Reclaiming the Demon’s Curse - Chapter 186
“It’s not going to work.” Cyril sighed as he could only accept the limitation of his ability.
Unfortunately, he learned that it was too complicated and he felt that if he made a wrong move, the Spatial Bag would actually be destroyed in the process.
It would be such a waste if the Spatial Bag was destroyed once he made a mistake unsealing it.
“Sigh~ Sir Xagan… How much to unseal this?” Cyril had no choice but to ask Xagan. He could probably ask Terrence from the Association to unseal this but he wanted to keep this a secret. After all, he has a good feeling that it contains various treasures.
It’s better to keep this item a secret for now and check what’s inside the bag.
“Removing the seal made by a lowly Lich? Just three days is enough, Contractor.”
Xagan replied after his projection took a glance at the old pouch in Cyril’s hands. At first glance, it would seem like it’s just a normal pouch made of low-quality fabric to store some coins. However, if it was inspected, it is actually an Artifact that is perhaps at Rank-C or maybe Rank-B
“Alright. I’ll take that deal.” Cyril accepted.
He has been planning to enter the Dragon World in the next few months or after he dealt with the Vastroth Clan’s issue. It means that he has to find many impressive weapons or artifacts he could get for him to survive.
Anyway, thanks to the appearance of the demons, he would no longer need to build a team of strong Awakened to accompany him in his journey to find the Tree of Life. As long as he freed a few Demons and have them serve him for a while, he would have an extremely good team that could perhaps equal the best teams of Arcane Explorers even in the next decade.
The only problem is the alignment of these Demons since the Dragons may not have a good relationship with them.
This is the only thing that is stopping him to meet the Dragons. However, he would be too scared without the help of the other demons, so he was still in dilemma after several weeks of thinking.
Crack!
After the deal with Xagan was completed, Cyril felt the seal being shattered by the Demon’s powers.
It only took three seconds to completely remove Gyqul’s traces on the Artifact.
“Finally… Let’s see what’s inside.”
Cyril muttered as he used his Aura to scan the content of the Spatial Bag.
“This is a lot better than I expected.” Cyril grinned after he learned about the contents of the bag.
It has various gold coins and black coins which seemed to be a currency of civilization he’s not aware of.
Aside from that, he also found several creepy figurines of monsters or perhaps demons that he couldn’t identify.
However, the item that made him truly happy is his set of ancient potions and recipes!
He’s unsure what kind of potion they are since he could never think that a Lich could drink a potion. At most, it could probably splash his bones by these potions.
There is also a chance that these potions were things he had when he was still an Elf. After all, inside the Spatial Bag, these potions wouldn’t have any expiry date at all!
Cyril wouldn’t have to worry about them being spoiled.
“How mysterious…” Cyril commented after inspecting the Spatial Bag.
The coins, the figurines, and the 40 or so potions within the Spatial Bag, intrigued Cyril.
The coins represent a civilization that he’s unaware of. It could even be existing up until now so Cyril made sure to take note of the coins’ engravings.
He immediately pulled out one of the gold coins and after looking at it closely, the gold coin is actually engraved with the image of a horned creature’s head and on the other side was the image of two broadswords crossing at each other.
As for the black coin, it doesn’t have any engravings but it does have a mysterious aura coming from it. This aura doesn’t seem to be harmful but with its existence, it is impossible to fake the black coin at all.
Knock! Knock!
Cyril then realized that his food has arrived and kept everything back to his Dimensional Storage Space.
Soon, a man wearing a hazmat suit came to deliver his food.
“Warren, you guys already have Nature’s Blessing, isn’t it a bit too overboard to wear that kind of thing?” Cyril asked helplessly. It feels like he really had an infectious disease.
There are two Arcane Experts assisting him and one of them is the punctual and kind Warren while the other one would only arrive in the afternoon and her name was Sheena, Warren’s girlfriend.
Anyway, they even said that Cyril’s Curse was dormant but they are still acting like he would infect them so he felt a bit bitter about that.
“Ahh… Don’t mind us, Sir Cyril. We just got used to it since it’s also crafted well and it boosts our strength and agility. This isn’t simple safety wear, you know?”
“Ah… That makes sense. So it was enchanted here? Was it the old Crafter who made it?” Cyril asked. He has no one to talk to and wanted to chat a bit with this kind of Arcane Arts Expert.
Well, he hadn’t informed his Aunt yet since he thought that she might get too worried if she heard that he was cursed after all. He doesn’t want her to needlessly worry about him.
“No. Although the Old Crafter is good, he’s still not adept in terms of Enchantment. These items are ordered from Sir Rylie from the Silent Crawler Guild.”
“Silent Crawler? So they have someone that capable, huh.” Cyril mused recalling the small but mysterious guild.
“Of course. They’re a small guild but they are all quite powerful and good at whatever field they put their hands on.” The man said as he also started checking Cyril’s condition.
“I see. So when can I leave this place?”
“That… If we at least managed to know what kind of Curse it is, we would be able to give you a proper timeframe. For now, please give us three more days to identify it.”
“Three days?” Cyril repeated and thought that it is indeed a reasonable time for them to learn about the curse.
“Yes… In truth, if we can’t identify it, we would have someone from the Silent Crawler identify it. There is someone there with an Artifact that could identify almost any Arcane Arts. Though it would be expensive, it will be shouldered by the Association so you don’t have to worry.”
Cyril smiled and he’s indeed not worrying about the expenses to lift the curse since he knows that he has some perks as an A-Rank Awakened of the Association.
After Warren left, since he don’t have things to do, Cyril decided to check online if he could find any clues about the coins, the figurines, and potions he found inside the Spatial Bag.
“Hmm… Arcane World Coins… Found it.”
After searching for about 10 or so minutes, Cyril finally found an article he was looking for.
[ The Leak of Mr. Deus’ Coin Collection ]
This Article contains detailed pictures of Mr. Deus’ collection of coins that he either bought or acquired in his own exploration.
Mr. Deus is just an alias that he uses but he’s known to be an A-Rank Awakened unaffiliated to any guilds.
“They are mostly Elven Mystic Coins, Vampire’s Blood Coins, and Demi-Human’s Core Coins.” Cyril commented after checking the various coins… Although there are many variations, Cyril identified that they are all currencies of these three intelligent races found in an Arcane World.
However, Cyril didn’t give up and soon found the closest coin to the one he has. No, it might actually be similar but the one in the collection was just heavily damaged.
Cyril can still see half of the coin with the horn part and on the other side was indeed the sword handle.
It was said that it was left behind by a Fiend Warlock Boss in a Mid-Class Arcane World after it self-detonated.
[ Damaged Fiendish Gold Coin – Currency used by Dark Magicians for trading ]
As expected, Cyril also found the black coin, and this time, it is in very good condition.
[ Fiendish Night Coin – Currency used by Dark Magicians to communicate with the Underworld or Demons. ]
“Hmm… Demons… Again?” Cyril frowned after seeing the involvement of Demons again.
“Sir Xagan, so you know about the black coin, huh.”
“Of course, Contractor. I can tell you how to make use of these Night Coins including the Gold Coins you have, for only 4 days. That’s quite cheap for such a piece of crucial information that you may need.”
Xagan rarely talked for long.. Normally, the demon would just answer him about the prices but this time, it feels different on how he’s hinting that it would be very useful for him later on.
