Reborn: The Unexpected Twist - Chapter 259
Lee Minjoon and Jiyoung panicked.
They had a feeling that they were done for when they got to learn that the driver they hired to kill Jinhee was at the police’s custody, and seeing how that was the case, both of them panicked on whether or not the driver will be revealing about them.
If the truth comes out to the surface, it would be inevitable for Minjoon to avoid being behind the bars, and seeing how much evidence the truck driver had regarding him, he decided that it would be a better idea for him to change his current location.
Hiding like a coward seemed to be a better option to him than facing the police and media, and being behind the bars for years.
After he had gotten the information about Jinhee’s accident, Minjoon could not stop shivering, and Jiyoung pressed his hand softly.
Jiyoung was much safer than Minjoon in this case for she was not directly involved. Nonetheless, if this matter becomes known, she knew that the Lee family would not be safe from humiliation, and maybe, she would not be able to go outside properly.
Lee Minjoon turned to look towards Jiyoung and frantically, said, “Call Jinkyung. She would be able to help me. After all, she has connections to Han Taeho, and Taeho will be able to get me out of this predicament.”
Lee Jiyoung nodded and voiced out, “That is a good idea. Han Taeho is a powerful man, and he can easily to do that.”
Nonetheless, before Jiyoung could make a call at Jinkyung, the door to the room was pushed open, and wearing a worried expression upon her face, she stepped into the room.
Regardless of the expression on Jinkyung’s face, Minjoon began to feel hope rise within him after seeing his daughter. Maybe she could bring him out from this problem somewhat with the help from Han Taeho.
With the current problems going through the Moonstone Enterprise and now this, Minjoon could find his stress level increasing, and probably, Jinkyung could alleviate that.
As the door behind her closed, Jinkyung rushed further into the room. Minjoon’s and Jiyoung’s eyes did not miss how panicked Jinkyung appeared to be at that very moment.
“What is the matter, Jinkyung-ah?” Jiyoung questioned, trying to seem as composed as possible.
She can not let Jinkyung know that something had happened until or unless the truth is revealed. Although very much unlikely, it could also be that they would be able to convince the police that they were just being framed.
“Dad, Mom, did you see the news yet?” Jinkyung questioned.
“Why? What is the matter?” Minjoon inquired.
Seeing how Jinkyung seemed at this moment, Minjoon could easily see that it is something serious, and he had his heart beating rapidly within his chest. Anxiety grew within him by each passing second, and at this rate, he might have a heart attack.
Extending her hand toward the remote on the glass table, Jinkyung picked it up, and whilst turning the remote towards the television, Jinkyung turned on the television.
With the growing fear on what could be going on, the couple increased their courage to stare at the television, and it seemed that currently the news were going on.
Placing concentration upon the television, Minjoon and Jiyoung watched what the news reporter had to say as both of them had sweat dripping their faces.
“Lee Minjoon, CEO of Moonstone Enterprise, will be undergoing investigation. Evidences were found against him for embezzlement, and because of alleged misappropriation of fund, the police will be taking him for investigation.
Evidence on how some of the products under the brand were exchanged with lower quality product could be found, and mistreatment of workers is visible within the Enterprise,” The News Reporter vocalised.
Lee Minjoon had no courage to watch the news any longer, and he could feel his body trembling. Minjoon had no idea on how those secrets he worked hard to hide came out to the surface.
Minjoon had no strength within him to keep awake, and a sharp headache went through his head as he placed his hand there. Realizing that her father in pain, Jinkyung immediately turned off the television.
“Father, are you alright?” Lee Jinkyung questioned— her voice showing concern.
Minjoon had no idea on who it was that had enmity with him or what to do at this very moment. His bottom lip quivered as he thought of what possibly might happen to him.
A sharp pain went through his chest, and extending his hand towards his chest, he held it tightly in order to alleviate some of the pain, which went through it.
Lee Minjoon had a difficult time breathing. Noticing his state, Jinkyung moved closer to her father and held his shoulder in order to make her father be more composed.
“Father, calm down. Everything will be alright. Han Taeho— I will give him a call; He most definitely has an idea on how to get out of this,” Jinkyung voiced out.
Her hand trembled. Although she was somewhat worried about her father, she was mostly concerned about herself.
She wondered about how her classmates would be looking at her if the matter got out to them, and she might even be turned into a target for bullying. Jinkyung just hoped that Han Taeho could make her father seem innocent regardless of what the truth was.
“Yes, calm yourself down, darling. I am sure we can find a way out of this,” Jiyoung stated whilst patting on Minjoon’s back.
Turning towards Lee Jinkyung, Lee Minjoon gripped both of her hands, causing her to raise one of her eyebrows, and Minjoon pleaded, “Please, Jinkyung-ah, please. Dad begs of you to ask for Taeho’s help and have him go everything.
If he can not give me back my position, I will be satisfied as long I can stay out of being behind the bars. Please say me, Jinkyung-ah.”
“Father, don’t panic. I will try calling him and convincing him.”
