Reborn To Love - Chapter 240 Yes, Yes!
Chapter 240 Yes, Yes! However, when she looked over to see who was playing, her mouth and eyes both fell open in surprise.
“Gu Yechen?!”
The man sitting in front of the piano looked up upon hearing the voice but didn’t stop playing. It was very late into the afternoon already and the sun was slowly setting behind the mountains.
It was half dark, making it a little hard to see clearly.
He Xinyan’s eyes stayed glued onto Gu Yechen as she watched him elegantly play the piano in a white suit, looking like a prince.
How come she never knew that he knew how to play the piano? When did he learn?
After several minutes, the piece finally ended in the beautiful D Major chord. Gu Yechen set his hands down onto his lap and looked up, his eyes sparkling under the setting sun and the stars beginning to reveal themselves.
He Xinyan took a step forward and was about to say something when suddenly, there was a bang and a sign lit up from a few feet behind the piano.
He Xinyan jumped back in surprise, having completely not realized there was something behind Gu Yechen. This entire time, He Xinyan’s eyes and ears were focused on Gu Yechen, and she didn’t even notice that there was a huge sign in the back reading two words:
“MARRY ME”
He Xinyan’s eyes widened as she lifted both hands up, covering her mouth. Marry me? This was a. . . proposal?!
She looked left and right to see if Xu Mengya was equally surprised, only to find that Xu Mengya was gone already. Gone?!
It only took a moment for He Xinyan to realize what was happening. Auntie Xu has tricked her!
The sound of the waves was covered by the blasting sound coming from the sign, as there were several small sparklers positioned all around the sign, making it even brighter than it already was.
The sun had basically completely set by now, but even in the dark night, there was light because of the bright sign and the sparklers.
He Xinyan stared at the sign for several long seconds, and she didn’t notice that Gu Yechen had already walked away from the piano and was right in front of her now.
She took a step back in surprise to see him only a feet away from her.
They stared into each other’s eyes for a long time and no one said anything. He Xinyan felt her eyes become a little watery and she didn’t even know why.
Nothing even happened yet! What was she getting emotional for?!
Control, He Xinyan! Control!
Gu Yechen grinned when he saw the slight redness in her eyes and turned to look at the water, which was only a few feet away.
He stared at it for several long seconds, causing He Xinyan to also look over in curiosity.
A short distance away from the shore, there was something sparkling floating on the water. She rubbed her eyes to try and get a closer look, but she didn’t need to.
The sparkling object was slowly moving closer and closer to them.
Gu Yechen stepped over to the water and bent down elegantly, waiting for the object to come to a stop in front of him.
When it did, He Xinyan saw that it was a tiny boat that looked like a toy. On the deck, there was a small and very bright object resting on it.
He Xinyan didn’t need to think much to figure out what it was.
A ring.
Gu Yechen picked the ring off of the boat and walked back to He Xinyan.
Before she could react, he was down on one knee with both hands lifted up. A very attractive smile appeared on his face as he looked into He Xinyan’s eyes lovingly.
“Xinyan, from the first time I saw you, I fell in love with you. You are the best thing that happened to me. I am so grateful for every single second I have spent with you, and I want to be able to spend every day, every hour, every minute, every second of the rest of my life with you. He Xinyan, will you marry me?”
Without knowing it, several tears began rolling down He Xinyan’s cheeks by now.
She didn’t even have to think before nodding her head. No one knew just how long she had been waiting for this moment!!
“Yes, yes!” He Xinyan said, her voice slightly cracking as the tears began flowing down her face.
She stretched one shaky hand out and Gu Yechen gently took her small hand into his large one. Slowly and carefully, he slid the ring up her slender fourth finger, happy to find that it was the perfect size.
He slowly stood back up, grabbing onto both of her hands, he smiled more happily than he has ever his entire life.
“Baby, you’re truly mine now.” He stepped forward and pulled He Xinyan into his embrace, closing his eyes as he took in this beautiful moment.
He Xinyan didn’t close her eyes as she held her hand up to a position where she could see the bright ring sparkling under the stars.
The sparkling diamond on the ring wasn’t extremely large, like the usual ones upper class women liked to wear.
Instead, it was a perfect size. Small enough to look delicate and proportionate on her slender finger, but big enough to be seen very far away and look lavish.
She loved it. . . She didn’t like the gigantic diamonds on rings because she thought it took away the elegance and perfection a diamond should have.
As she admired the beautiful and special piece of jewelry, the night was suddenly filled with a loud noise again.
When she looked up into the air, she saw three helicopters several feet above where they were standing, and they stopped in the air.
Then, a few heads popped out from the helicopter and red, pink, and white rose petals began dropping down from the sky in large amounts.
It was like a rain of roses pouring down on them, making the day even more romantic than it already was.
She looked over at Gu Yechen, who didn’t seem surprised. He wasn’t even looking at the roses as his eyes were glued onto his. . . fiancee.
She looked up again, trying to see who the people were.
It took a long time for her to recognize one of the people inside, Gu Yebei! She guessed that everyone inside were probably their close friends.
A few minutes passed before the rose petal rain was finished, and once it did, Gu Yechen used one hand to lift He Xinyan’s chin up and bent down, pressing his lips onto hers.
It only took a quick second before He Xinyan responded to the kiss, wrapping her arms around his waist.
As they kissed, the helicopters flew over to the patch of sand nearby and landed slowly.
Indeed, everyone inside were close friends or relatives.
Gu Yechen’s parents, Gu Yebei, Wu Minger, Qin Lai, Chen Xiao, and a few more.
Seeing that they had arrived, He Xinyan patted Gu Yechen on the chest, signaling for him to stop. However, of course he didn’t obey. He wasn’t finished kissing yet!
And, the people watching were very patient. After all, this was their special moment.
Several minutes later, Gu Yechen finally reluctantly let go of He Xinyan, who was panting for breath. She rested her entire upper body weight against Gu Yechen, and he very cooperatively held her up with his strong arms.
Seeing that they were finished, the guests walked over to them and began talking excitedly about the proposal.
He Xinyan happily listened to them talk, her heart beating scarily fast inside.
She said yes!
She was engaged. . . with Gu Yechen!
