Reclaiming the Demon’s Curse - Chapter 192
After Cyril left Vanessa’s office, he went straight home and found Amaris to ask about the coins and the figurines he has.
“Master, where did you find these?” Amaris seems to be interested after he brought them out of his Spatial Bag.
She immediately used her human form to touch the coins and see whether they are genuine or not.
“They are loots from the Elemental Lich I defeated… That guy was previously an Elf so he’s quite special I guess.”
Cyril answered as he told her about the contents of the Spatial Bag.
“Well, you are lucky, Master. These coins are normally being used by Demons to suppress other Underworld Creatures to do their biddings.”
Amaris said as she looked at Cyril.
“Oh~ Tell me more.”
“Alright… With these Night Coins that you have, you can suppress an Underworld Creature. For example, 2 of these Night Coins can suppress one Two-Headed Rage Wolf. Once they are suppressed, they will turn into these small figurines that you have and you can unseal them once you learned the trick to activate them… Useful, right?”
“Yeah… That sound’s incredible.”
“It’s actually quite impressive that a mere Lich has these items with him. He probably just looted them as well or he acquired them when he was still an Elf.”
Cyril agreed as he thought of another question.
“Now I understand how are these items connected. However, how would you value these kinds of coins?”
Amaris thought for a moment before answering.
“Ugh. I can’t say they aren’t valuable. However, they are mostly things we use to reward our followers. So I guess it’s useful to us in a way so we can increase their strength while we increase our influence.”
“Hmm…”
Cyril read in the article online that these coins should be items used by Dark Magicians. But after hearing Amaris’ words, it seems that they aren’t just simple Dark Magicians but Demon Followers instead.
Well, then can easily be identified incorrectly since they are both using an unusual type of magic after all.
Cyril felt satisfied with Amaris’ answers and promised her to lessen her serving time. Anyway, he would have more Demons through Selma’s help so he didn’t mind making such promises at the moment.
After clearing things up. Cyril finally decided to visit the Red Goblin World.
He hasn’t visited that place for a while now so he would assume that they have already mined a lot of Red Prite Ores that he could use to unseal the Demons in his Artifacts Collection.
“Master! It has been a while.”
Gaarm greeted Cyril after finally seeing him again. As the Chief of the Goblin Tribe and basically the last boss of this Arcane World, he had ordered his subordinates to decorate the area where Cyril appears whenever he visits their cave.
He put several planks of wood for a stable footing and cleaned up the place and dug a canal to control the dampness in the area.
“You have plenty of time, I guess.” Cyril said to the Chief while looking at the improved area of the tunnel.
“Master, several months have already passed. Of course, we have a lot of young goblins and they need to work here before I could send them outside.”
“Ahh… You’re right. How do you control your population though? At this rate, in a couple of years, wouldn’t this place be too small for all of you?”
Cyril curiously asked in passing. He wasn’t too interested in the Red Goblins but because he indeed found a group of growing Goblins who wore nothing but their underwear, he felt quite intrigued.
“Master… Hunting food outside is quite difficult. We are sending groups of 10 or 20 Goblins that will hunt for food for three days. Unfortunately, two or three of them would be unable to return in the process…”
“I see. I won’t interfere with how you operate your tribe as long as your race is not in danger of being annihilated and I get my resources.”
“That’s enough for us, Master. Right, the sacrifices we have are ready. Please accept them.”
Gaarm said as he pointed at the warehouse, or perhaps cave room, where the Ores and other valuable stones are collected.
“You have a good haul this time, that’s great. Are there any special stones like the last time?”
“Haha! It seems that you noticed already, Master. We felt bad when you tried looking for those mysterious objects again and we can’t find them anymore. This is why in the past month, we decided to explore other parts of this cave to find new resources. Luckily, our hard work bore fruit and we found two more copper-like stones that you previously thought was an incredible item…”
“Copper-like… Do you mean the Upgrade Stone?! You have them again?! Hurry, show it to me!”
Cyril couldn’t help but be excited upon hearing the Goblin Chief’s bragging.
After he upgraded his Identity Shroud Mask, he really wanted to have more of these stones. However, even after numerous visits here, the Goblins never found the Upgrade Stone again. Cyril thought that it was a foreign object here as well just like how the Azennon, the Demon he killed here, managed to enter this Arcane World.
Gaarm immediately picked up his pace and found a box he set aside at the corner. As soon as he opened it for Cyril, the young man saw the familiar stones and they are exactly like the Upgrade Stones he had before.
“Incredible! You did something really great this time, Gaarm!”
Cyril took the stones in his hands to observe them carefully.
He can still feel the mysterious energy coming from it. There is no doubt that this is the Upgrade Stone that is sought after even in the Golden Grace Merchant Union.
He learned from Vanessa that the Union has distributed about a hundred Upgrade Stones throughout the whole Continent. It means that it can still be considered almost as rare as Rank-S Artifacts.
After placing the small box in his Dimensional Storage Space, he then focused on the four small hills of Red Prite Ores…
On the side is another small collection of another stone but they are just about 100 to 150 pieces as it seems.
Well, Cyril already instructed the Red Goblins of finding Red Prite Ores instead of the Star Garnet Stone or other stones found here since they are only popular with the F-Rank to E-Rank Awakened.
Although he could still earn something from them, they aren’t that much anymore since a single Rank-B or Rank-A Artifact he sold is a lot more profitable to him at this point.
“With this much Ores, I should be able to unseal four Corruptor Demons. For the fifth one, I might try doing it naturally instead.”
Cyril muttered to himself as he calculated the ores based on how Amaris consumed them before.
After this, he spoke with Xagan again to help him get them contracted to him. This is an important part of the deal since if he let these demons corrupt the human world, then he would bear the sin of destroying his own planet.
“I need to suppress them and have them serve me again for at least 20 years. That would be worth 5 days of my life, right?”
Cyril asked. Apparently, Xagan doesn’t have much to do at all but just to release a bit of his Demonic Energy.
The Demons would recognize this Aura as their superior and would willingly give a part of their soul for the contract to be sealed.
“That’s correct, Contractor.”
“Got it… Do it once they started absorbing the energy of the ores.”
“Deal.”
Soon, Cyril released the four Artifacts in the warehouse and placed them on each hill of ores.
Since they’ve already been informed by Selma about this, they didn’t doubt anything and decided to consume enough energy to release themselves from the seal of the Artifacts.
Once they did this, they will truly be free from the restrictions of their previous collapsing Arcane World.
“Gahahaha!”
“I did it! Finally! Finally!”
“It’s too little… But this is great!”
“Kukuku! It’s time to flee!”
As soon as the creepy demons started manifesting their real form, they immediately felt excited and one of them is even thinking of fleeing!
However, how could Cyril let him do that?
Xagan immediately showed his Aura…
“T-this…”
“Ack… Ahh… Selma didn’t mention this—”
“Isn’t this the aura of the Demon King!”
“What’s happening?!”
The Demons here doesn’t have bat-like wings or long tail. Instead, they seem to be some sort of Chimera close to being a Magical Creatures than a Demon.
They must be those low-ranking Demons who were lucky enough to get promoted and don’t have the bloodline of a Noble Demon.
“Well, you can’t leave without having a contract with me so you have to complete the part of the deal here.. I’m sure I already mentioned this to Selma… or did she instruct you to flee after being freed?” Cyril asked in a serious tone as he gazed coldly at the four Demons.
