Reds Reset - Chapter 165
Link couldn”t forget the Academy and the state it ended up in. He worried for his family, the thought never leaving his head.
A month passed as he made his way towards the Kingdom. He never stopped once as he flew at full speed. His large Mana pool persisted while drank some Mana potions once in a while.
“Finally!” He muttered, looking at a small City in the distance. He landed and started making his way on foot, running.
If something happened there, and he would have the need to fight, Link wanted to have all of his Mana available. He rested on the way as he set up a small tent, gaining all his energy back. He felt rejuvenated and finally alive after not sleeping once.
No Creature dared block his way. He was nothing but a blur in the forest, even uncaring about the trees as he ran into them, sending wood everywhere as they broke like wet paper.
The giant walls were finally in his view as he approached, but a devastating arrow smashed into him.
BOOM!
Like an arrow Link flew back with great force. The ground lifted and the air currents ruffled the distant trees and bushes.
“What the f*ck?” Link muttered as he stood up with no visible scratch. His body dimmed after a second.
The moment the arrow left its bow, Link sensed danger, activating his Godly Body.
“What do you think you”re doing?” Link started floating into the air. His eyes shone and his aura changed. He was ready for battle.
“Our City does not allow any foreign Mages to enter, it is a Royal Order!” A voice echoed everywhere.
Link looked in a certain direction and spoke. “I”m no foreign Mage. I am a student of the Academy and a Baron of the Kingdom” Link spoke calmly, but his voice echoed throughout the area. “My name is Link Zmander. I”ll give you 10 minutes to confirm before I make my way in, if anyone dares to stop me I”ll break my way through!!”
After what was spoken, silence filled the area. Link waited impatiently as his eyes darted from one place to another.
A magic barrier covered the Kingdom, blocking any form of sensing skills. But with Psight, Link managed to easily see what was happening behind the walls.
Soldiers and Mages made their way towards the walls, each taking a position. Spells and cannons were set up, as if preparing for a war.
“Let me see you try!” Link thought to himself as he prepared Heavy Strike. He would not hesitate to destroy the whole City if he had to. He cared little about his title and what it meant. All he could think of was his family.
Ten minutes passed, and Link did not hesitate to move. His arm lifted slightly as Immense amounts of Mana gathered. The trees and grass around him started dying, as if they could not handle the pressure emitted.
The birds flew away and every ground animals started running, while some were unlucky as they fell powerlessly. The light in their eyes slowly faded as blood flowed out of their eye sockets.
Link”s arm started peeling slowly. His pores screamed as pain took over his right side.
“200 Million!” Link muttered, blood seeped between his teeth as the white in his eyes turned completely red. Even with the distance he had between himself and the walls, the Mages inside started sensing the monstrous Mana and the imminent danger coming from Link.
“Death!” One muttered as his eyes widened.
The clouds vanished from the sky and the air bellowed.
Link took a deep breath and started lifting his arm.
“WAIT!” A familiar voice reached Link”s ear. He slowed his casting but did not stop it.
“It”s me!” The voice yelled. “Abby!”
Hearing the name, Link frowned. “What happened to the Academy?” He yelled. His Mana dispersed as the pressure eased slowly.
“We were attacked” She yelled. “Get in, I”ll tell you what happened!”
Link cast Holy Nova on himself, fixing any damage he procured and started flying in the Kingdom”s direction.
A short female greeted him with a nervous smile as her eyes darted all over his body.
“You”re a Level 6 Mage?” She asked.
“Yeah, happened in the Second Continent!” Link answered.
“It hasn”t even been that long since I last saw him. Is this guy a monster in human clothing?” She thought to herself.
“This way!” She gestured as they both flew in. The guards and Mages kept staring at Link as he followed Abby.
“Do you think he would have really attacked?” A mage asked.
“Not sure”
“That spell could have easily killed us all and destroyed more than half the City even if the defenses activate on time!”
“Who the hell is he? I”ve never heard of him before. I thought I knew all of the Master Mages of our Kingdom!”
Link and Abby stopped near a giant castle, one that belonged to the King. They both entered unhindered by guards. They went down some stairs and headed down a long hallway lit by unfamiliar gems. Link was quiet the whole way as he drank a few Mana Potions.
Abby pushed a door and went into a dimly lit room. Inside sat 5 people covered by shadows as they stared at Link.
“What is this cliche bullsh*it” Link thought while he stood next to Abby.
“The moment you appeared outside the walls, we sensed you. I came over as fast as I could, and luckily managed to catch you before you destroyed the place” Abby said with a giggle. “Let me light up the room” She said, casting an orb as it floated and covered the shadows with a bright light.
A table made of marble sat in the middle of the room. 20 chairs going around it. Link now was capable of seeing the 5 people that sat there, recognizing one of them.
“It”s the man that nearly killed me” He thought. Staring at Bax.
“Let”s sit!” Abby spoke, walking towards a chair as she gestured for Link to follow.
Uncaring about who these people are, Link did not speak and sat down, keeping eye contact with Bax, carrying obvious malicious intent.
Bax frowned, finding it impossible to detect Link”s Mana pool anymore, he felt confused. “I can sense he”s a Level 6 Mage, but why can”t I sense his Mana? How much does he have?”
A few minutes in, sounds of echoing footsteps could be heard coming down the hallway.
In came the King, wearing armor with obvious inscriptions and runes all over. His sword and shield sat on his back neatly as light pressure could be felt from within them. Behind him came 10 people. Some wore capes of different colors that covered their faces while others wore armors. They did not seem like guards as they each sat down on a chair.
“Who are these people?” Link thought. He followed Abby willingly after seeing that the Kingdom was not attacked. That reassured him of his family”s safety.
“Hm!” The King let out a sound and a small grin appeared on his face before disappearing quickly. Link managed to notice everything as his Psight was still activated, not letting his guard down. He was sure that he saw the King look at him before he made that gesture.
“Now that all of our Master Mages are present, let”s begin!” The King stood and spoke. He looked around the table as he scanned the room. “It appears that unfortunately, we”ve lost some irreplaceable people in these past horrible days” The King continued. “But, we can only keep going and survive, so their sacrifices are not wasted.”
“What the f*ck is happening?” Link thought. “It feels like we”re gonna sacrifice a baby goat”
