Regressed Reincarnation: How to Escape a Fantasy World!! - Chapter 67
“Let’s save your family,” he spoke with a smile on his face as he looked at me. Honestly, I was…stupefied at his statement. To believe in me…Is he mental?
But whatever the reason be, it makes my heart lighter to have someone who believes in me. Then I started interacting with him or mostly him telling me about himself.
Basically, he was studying medicine and is also about to get married next year. He also told me about his merits and said that he usually came on the news every now and then. Since I don’t watch anything that is not related to my interest I couldn’t clarify whether he was telling the truth or not. I connected to the wifi provided by the flight services and checked on the internet only to find that all those claims he was making were true…no he was understating everything he was telling me.
I could only keep my mouth shut as I looked at him talking to me as if it does not concern him. It doesn’t seem like things like this affect him. I can’t see him being prideful about too.
After all that talk, the flight finally reached our destination. I and Aether got out of the airport from there we went our separate ways. He told me that he would meet me right after he would finish his business here. After bidding goodbye and telling him my home address I took a taxi home. It took me a few more hours to reach home.
…
Standing in front of a large metallic gate I couldn’t help but feel nostalgic at this scene. It has been, after all, more than 2 years since I came back home. I pressed the doorbell and a man’s face appeared on the screen. Recognising me a slight disgust appeared on his face but he still opened the gate. Entering the gate, a long pathway came in front of my vision that reached a large white mansion. I walked slowly observing the trees and gardens as I recalled tiny bits of my childhood I spent here along with my cousins.
After reaching closer, I observed many expensive cars were present beside the mansion in the parking area. This made my heartbeat increase by another notch.
I hurriedly entered the gate and found that there were many guests present inside the mansion. Though looking at them carefully I realised each and every one of them was part of my family. Soon I heard a voice of a 24 years old girl calling me out,
“Alex! Here, come here! Mother and Father are waiting for you,” sis called me as soon as she saw me. Her black eyes looked relaxed when she saw me. Watching her smiling as she played with her black hair, I couldn’t help but feel relaxed myself. I ran towards her as fast as I could and hugged her,
“I missed you, Adara, where are mother and father?” I asked as I held her. She was stumped there for a few moments before comforting me slightly with a smile on her face. The other guests were shocked at my actions before a smile formed on a few relatives’ faces, as for others they didn’t look pleased at all.
“I missed you too, Alex. Let’s go, father and mother are waiting for you,” she spoke as she slowly separated me from herself. Maybe because there were tears in my eyes, she panicked a little before getting flustered all of a sudden,
“Just what is wrong with you all of a sudden? Are you really my brother? I don’t remember I ever saw him whining. Tell me, are you an imposter?” She made a funny face as she joked. She then took out her handkerchief and wiped my tears.
I smiled at her before we started to move towards my father’s room. My sister opened the room without knocking and grabbed my hand as we entered the room. I entered the room to find my father and mother. Not only them but also my Grandfather and Grandmother were present there. Not caring about any of it, I ran towards my parents who looked at me with a smile on their faces. I ran and hugged them.
Never in my life, I had thought I would be this happy just to see them smile. At that moment everything I had ever done in my life flashed across my eyes. Honestly, all the memories I had were either of me being hated by my relatives or me doing something that created more problems for my parents.
It made me so bitter that I just vowed then and there that I would turn better from now on.
“Mother. Father. I really missed you. I am sorry for all the time that I had created problems for you. Please forgive me. I promise I will turn over a new leaf. I promise I will become a better man,” tears started coming out of my eyes. The more I spoke the more I started crying. All the emotions I had from this morning burst out.
My Parents and Grandparents were slumped for a few moments before they started to get worried. They first consoled me slowly, forgave me for everything, then made me feel better by cracking a few jokes and after a few moments when everything calmed down considerably they asked me if everything were okay in my life. To not make them worry, I didn’t tell them about the dream but just lied about something. They did not seem to believe it but they didn’t pry in it…for now, that is.
“All right! Alex, do you know why have we called you here on urgent notice?” My mother asked me this question at which I shook my head telling them that I didn’t.
“I’ll tell you then. Your Sister you see…is getting married next month and today is her engagement ceremony,” a bombshell was dropped on my head by my mother. I turned to my sister to see her embarrassed face. Now that I look carefully she really is wearing too lavish clothing for something like a relatives meet. I couldn’t speak for a few moments. Words, I was lacking words to speak.
‘Why? Who? Why wasn’t I informe- no I was the one who usually avoided people so it makes sense that I don’t get to know the answers I am asking right now.’
“Congratulations! Adara,” supporting her from now is the least I can do for my sister. Normally, I would have thrown a tantrum about something like this. Even though I don’t talk to my sister, I still didn’t want her to marry just anyone.
At my congrats, she seemed to be slightly shocked but that turned into a cheerful smile as she moved forward to hug me back,
“Thank you, Alex!! Thank you so much!!” Adara spoke as she hugged me tightly. Seeing her so happy, I couldn’t help but smile a little.
…
Everyone moved outside the room where everyone was waiting for the future groom be was about to arrive.
After waiting for a few more minutes, a few cars started coming through as the outer gate opened, but who came from the car wasn’t the groom to be but another handsome man.
“Paul! What are you doing here?” My sister seems to be shocked looking at him. Does she know him? My eyes couldn’t help but try to analyse the man in front of me.
“What am I here doing, Adara? Babe don’t tell me, you thought you can just leave me behind and get married to some other man. Didn’t I tell you before? As long as I live I won’t let anyone else have you,” Paul said as his expression turned cold. He then commanded a few of his men and they took out guns and covered everyone around. Then a naked man who looked like he was beaten badly was bought in front of everyone with his face covered with a mask.
Paul removed the mask to reveal the face of another handsome man with golden hair and blue eyes,
“Chris!!!” I heard my sister shouting and running towards that man but before she could reach him Paul grabbed her hand.
“This is what happens to those who go against me. I told this bastard to stay away from you, yet he still couldn’t keep his thing in his pants. Today I’ll cut it in front of everyone. As for your parents, I asked them to stay away from this yet they wished to die. Well, at least I’ll full their death wish in front of their daughter,” Paul kept speaking as he looked at my parents in disdain then he smiled as he raised his pistol at my parents.
Everything started playing all over again. The dream started playing all over again.
Time slowed in my eyes. It was happening in slow motion. I wanted to move but I was scared. I wanted to protect them. I wanted to save them.
‘Please No! Don’t!’
My body started going numb, sweat trickled down my forehead.
‘Mother! Father! I can’t let them die here!’
I tried to move but my body refused to.
I turned to look at my parents, they were angry, they were sad, then they looked at me, smiled and said,
‘We love you son. Protect your sister.’
A tear escaped out of my eyes as I helplessly watched the horrifying scene playing in front of me.
I wanted to shout but I couldn’t. I wanted to move but I couldn’t. Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why?
‘I must do something! I can’t let it end here! There must be something! Aether! Aether!…’
“..AETHER DO SOMETHING!!!” I couldn’t help but shout that. I don’t why I said that. To ask for help from someone who wasn’t even here. Someone who I have met a few hours ago. Someone, I might probably never meet again. I must be going insane.
Everyone looked at me. They were wondering what was going on. It must have confused not only them but also my parents and sister as they too were confused at what I said.
Since he hasn’t come here. I guess this is it…I gained some strength and ran towards my mother and father hoping to come in between them. I wish things were different. I don’t want to lose them this early. Never thought I would wish to live again…
In this world, everyone has a dream. Small or big, it doesn’t matter, they all have one. Obviously, it applies to me too and my dream is… to make my parents proud of me. To keep them always smiling. Was this too much to ask for? Is it too late to start for that? I wish….if things could have been different.
