Regressed Reincarnation: How to Escape a Fantasy World!! - Chapter 77
NEXT DAY IN THE MORNING
MORPHEUS’ POV:-
Waking up early, I look at Corey, who has woken up and Chase is still sleeping at a distance away from me. I am keeping watch over him, just in case. Yesterday, he finally woke up. If he hadn’t, I might have been forced to wake him up, as it would be detrimental for his body if he sleeps more than a week.
“[Mana Eyes]” activating my mana eyes, I look around to find any disturbances in the mana. After making sure that everything is still fine, I sigh in relief before deactivating my Mana Eyes.
Then I close my eyes slowly and let my body go as I enter the Lucid State.
Entering the Lucid State slowly, my senses come back and I find myself in an open space with a man sitting on a sofa right in front of me. He looked exactly like Aether, in other words me in my previous world.
“Activate the recording once again,” I command him to replay whatever happened with the Kings all over again. Everything that they had said, every gesture they had made. The way they smiled to the way they were shocked. I asked him to replay everything,
“Also Dark, bring out that table,” I command him once again and he makes a hand gesture after which a screen filled with all the information I have collected from watching the replays previously over and over again. Since I made it as a table, it looks like a list with columns that are marked with yes and no.
I have been doing this since the day I had the meeting with the Kings. I wanted to know how much they had told the truth and how many lies they had told. If possible, I wanted to catch their weaknesses too and also deduce their strong points.
Soon the recording came into sight, it was more of a 3D recording that showed everything that happened from the time I met them outside the Sacred Tree to the point the meeting ended and they left. After watching it over and over, I once again came to the same conclusion that I came before.
“They are hiding something,” I speak as I close my eyes and think what it could be,
“It’s not that they lied about anything. In fact, everything they said was true. There was not a single trace of lies in their words, but…it was incomplete information. The only question is if they are bound by some restrictions or is it by their own choice to not tell it to me? Well, since they already told me so many things, I can’t really be choosy about it, can I?” a helpless smile forms on my face as I think about it. My eyes then dart to the guy standing on the other side of me,
“Dark, what do you think about it?” I ask him, even though I know he is just my creation.
“Nothing really, instead I think you should not concentrate on it at all and focus on getting stronger. You might need to face the so-called ‘Gods’ and who knows what, even those ancient race Gizem, I think you should really focus on getting yourself stronger along with your party members,” Dark speaks as he creates an apple out of nowhere and starts eating it.
“Well, I guess there are only so many things we can do about it, huh? Whatever, let’s just move to the next part. If I am not wrong, that psychopath Karina might be in the market patrolling the area right now. Let’s meet with her. After that, let’s solve the problem with Albert too before it grows into something I might feel bad about,” I speak to myself as I vanish from there and wake up into reality.
“All right, let’s get started then,” I say enthusiastically, waking up Corey and Chase as I walk outside the room where I find Lucy and Leraye playing a game similar to chess or perhaps a bit more complicated than chess. Kaneto is observing them, probably acting like a judge.
“All three of you meet me near this location at this time. Albert will probably be there, keep him engaged until I arrive,” I speak as I pass a paper to them, mentioning the location and the exact time I will arrive.
I see them nodding and then getting back to the game while Kaneto takes the paper with him.
…
Reaching the market, I move in the direction where the chance of meeting Karina is highest. Karina is a psychopath or, more precisely, a person with a twisted personality. Based on my deduction, it is her upbringing. Since it is something that has taken root in her for such a long time; I don’t think even I can cure her unless I destroy her and remake her, but that won’t be her anymore, so no point in doing that, I guess. The reason I wanted to meet her was to pass a message to the King.
After walking for a while, I see Karina in front of a weapons shop, staring at an expensive-looking spear. She seems to have taken a liking to it. She then takes the spear and brings in front of the counter,
“I want this spear,” she says as she throws a few platinum coins on the table and takes the spear with her. The shopkeeper looks dumbfounded, then thanks her with a slight bow.
As she’s walking out of the shop, her eyes fall on me and her footsteps come to a halt. Her previous dominant attitude crumbles, and a slightly terrified yet confused expression forms on her face.
I wave at her with a smile, making her flinch. Then I walk towards her slowly as I observe her expression. She gulps, then takes a step back, then gulps again, then takes a step back again. Her body looks like it is getting more numb as moments pass.
“Wh-What do you want?” She tries to compose herself but fails as she stutters. The surrounding people are somewhat shocked by her attitude. Their attention first falls on her and then towards where I was standing.
Before their eyesight could reach me, I vanished from there and left a letter in her pocket.
Observing her from a distance, sweat seems to trickle down her forehead. As the anxiety settles, she notices the paper. Opening the paper, her eyes turn slightly confused before a relaxed expression forms on her face. Then she appears behind me in an instant,
“You…You should have said that from the beginning. What is it you want to talk about?” She seems to be quite relaxed now. Just what was going on in her mind previously? Did she think I was going to kill her or something?
“Haha..” A chuckle escapes my mouth as I realise how childish she is without her psychopathic nature. Maybe she just needs the right friends or the right place to live? Who knows? In any case, it’s not really my problem.
“I just want you to pass a message to Allen when you reach back to Sol Kingdom. Just tell him I will arrive in Sol Kingdom in 3 years,” I say what was going on in my mind. Honestly, I had to rack my brain for a long time to make this decision. It may sound simple to tell someone about when I will arrive, but given the time and date on which I arrive, everything changes. I have finally decided that I will take part in the Champion’s selection that year. It might give me a clue related to the other worlds and also help me find or maybe even create a way back to my old world.
“Is that all?” She seems to be confused at my request. Her expression looks like she was expecting something more. Well, sorry to pop your expectations, but it really is all this time.
I nod at her and vanish from there towards the Greater Leaf Forest as I find her still making that confused expression.
I then move to the direction where the Pixies live. Since I finally have some time, I might as well take my fees from Leilena. The reason I hadn’t taken the fees yet is because she didn’t have any money when she had returned to her place, which resulted in her begging to me for sometime before she could repay me, at which this date was finally fixed after some consideration. The other reason was simply me protecting Corey all the time. Just because nobody else came other than the Kings does not mean no one else will come later. At least that’s what I believe.
‘Precautions are better than cure, right?’
I soon reached the desired location and waited for a few moments before the Pixie Queen and the Wood Fairy Queen came flying to me with some other guards who looked out for me.
“Fancy seeing you here,” I speak to the Wood Fairy Queen in a casual tone at which the guards make a displeasure filled expression, but before they can do anything, Aria makes a gesture to them to stand down.
“I heard you will leave soon. I also heard you will arrive here to meet Leilena. I just wanted to once again thank you,” she bows as she thanks me, then gets back up again. Her eyes are filled with admiration. The other pixies and wood fairies are stunned at this development.
“It’s okay. I just did it as a job. Take it as a business deal and if you ever need anything else, you can always contact me. For a deal, of course, I will give you my contact on the day I leave,” I speak to Aria with a smile, then turn to Leilena as my humble smile turns to that of a businessman’s smile.
“So Miss Leilena, is the payment ready?”
