on the bed and found a soft position to lay his body. The sun streamed through the windows of the room and once again hugged his body in warmth. His eyes slowly closed yet again as he thought: ‘My paradise!’
—-With Yue-Wan—-
Yue Wan signed after putting her stuff in the bedroom on the second floor: ‘Is this the preparations you were talking about, daddy?’
Yue Wan found it odd that her daddy requested her brother to give him permission to organize her accommodations or else he would invade the base.
In order to stop him, Yue Xiang gave in.
“Daddy, you are so going to get it from big brother.” Yue Wan muttered.
After placing her things, Yue Wan tied her hair in a french braid and picked up the empty basket: “Little Bao, let’s go.”
Only silence responded instead, Yue Wan looked back and signed: “This guy…”
On the bed, Little Bao was sleeping with an unusual posture, his buŧŧ was raised up and his face inside the fluffy pillow.
Slapping him lightly, Yue Wan lifted him up from the bed: “This training is for both us, so don’t slack off or else you will be punished by big brother.”
Little Bao opened his lazy eyes with one big yawn and titled his head: ‘Training? Me? Does that man lost his brain?’
—–The General’s Office—
“May I come in?” Yue Xiang heard the sound of Yue Wan’s voice loud and clear.
“Come in.” Yue Xiang replied from inside.
Yue Wan entered the room and saw her big brother with his head bent over his desk and writing some reports. He looked very attentive and attractive in his military uniform.
A soldier in a green military uniform stood to the side of Yue Xiang. His posture was particularly tall and straight, especially his pair of bright, jet-black eyes. He was Bai Zhen, the chief investigator for the Yue Military.
Soon, Yue Xiang puts down his pen.
“You, go back to your unit,” He ordered Bai Zhen.
Bai Zhen saluted him and left with his report. As he passed Yue Wan he gave her nod as a way of greeting and turned his attention to her basket with a peculiar gaze: ‘A cat??’
“Come over here.” Yue Xiang’s face lighted up with a smile, making him look even more attractive.
However, Little Bao inside the basket shivered in fright as he felt something bad was going to happen.
Yue Xiang smiled as he gestured for Yue Wan to come closer. “Now that you are here, you are bound to be trained. The first thing you must learn in military training is to maintain silence. In the army, you must maintain absolute discipline. Without the approval of the instructor, you are not supposed to make any comments or actions. Understood?”
“Yes!” Yue Wan said, straightening her back and waiting for his next command.
Yue Xiang raised his brow and gazed daringly at the guy hiding inside the basket: “Understood?”
‘No,’ Little Bao hid his face with his paw to avoid looking at that man.
“Did you hear what I said?!” His dark-blue eyes caught all of the brat’s action and it gave off a ferocious look.
His fierce voice jerked Little Bao up and made him meow subconsciously: ‘Fine!!’
Yue Xiang’s devilish smile grows stronger. He was looking forward to Little Bao’s hard training. “Take a look at your training schedule for the next 10 days.”
Yue Wan read it and found it interesting. She had to get up at five o’clock in the morning and had a rest at nine in the evening. In between, she would undergo various different training like combat skills, infiltration skills, surveying, and mapping courses.
On the other hand, Little Bao was cursing Yue Xiang a million times as at the bottom of the instruction it specified in Bold letter- ‘No Snacks.’
