Reborn: The Lion To Hunt The Wolf - Chapter 257
After a long time, Yue Wan replied with a heavy heart, “If I was you, I would have long guessed that he was dead.”
Liang Li Hua’s expression became stiff, and there was an unspeakable sorrow in his eyes, “…”
Passing a file that Yue Wan had received from her brother before, she revealed, “His body was found lying in a ditch after more than 2 months had passed and the corpse was rotted beyond imagination. It took some time to identify him. His name is Joon, Young Joon.”
Touching the decomposed picture, Liang Li Hua’s tear rolled down her cheek. Her breathing became rapid and her throat lumped with sorrow.
“He was working under my big brother as a secret spy. They lost contact during the Last autumn week.” (Right before Yue Wan’s rebirth)
Liang Li Hua clutched the picture close to crumbling. Her hoarse voice was denied repeatedly, “No… I don’t believe it. He promised… He promised me… No! This has to be a mistake.”
She felt that her head was distended and hurt like hell. She shook her head vigorously to wake herself up from this dream. Because he promised to be back soon. That’s right! This must not be him.
That day when Young Joon proposed to her inside a small noodles shop came before her eyes. Her heart refused to accept the truth.
Yet hearing Yue Wan’s words, her complexion turned worse and her entire body felt weak. She got out of the car and coincidentally met with Yue Wan’s undazed gaze which unveiled that it was all real.
Next second, Liang Li Hua’s body crumbled down the floor like a puddle of water while slamming the picture towards her ċhėst.
Before leaving the room, Yue Wan said, “I will ask big brother to let you see the place where he is resting.”
She meant the cemetery.
Liang Li Hua was left alone in the empty room.
She felt really… fearful, as though she had lost something important along with her love.
Liang Li Hua shut her eyes, and the tears spinning in the rims of her eyes finally shed. With a loud shrike, she screamed with grief, “Ah!….waaaa!”
She grieving for the loss of her love and her friends. She lost everything in this life.
——-
Closing the door, Yue Wan stood there silently.
Right then, a warm body hugged her from behind, and a hoarse voice appealed, “It’s okay. I’m here.”
Hearing his voice, Yue Wan turned back and saw her man Xiao Hua standing with eyes filled with warmness and love. There was some perspiration running down his forehead which showed that he rushed to get there.
Regardless of where he went, he still radiated an aura of elegance. He never understood why his self-control, which he was always proud of, would crumble in front of this girl.
After getting calls from Yue Xiang, he raced here like a projectile. He was pretty worried about her, but now seeing her safe, he breathed a sigh of relief.
“Hua,” her throaty voice whispered as she clasped the hem of his suit.
“I’m here.” Xiao Hua kissed Yue Wan’s lips, and his eyes were filled with enough gentleness to drown a person.
With furrowed brows, his gaze carried traces of worry. He raised his hand and stroked her head. In a tone that showed that his heart ached and felt helpless, he asked, “Are you hurt somewhere?”
Yue Wan wordlessly shook her head. She looked at Xiao Hua with a confused expression. She hadn’t been thinking when she came out. She had only wanted to vent anger for backstabbing her, however, looking at her friend’s current appearance, she felt dejected.
She inhaled once before calling out, “Hua!”
Xiao Hua sighed affectionately and ċȧrėssed her cheek. He saw her looking like a small hunched creature, his gaze softened, “What do you want?” He spoke warmly and tenderly.
Extending her arm, Yue Wan spread her arms and murmured with tears at her rim of the eyes, “Comfort me?”
Xiao Hua’s heart suddenly softened, he couldn’t bear to see her cry. His dėsɨrė to pamper her couldn’t be increased any further, “Okay.”
He alighted a step closer by Yue Wan’s side, wrapping his arms around her waist. One hand was around her waist and the other hand was on her head. He tightly pressed her against his ċhėst.
It was his queen’s request. How could he refuse?
A loving glint flashed across Xiao Hua’s eyes as he watched his wild cub slip into his embrace.
Within the security of his embrace, Yue Wan curled up in his embrace as if she had missed him. Her posture showed absolute dependence.
Holding her soft smooth body in his embrace, Xiao Hua sighed softly. He kissed her forehead lovingly, “I’m sorry for not shielding you properly.”
Yue Wan could only clasp her hands tightly around Xiao Hus’s back, for her body had all but melted under the tender voice that made Yue Wan to forget the sadness.
—In the car—
Chen Ai stared at him with eyes full of hatred and jealousy for separating her from her love. She put a hand to her ċhėst dramatically, “Do you know how difficult it is to have a meal prepared? Yet we wasted it! We will be cursed by The Kitchen Gods to die in hunger!”
Tai Sun was annoyed, “Go on! No one will stop you. Run back to the hotel now. Maybe you’d get to have some leftovers!”
Chen Ai sulked near the window with a getup of an ancient old woman dress.
Tai Sun could not stand it anymore, “Fine, fine, My King! I will make an order for a full truck of food to be delivered to your home. Is that enough?”
Now Chen Ai was planning in the corner with a weird face. “No one cares about those desserts! Poor them…huhuhu!”
Massaging his temples, Tai Sun took out an exquisite dessert from his parcel which he secretly ordered before, “The others were too difficult to bring back, I’ve only got this creamy strawberry cake here!”
Chen Ai flew over him, “Oh! Cei-Fei, my dear Cei-Fei… I know you care for your Mighty Emperor!”
Tai Sun’s face darkened, “If you speak any more nonsense, I will take back them.”
Chen Ai quickly took the dessert as far away as possible, “Dont! I will raise your position to the Noble Concubine.”
Chen Ai started eating it with her bȧrė hands and kept on sending daggers at Yue Wan.
‘We escaped danger in the nick of time and her thought is full of Food. What an idiot!’ Tai Sun signed. ‘I feared about my future offsprings!’
