Regressed Reincarnation: How to Escape a Fantasy World!! - Chapter 159
NARMER’S POV:-
‘That Idiot… she ran away… to think she would do something so drastic just to escape from our marriage,’ I think as I observe the search party and my father talking. Uncle Silva looked really worried, too.
I sigh as I think,’ was it a wrong move to force things through to get to her… but she always ignored my ways of approach and never gave me a straight answer. Though… I am really worried if that idiot is all right or not.’
I then make a determinant expression before looking at my front where the Kings and the search party made up of elites were discussing something. Clenching my fist, I look towards the outskirts. Thoughts of Silvian and me, our times together, came into my brain and a tinge of worry filled my mind, “Should I..
“Go too,” I hear a voice from behind and see another familiar person who has been staying in this country for quite a long time, too. He is an outsider who, because of his excellent blacksmith skills, was allowed to stay here in return for giving us high grade weapons to protect us from monsters and beasts.
I look at him, wearing a furry coat that partially hides his bulky yet muscular body. He looks like a human, but my instinct tells me he is not. I observe him for a few moments and look at that short hair of his that complemented his mature yet child-like face. He looks at me with a smile as his reddish black eyes reflect the sunset behind me.
[Author’s Note: @Zero_Syntax your character here.]
“Nico… what should I do?” I asked him in a low voice as I honestly did now know what I should do… I wanted to save her, but was it the right decision? I wonder as I look at him. He observes me for a few moments before answering.
“I need a specific mineral from a certain place outside the city… a bit towards the outskirts of the city. I was wondering where I could find a partner to take me. Could you help me with that, Narmer?” He speaks with a mysterious smile as he looks at me. Understanding his words, I look at him with a dumbfounded expression. I then look at him for a few more moments before pondering over his words for a few moments.
“Honestly… I still don’t know whether it will be a good idea, but given how smart Nico is.. I think… it should be fine… yeah… it should be… ‘ the more I thought about it, the more I was sure of the idea. Given my magic and his talent, we should have zero to no level of problem in travelling. As for fighting, we could just run away from fights we can’t afford to win. After pondering a bit more, I look at Nico and smile widely as I answer,” I will be glad to travel with you.”
He looked at me for a few moments before speaking,” when did I say it was you whom I want to travel with?”
My expression becomes dumbfounded as I look at him, but before I could do anything he starts laughing and then speaks,” Hahaha ha… I was joking! I was joking! You should have seen your face… hahaha..it was so worth it.”
I glare at him for a few moments before laughing along with him. People weirded out by our laughs took a few steps away from us before we finally stopped laughing and then I speak,
“So, when are we going to leave from here?”
He looks at me for a few moments before answering,” Let me get my things and then we shall leave as soon as you are ready.” He speaks and leaves from there immediately.
I observe the space where he was and recall back how we first met.
He was the first one who asked me if I needed help with weapons… while others had already rejected his help, I, for personal reasons, accepted his help. What he gave me… was more than I could ever expect… the sword’s sharpness was 10 times more than the best sword I had ever used in my entire life. I honestly was dumbfounded with what he made for me for such a small price… as if that wasn’t enough. His next statement made me even more dumbfounded as he spoke.
“I will make swords for only those people whom you will accept.”
Multiple times in our time together, I had asked why he said that or why he did not make anyone else to be his communicator, but he always responded with the same words,” It was my instinct. There was nothing more to it,” before getting back to his work.
Because of that incident, people started approaching me more and more, and our friendship started developing more and more. Many times I had asked for his help regarding things I was having difficulty with and many times I had helped him communicate with Father and Uncle.
‘Though… if asked if I really know him, I doubt I have anything I could speak about. He says that he would rather not talk about it and to respect his privacy, I did not pry into his life, no matter how curious I was.’
“Hey, are you ready?” I look at him with a gigantic bag on his back. I looked at him dumbfoundedly and speak in a low voice,
“What’s with all that stuff on your back?”
“Oh! Nothing, just some light stuff,” He speaks with a bright smile. Stupefied, I look at him before speaking.” You can carry all that stuff in dimensional storage, can’t you?”
At my words, he chuckles before answering,” What’s the fun in that? Now, now… let’s hurry, shall we? Don’t we have your supposed bride-to-be to save from the perils of the outskirts and turn you into a hero?”
I glare at him before chuckling and pondering if I really need anything… After thinking about it; I see that there is nothing I don’t have which I will need in this journey.
“Let’s go..” I speak, and he nods at me before vanishing from there.
