Reborn: The Lion To Hunt The Wolf - Chapter 246
Yue Xiang, who was engaged in a business conversation didn’t mind his sister’s interference, he carried on after getting the bowl. “What do you think about the recent avenue?”
Yue Yeager started to return to the conversation, picking up from where they left off. Taking a sip of the hot soup he opened his mouth to give his opinion, “This is our new product which is combined with Tian Tech, so we must be very careful with that and we mustn’t make any blunders.”
Yue Xiang took a mouth full of a spoon before replying: “Don’t worry, the new staff has already memorized all the product information and they know it like the back of their hands. I’ve also tallied the information with the clients who have purchased the products. Therefore, if there is any issue, we will know about it first.”
Looking at the sales rate chart on the table, Yue Wan said in astonishment, “I didn’t expect there to be such great sales.”
Yue Yeager smiled as he took another sip and said, “I didn’t expect it either. Most of the clients were interested in the Yue products due to our new investor.”
Most people, like those top businessmen, are actually interested in their products in hopes of seizing the PISAC Investor’s grace.
In her past, PISAC appeared after her father’s death and the President of the corporation fought against some affluent family from Empire City. However, it never ȧssociated with Yue Corps as far as she knew, so why now?
“Why have they appeared in City A now?” Yue Wan muttered under breath.
Hearing that, Yue Xiang’s eyes stared in surprise: “Where should they appear?”
In a casual manner, Yue Wan replied without thinking much: “Empire Ci….” Next second, Yue Wan bit her tongue to avoid speaking more. ‘Me and my big mouth!’
Her voice entered his ears like a sharp wind, stunning Yue Xiang. His gaze glinted. He felt rather confused. Though his face’s reaction was masked, he was startled inside. ‘Did she know something?’
A short silence occurred around them. Yue Wan noticed the gaze from her brother and she frowned slightly. She nearly forgot that Yue Yeager was quick-witted. If he asked her why she said it, what should she say? Lying was impossible with him. When she thought about this, Yue Wan’s eyes instantly dimmed.
“Empire city! Why?” There was a mix of emotions that could not be concealed in Yue Xiang’s eyes.
Anxiety and difficulty could not be hidden in Yue Wan’s eyes, she bit onto her plump lips out of habit and she met Yue Xiang’s deep eyes. Their gaze was locked with each other.
Yue Xiang grew doubtful almost immediately seeing her hesitation.
Right then, Yue Yeager’s voice cried in happiness: “Ah! So tasty!! No wonder they say a bowl of soup is just a way of screwing you out of a meal. Little Wan, this is very delicious.”
Yue Wan quickly changed her tone and cheerfully clapped her hand: “If daddy loves it then it means my hard work has paid off.”
“So tell me, what you want, my cute daughter?” Yue Yeager pinched her little fat cheek. He knew his daughter very well, “You did this for something, right?”
Yue Wan hesitantly said, “About that….”
“Knock…Knock!” The door was knocked again but this time by Uncle Wang, “Master, we have a visitors.”
Hearing that Yue Wan bounced with excitement, “Daddy, hope you forgive me this once.”
Yue Yeager’s brow twitched nonstop, his cold eyes blinking unpleasantly. ‘Something is not right!’
Yue Xiang revealed a serious look. “You invited them!! Think about the consequences.”
Yue Wan showed him her best puppy eyes. “I can’t say no to their request. They won’t trouble you at all. Believe me!”
“Them!!” Yue Yeager cast his son a side glance seeking the truth.
Yue Xiang frowned. This would probably be the most challenging task that he’d ever undertaken.
So…
Yue Xiang had already sent the respective message to someone to aid him with the upcoming war.
—At the same time—
Inside the car.
“Did something good happen there, sir?” Dong Yi from the driver seat asked Xiao Hua who was sitting in the backseat.
“Does it look that way to you?” A cold voice came forward.
“Yes, sir. It does.” Looking through the rearview mirror, Dong Yi replied. In his Prince’s angry-looking eyes and his large frame, he was used to seeing them always filled with hate, lifeless and killing intentions, but now there was warmness and liveliness. ‘….What a relief. All because of our Mistress’
Xiao Hua sat staring at the computer as his slender fingers rested elegantly on the keyboard, typing on it from time to time, producing a crisp sound which was actually an additional clattering menace.
However, his lips were slowly curved up. He then looked back fondly at the mobile phone’s screensaver, where Yue Wan and Little Bao hugged each other.
Though he wanted to cut that brat out, somehow this picture gave him bliss. In his mind, Xiao Hua pictured the two of them as his wife and son, his only world. This feeling was fascinating. It wished that he would spend a lifetime together. He didn’t mind having a cat..no ..no a little black panther as his son.
‘You have a red-call, boss!’ A voice came from his ŀȧptop.
Red-call: Emergency.
Xiao Huo opened the video chat, where his subordinate stated that his illegal activities and transaction could remain inaudible to anyone on the outside.
Hearing the information from the other side, his handsome face sank bit by bit. Finally, his handsome brows turned into a knot and his dark eyes flickered with an uncertain light. “Send me the file.”
Next second, his mail icon jumped with a red dot. He opened it.
The computer screen did not show the expected stock market future prices and other business information but serious reports and pictures regarding a person’s deaths in a gruesome manner.
Xiao Hua’s grave expression stared at the report for quite a while, then inquired in a lowered voice to the caller, “Is this report accurate?”
An era passed before Xiao Hua finally hung up on the call. His entire being was also covered with a cold hostility that made one feel very uneasy.
Looking at Xiao Hua’s cold and distant face, Dong Yi trembled in his heart: ‘Did someone provoked the mighty lord!!’
Finally, gathering some courage, he asked: “Prince what happened?”
Xiao Hua snapped out of his thoughts quickly and closed the ŀȧptop in force. “Did you dig out the information regarding the woman who contacted Tian Meng? Who killed her?”
“We couldn’t find the mastermind, but we did find out that she had changed her appearance before coming to the Yue Crop.”
“Anything else..” Xiao Hua clenched his jaw and gazed outside with raged eyes.
Suddenly, Dong Yi remembered the report he received this morning: “Prince, we found one more similar case like Lu Jia’s death. It happened during a peculiar day.”
With his forehead resting on his hand, Xiao Hua had a subtle creepy smile flashed across his face. “Send every detail to your Misses. She knows what to do.”
A light lit up near him. There was an incoming message on his muted phone.
Xiao Hua stared for more than ten seconds and then his expression turned stormy. He ordered: “Change of schedule. We are going to YUE VILLA. NOW!”
Dong Yi was left puzzled for a moment then, but still, he did as his Prince said: “Okay!”
However, behind him, that man was emitting a demonic charm that sent shivers under his spine. ‘Holy mother please save me!!’
