Reborn: The Unexpected Twist - Chapter 298
Lee Jinhee’s body trembled at that moment, and she had no clue on how to compose herself. The entire situation had left her frightened, and her knees were close to giving out.
Hearing that Taehyun was in coma was not something she could endure, and all the thoughts how he tricked her the entire time was wiped away from her mind. That was not her concern any longer.
Extending her hand towards Jinhee, the nurse held Jinhee’s shoulders and vocalised, “Compose yourself, Miss. This is not good for your health. The hit you have received was not light—”
“THAT DOESN’T MATTER! My health shouldn’t be the concern now! He is at the coma currently! How could that even be possible? He was just with me couple of hours ago. How is this even possible? Where is he at this moment? I-I c-can’t believe this,” Jinhee vocalised.
“He is at a room currently, Miss, and you have to rest now. After a while, you can go and visit him,” The Nurse voiced out.
A sharp pain went through Jinhee’s head, and she found herself feeling slightly dizzy. However, that was not enough to faze Jinhee or decrease her determination.
“I HAVE TOLD YOU THAT I AM FINE! What is his room number? I need to see him right now! This is urgent,” Jinhee voiced out.
“He is at VIP ⁿ and at the room number 20,” The Nurse replied unable to deal with Jinhee at that moment.
After hearing the Nurse’s reply, Jinhee ran out of the room despite the Nurse’s calls after her, and the pounding headache inside her head did not stop her motion in any way.
Tears flowed down her eyes as she looked both ways to find the room Taehyun was at. Although I her sight was slightly blurry, she was able to make out the numbers.
Seeing the number 19, Jinhee made turn towards the left. That is when her head collided against the wall, and a wince left her mouth. But it did not stop her from moving.
Noticing the door with the number plate ’19’, Jinhee’s knees gave out, and she collapsed on the floor. Two guards stood outside of the door, and Jinhee was aware that Taehyun lied unconscious behind that door.
She was well aware of dangerous coma could be, and there was a really high chance of Taehyun never waking up from it. As tears kept on falling down her eyes, she found herself being drowned within self-condemnation.
All of this was due to her. If she would not have been this reckless, this entire situation wouldn’t have happened in the first place. Tears flowed down her cheeks, touching the ground in her process.
The people around her gave her strange looks, but that did not stop her. Continuous pains went through her head, but that was nothing compared to the throbbing pain within her chest. It felt to her as if her chest was being crushed into pieces.
There was no one but herself she could blame for this situation. She wanted to curse at Taehyun for pushing her away; She would not have felt this way if that was the case.
She wanted to bang her head against the floor at that moment, and she did not care about whether or not she appeared to be someone sane. Learning about Taehyun being in such a state was unbelievable to her, and she could not bring herself to calm down.
One thing Jinhee was bad at and did not improve at all at was when it came to controlling her emotions for those she held dear, and even though she had presumed herself to have grown stronger, currently, that did not appear to be the case.
Jinhee wanted to scream out in pain and at one point, she even had the silly idea run in fromt of a truck to see whether or not she will be given another.
At that moment, Jinhee felt a palm on top of her shoulder, and turning her head back, she saw a woman staring at her. Jinhee recognized her as Taehyun’s mother.
Jinhee had expected for the woman to stare at her with contempt and disgust, but that was not present in her eyes. To her surprise, a soft smile was on Han Jihye’s face.
“Don’t cry, Dear. Taehyun will be all fine. He will surely be waking up, so don’t waste your tears,” Jihye vocalised.
Her tone and words did nothing to alleviate the pain within Jihye. In fact, it made Jinhee feel more guilty. How could Jihye be so calm and collected around her? Maybe if Jihye had slapped her then Jinhee would have felt better.
Jinhee found Jihye’s attitude to be burdensome and vocalised, “This is all my fault! This would not have happened if I did not walk carelessly. It should have been me in Taehyun’s face. T-Taehyun, he, h-he did not at all deserve that.”
Lee Jinhee continue to weep, and bending down, Jihye hugged her tightly, catching Jinhee by surprise. A single tear dropped down Jihye’s tears, and Jinhee’s body continued to shiver.
“It was not your fault. It was the driver who was drunk, and Taehyun chose to protect you. After waking up, he would not like to see you with your health ruined. So, please, Dear, compose yourself. Taehyun will be waking up; I have firm believe in that,” Jihye said.
“No, Jihye-ssi, no, you should not be comforting me like this. I carelessly ran out of mansion and walked around the streets. I have heard calls of people telling me to get away, but I did not pay them any attention. Taehyun just then pushed me out of the road. Why did he do that? I never told him to keep me safe with his life as a price. I don’t I will ever be able to handle this,” Jinhee expressed as another wave of sharp pain went through her head.
Before Jinhee could continue further, she felt something sharp being driven through her arm, and her consciousness began to fade away. Her sight began to become blurry, and she closed her eyes.
