Reborn To Love - Chapter 292 Wu Chenxi's Apology
Chapter 292 Wu Chenxi’s Apology Wu Yin put one hand over her chest and Wu Minger also looked up, a little scared that her mom would pass out from being too mad, “You think your dad was kicked out of the Gu family?! He wanted to leave himself!”
Wu Chenxi frowned slightly but didn’t seem to believe his mother’s words, “How is that possible?!”
Wu Yin finally couldn’t hold it in anymore as tears began flowing down her cheeks. Wu Minger pressed her lips together guiltily and walked over to her mother.
“Your father wanted to leave the Gu family himself. He had always wanted to leave! I was only an excuse and the last straw for him. . . He never enjoyed living in the Gu family. It was complicated and tiring. Your dad wanted to live a simple life and cut ties with all the drama, but now you two are trying to get evolved again!” Wu Yin took a deep breath and glared at her son, who she knew was the main one behind it.
From behind, Gu Yebei was the most confused. He looked over at Gu Yechen and He Xinyan and asked quietly, “What is this about? I don’t even know why I got kidnapped. Who is their father?”
He Xinyan glanced at him and sighed, “It’s complicated. I’ll explain to you later.”
Gu Yebei shrugged and brushed off the dust on his clothes. Then, he looked up at Wu Minger as his expression turned serious. Several emotions flashed past his face before he looked down again.
Wu Chenxi’s face paled slightly upon hearing that. However, the next second, he continued to shake his head, “That can’t be true! That -”
“Well it is!” Wu Yin glared at her son and then at her daughter, “Everything your father did was for you guys, but now it is going all to waste because of your stupidity and greed! He wanted all of us to have a simple and easy life, but now you guys are ruining all of it.”
Wu Chenxi did not expect things to turn out like this, and he was obviously at a loss for words as he stared blankly at the ground.
Wu Minger also pressed her lips together a little guiltily, and she gently placed one hand onto her mother’s arm, “Mom, calm down.”
Wu Yin threw her an angry glare and asked, “Did you take part in coming up with this plan too?”
Wu Minger didn’t say anything as she looked over at her brother, who immediately spoke up.
“No, she didn’t. It was my plan. I came up with everything and pulled Minger into it. She was just listening to me.”
Wu Yin glared at her son and slapped him on the arm again. She had guessed this, because she knew her daughter wouldn’t be brave or “smart” enough to come up with a plan like this.
“Hurry and go apologize!” Wu Yin said angrily, pointing at where Gu Yechen was standing.
Wu Chenxi looked over at them before asking again, “Dad really didn’t get kicked out?”
Wu Yin put one hand up to her forehead helplessly and sighed, “No, he didn’t! He wanted to leave himself. . . for me. I wanted a simple life away from all that drama and fighting, and he did too. He left because he wanted to, not because the Gu family kicked him out or something!”
Wu Chenxi furrowed his eyebrows together. To be honest, he didn’t do all of this because he wanted more money or power. After hearing only one side to the story, he was just angry that his father got kicked out for some unknown reasons, and he wanted to get back at the Gu family.
He didn’t think that. . . that he got it all wrong.
“Hurry! Or else I won’t help you when they decide to go call the police!”
Wu Chenxi gulped and looked down, his eyes dilating as he thought about everything he did. Why did he do all of that? Did he actually want to do that?
He committed a crime! Wu Chenxi shook his head in shock before he finally turned around and slowly walked over to Gu Yechen, Gu Yebei, and He Xinyan.
He stopped about a foot away from them, and just as He Xinyan was beginning to wonder how he was going to apologize, there was suddenly a bang.
She jumped back in surprise and gasped at what just happened. From afar, even Wu Yin and Wu Minger were also surprised.
Wu Chenxi. . . He kneeled down!
The only one that didn’t seem surprised at all was Gu Yechen, as he looked down coldly at Wu Chenxi, who had his head down, looking at the ground.
“Please forgive me. I am wrong. . . Please forgive me!” Wu Chenxi said with his head down towards the ground so they couldn’t make out his emotions at the moment.
However, from his voice, it sounded as if his apology was quite genuine.
Gu Yechen glanced down at him coldly and didn’t say anything for several seconds, “If I hadn’t come or gave you a fake contract, would you have actually killed Gu Yebei?”
Wu Chenxi looked up slightly and He Xinyan noticed that his eyes were red. Wu Chenxi pressed his lips together before finally saying, “I don’t know. . .”
Gu Yechen smirked, “How would you not know?”
“I. . . I didn’t think of that. Maybe?”
Even though Wu Yin was mad at her son, he still ultimately was her biological son. She couldn’t just not care about him.
She slowly walked over with Wu Minger next to her and looked over at Gu Yechen, “Mr. Gu, I sincerely apologize for my son. He had the wrong information, but even so, that isn’t a reason for why he should ever do anything like this. It is my fault that I didn’t raise my kids well.”
Gu Yebei looked over at Wu Yin, who he had met before once with Wu Minger, and then his eyes moved over to Wu Minger.
Wu Minger was looking down, but at this moment, she looked up slightly. Their eyes met for a quick second, but Wu Minger immediately looked down again with shame.
Gu Yebei felt a stinging pain in his heart as he also looked down. To be honest, during his time here Wu Chenxi wasn’t extremely pleasant with him. Wu Chenxi didn’t hurt him or anything, and he was fed and allowed to roam inside a small room.
He had met Wu Minger only twice during his time there, probably because Wu Minger couldn’t bear the shame to go in and face him.
However, he did know that it was Wu Minger who convinced his brother to let him roam freely in the room instead of being tied up with ropes, and she had snuck some food in for him as well.
Even so. . . After this situation, their relationship was definitely ruined. Even if the both of them still had feelings for each other, this crack definitely ran quite deep.
Gu Yechen was never a kind or merciful person, and he was in an especially bad mood after everything that happened. He leaned forward slightly, glaring at Wu Chenxi.
“Hm. . . I wonder what I should do? Should I call the police to punish you or should I punish you myself?”
Wu Yin, Wu Chenxi, and Wu Minger all tensed up by this comment, and Wu Yin also knelt down after hearing this, “Please, please, Mr. Gu! Be merciful. I promise that this will never happen again. He was wrong, but please give him a second chance! I promise that I will punish him myself.”
He Xinyan frowned when she saw Wu Yin kneel down, and she immediately walked over and pulled her up, “Auntie Wu, it isn’t your fault.”
Wu Yin shook her head as she continued to cry, “It is. I didn’t raise him well. . . If only I had told them about it earlier, maybe all of this wouldn’t have happened!”
She turned and looked at Gu Yebei, filled with shame and sadness, “Yebei, you are a great kid. I am so sorry about what happened.”
Gu Yebei pressed his lips together and didn’t say anything. He wasn’t furious about what happened since it wasn’t extremely bad. He didn’t get hurt or mistreated in any way. However, it was still quite a scary experience.
He Xinyan sighed and let go of Wu Yin’s arm. She looked over at Wu Minger, and their eyes met in midair for several seconds.
Wu Minger also knew that her friendship with He Xinyan might never return to what it used to be, and thinking about it caused a sour feeling inside her to grow.
She clenched her fists together and finally looked away.
He Xinyan kept her eyes on Wu Minger for a few more seconds, almost as if she was trying to read her. He Xinyan also knew that Wu Minger probably wasn’t the main force behind what happened.
They had been friends for so long. . . He Xinyan knew Wu Minger. She wouldn’t do that if it weren’t for her brother.
She sighed and turned around, walking back to Gu Yechen, who was still angry as he coldly stared at Wu Chenxi, obviously not planning on forgiving him or being merciful.
He Xinyan looked down at Wu Chenxi, who she had always thought of as her older brother figure. She did not know what happened to him, but she did not remember him to be so stupid and greedy.
Finally, she grabbed onto Gu Yechen’s hand and looked up at him with a smile, “Let him go this time.”
