Redux Of The Summoner - Chapter 1 I Am The System

Day 14, Month 8, Year 11108

I scratched my bearded whilst I sat on the john, reading the cities weekly newspaper. This week had been terrible, the giants had invaded from the east and the kingdom was looking to recruit men for war. I feared they’d try to rope me into their cause but as I was thinking I heard a faint buzzing sound in my ears followed by a tiny little voice.

“In darkest day,brightest night , no evi…”

I looked down, as the voice spoke and a yellow circle slowly spread out from under my feet with a dim yellow glow, only to vanish with haste. Leaving me dumfounded and running out the john with my trousers at my knees.

Day 2, Month 6, Year 11113

The shout vebrated in my room, the bed I was sleeping on had disappeared and I was left rubbing my ass cheeks, whilst the inn owner had started pounding my door looking for answers as to where the vibrations came from. I was chucked out of that inn that night, slept in the barn with old freddy.

Day 17, Month 10, Year 11115

‘Gia, are you serious right now’

[Gia is always serious]

‘Just breath, inhalllle, exhale’ I told my self, as I rubbed my forehead. I was no longer sleeping properly, I had a dream the other day that when I was in the bathtub, my body got wrapped in chains and I was dragged into the pits of hell.

Day 14, Month 12, Year 1118

A massive purple circled appeared below my feet, followed by what I thought was a little kids voice.

“or Lorek San, Bor Nakka Mur. Natromo Faan Tornek Wot Ur. Ter Lantern Ker Lo A” the voice seemed to multiply and harmonise in the air,only to slowly vanish just like the times before. I am unsure if I’m just hearing things.

Day 16, Month 3, Year 20018

‘ So what you think?, do you think someone is trying to summon me back home or they have mistaken me for lantern ‘ I sat upon an embankment watching a town burn. The old witch of Gizan had given me some clues into my predicament.

‘Lets finish this mission and worry about that when the time comes,…how much longer till I can summon my own moon’ I packed my belongings and marched to the next town to burn.

I fell from world, I fell into something else , I fell past white space, filled with giant beings, I fell past a place filled with nothing but darkness and stars , I fell past a place barren and cold, so cold that my hair stood on ends and past a place filled so hot, that my bones started melting.

….

Now I’m here, inside what looks like a tomb, but I can’t tell as fire is raging all around but I pay no mind as my skin can’t feel anything and most importantly a woman is glaring at me, like I’m the last plate of food in a buffet bar.

The short red pinkish hair is what I notice first, then her black eyes, I’m not even sure she has pupils. If not for the blood that’s running her face, and the fact she just licked some it off with her lips like it was the best thing she’d ever tasted, Id ask her for a drink right now.

‘ Gia…status check’

‘Gia, are you there?’

‘Nahhh, it cant be’

‘Gia?….’

The unending silence confirms my worst fears, I’ve lost Gia.

“Summon! save me!” a sharp shout brought me back to my senses, and I looked at the woman who was now standing a few feet away from me.

I looked at her in detail, her armour looked in tatters, chucks of steel missing, blood all over and her left arm was barely hanging on but her ‘eyes’ screemed determination and hate.

I waved my hand over her face and white small circles with intricate patterns danced around her body. A armor composed of a light and silver started forming from the tip of her toes to her head. A circle light appeared dead center on her chest and the eyes on the head peice glowed a faint white light…I’d given her the Mark 1 armor.
