Reborn: The Unexpected Twist - Chapter 297
As her eyes were clouded with tears, Jinhee vaguely saw the path she was walking in. She was not in the correct mind at that moment, and the stares she was given by the strangers was not noticed by her.
A throbbing pain went through her head while she felt as if her chest was crushed into multiple pieces. Jinhee had no idea on who to trust.
To her, it felt as if Taehyun played with her badly and was probably laughing at how she was fooled this easily. She did not understand why Taehyun would be putting in his effort to do this, but she felt completely betrayed.
No wonder she had never seen Taehyun and Taeho at the same place before. The fact that Taeho was sixteen year old and did not attend school did not see suspicious to her anymore.
Everything was starting to make sense to her, and everytime she planned to meet up with Taeho, Taehyun always made an excuse to be outside. Jinhee took herself as a fool to have not found all of this suspicious.
Jinhee stood on the footpath beside the road, and raising her line of sight, her eyes were on the traffic signal. But her concentration was not upon it.
She had no clue on how to alleviate the ache that spread through her entire chest, and Jinhee had no idea on how much longer she could hold it in without collapsing down.
More tears escaped her eyes, and when her eyes fell upon how the traffic changed colour, she absentmindedly stepped forward on to the road. Her mind was too captivated at that moment to pay proper attention to the things around her.
That is when, Jinhee heard the people around her scream. She did not understand why they were doing so, and the reason was not what she was curious about in the first place.
Then, at that very second, something happened, and it was too fast for her to properly comprehend it. Her body fell against the road, and a wince left her mouth at the harsh contact.
As her head hit something hard, Jinhee could feel herself losing consciousness, and at that moment, that felt like an incredible thing to Jinhee. Maybe she should sleep for now.
But before going into the darkness, one thing remained imprinted into her mind, and seeing the vague view of the person in front of her, she wondered whether or not she was hallucinating about Han Taehyun.
“Watch out, Jinhee!”
That was the last thing she heard, and a small smile formed on her face. What was happening before her was something she remained clueless to, and prior to going into the darkness, listening to his voice sounded nice.

A sharp pain went through her head as Jinhee sat up, and raising her head, she touched the bandage which was wrapped around it. Her arm was cladded in a bandage as well, and a wince left her mouth.
Thoughts about what happened before she had lost her consciousness began to flood inside her mind, and she recalled about Taehyun’s betrayal.
That was enough to cause an ache to emit through Jinhee’s cheeks, and tears began to sting in her eyes. Her chest felt suffocated in that moment, and she found herself being close to an emotional mess.
Raising her hand, Jinhee rubbed away the tear from the corner of her, and regardless of how much determined she was to not fall weak, it was not possible for her.
Then, she remembered about how she hit the road before losing consciousness, and it was as if she was being pushed away by someone. At that moment, she recalled on how she had heard Taehyun’s voice, and the thoughts of worse possibilities came in her mind.
Getting down from the bed, Jinhee decided on going outside to see what the matter was. She vaguely recalled about people around her yelling about an incoming truck.
But at that moment, she was too occupied to think clear mindedly, and subconsciously, she ignored all those screams of the people.
There was one thing Jinhee greatly feared at this moment, and as her heart beat rapidly within her chest, she hoped for that to be not the case. Jinhee found herself breaking into cold sweat when she extended her hand towards the door knob.
Breathing was starting to become difficult for Jinhee, and she was growing more anxious. Her legs trembled while she pulled open the door.
Despite of what all had Taehyun had done to her, Jinhee did not wish for anything life-threatening when it came to him, and she did not believe that she will be able to endure that especially if it was due to her.
When Jinhee was about to walk out of the hospital room, a nurse stood in front of her— who intended to originally enter her room to check up on her— but seeing Jinhee like this was able to surprise the nurse.
“Miss, what are you doing out here? You should be getting in? You are not completely healed at, and you might feel dizzy,” The Nurse vocalised.
That was not Jinhee’s main concern at that moment, and almost in a state of panic, she questioned, “What happened to me? Was there anyone who was beside me?”
“Miss, you were brought here due to hitting the road, and it seemed that the boy protected you from being collided by the truck. However, in return for that, he had to endure the attack, and currently, he is under a coma,” The Nurse explained, “The truck driver was under the influence of alcohol and drove during the wrong signal.”
At that moment, Jinhee’s head went blank, and she took a step back. She had a hard time processing what the nurse had just said and took a step backward. A part of her was not willing to believe those words.
“That can’t be it,” Jinhee said, “It is not possible. He can not be in coma. How could it be? No way, he is fine. This is a dream. All of this has to be a nightmare. There is no way something had happened to him. This has to be a lie!”
