Reds Reset - Chapter 147

Link did not even hesitate to leave the place, fearing he would have to face whatever destroyed the area.

As Link ran, he kept seeing the same thing all over. Dead horses and destroyed carts here and there, some of the corpses even belonged to beasts.

“No blood” Link muttered with a frown. This whole incident reminded him of what he saw back in his village. “There is no way they would come here”

The area seemed like it was heavily inhabited by people in the past as it did not matter how long Link ran, he still saw traces of corpses and destroyed structures. After a bit Link activated Blink in an attempt to speed up.

BOOM!

While moving at a scary speed, Link heard an earth shaking explosion coming from far ahead. The land quaked from the pure force.

“Oh hell no” Link spoke as he turned around and ran in the other direction. He was not sure if it was magic or something else that did that and he was not keen on finding out. Whatever or whomever was responsible would probably be able to easily end Link”s life with that attack.

BOOM!

Link forcefully stopped himself as he heard the explosion again from another direction. He started sweating profusely as more and more explosions roared all over the place.

“What the hell is happening?” Link screamed as he saw the earth rising in the distance. His eyes widened even more after seeing the explosions get closer and closer. “I knew some shit would happen” Link said as he started to run again. He could feel the pressure from the explosions on his back but he did not dare to look.

With numerous Blinks, Link started to escape the area and avoid them. His back soaked in sweat.

“What was that?” He mumbled as he stopped and looked behind him. What he saw made him take a step back.

A man wearing some odd looking black robe and another that wore a fancy red robe were fighting with each other.

“You disgusting leech” The red robed man spoke “I will end you here and rid the world of your cursed existence”

“Ha!” The black robed man laughed “You”re nothing but a servant. How dare you speak such words”

The red robe flew in the air, throwing what looked like fireballs. They were blue in color and as large as a bolder, but the black robe easily dodged the barrage with an odd ability. His body turned into smoke as each one passed right through him. That was when Link saw the source of the explosions. They were the fireballs thrown by the red robed man.

BOOM!

Link shielded his eyes and he started running again, trying to get as far away from those two as he could. “What was that?” He questioned.

“What? How high?”

Link did not respond as he peeked once in a while. He saw the man now moving around with incredible speed still throwing spells at each other.

The red robed man pulled out a sword with a flaming eye above its hilt and flashed towards the black robe, swinging it with a powerful flame following it.

Link frowned as he watched them fight. It seemed like they were strong but each of their attacks were too flashy and overly exaggerated. Link was certain that he could easily avoid their attacks and counter if he fought them. “Are they faking it?” He spoke.

Link was greatly disappointed and at the same time relieved. He knew that if he ever faced someone with a higher level than him he”ll manage somehow. Compared with the first Continent, this one was more of a joke.

The black robed man did not attack once and just kept dodging while insulting his opponent. Seeing this Link questioned his ability and thought that dodging was all he could do. That was when he saw the black robe finally cast something.

The surrounding spot turned foggy, though Link could still see clearly through. The red robed man seemed to start panicking after seeing this and started trying to leave the fog. Link could see everything, as the fog seemed to follow the man wherever he went.

“You old fool” The black robe spoke “You were using up your Mana thinking you had an upper hand. Now my sweet spell can finally effect you”

Link watched as the red robed man slowly started to lose his strength and fall. He slammed into the ground with a disturbing thud. His blood splattered everywhere.

Suddenly, smoke rose from the corpse, as a light orb flew out from it. A face formed in the fog and opened its mouth, swallowing the orb. After the orb vanished, the blood completely vanished as it instantly turned into fog and combined with the rest.

“Ha!” The black robed man laughed “With this, i finally have enough” He said before flying away.

Link sighed in relief after seeing the man fly in the other direction. Whatever that fog was, he did not want to deal with it.

“So all of this was his doing?” Link thought “Or is he not the only one? I need to be careful”

The rest of the trip was quiet, with more and more corpses. The place looked apocalyptic with all the dead bodies.

After a whole day of running, Link finally started to see some changes in the area, as the corpses lessened and the place looked more lively.

A dirt road appeared in Link”s view with a sign.

“Rockhill Village” It said, pointing towards where Link came from. With another sign pointing in the other direction.

“Jill City”
