Reincarnated as an Energy with a System - Chapter 1474: New Owner
1474 New Owner
Ning returned to the penthouse and waited for the other three to return.
Tim returned with a dejected look, nearly crying. “Sir Ning, I lost the horn. I… I didn’t even see who took it.” “Someone with slippery hands no doubt,” Ning said before tossing the horn back to him.
Tim grabbed it and looked at it in surprise. “Huh? How?” he asked, looking back at Ning. “Did you steal it?”
“Of course not,” Ning said. “I took it from the person who stole it from you.
He tossed the box next, and then the ring.
“My ring!” Jasmine cried out in happiness. Her face brightened up a lot, and she began jumping in glee.
“How did you get it?” Tony asked. “We didn’t even see how it was or how he looked like.”
“I… have my ways,” Ning said and brought out the pen. He let it be seen by them, and the color and shape of it immediately let them know it was a Zurin treasure.
“That’s… did that belong to that man who stole from us?” Tim asked.
“It is,” Ning said.
“Where is that man?” Jasmine asked. “I want to punch him a few good times.”
“He’s dead.”
Jasmine paused. The others looked at. Ning weirdly. The atmosphere in the room suddenly got a lot more gloomy.
“Dead?” she asked. “You killed him?”
“Killed himself,” Ning said. “Probably thought he would get his pen back if he did so.”
Jasmine’s face was pale in horror as she imagined a person killing himself for the pen in Ning’s hand.
“Don’t worry about him. He wasn’t a good person. He was a pirate, a very active one. Constantly pillaged villages and towns, and killed men, women, and children without mercy. A very cruel man. He does not. deserve your sympathy.”
Jasmine nodded. “Why would he get his pen back if he killed himsell?” she asked.
Ning tossed the pen toward Tim, “Go and check why,” he said. “Oh! And don’t use the pen. We will still need to decide who gets to keep the pen between you two!”
He turned to look at Tony, ‘Sorry, but you won’t get it’
Tony shrugged. “That’s alright, I already got one from you. That’s way more than I could’ve hoped for! He went to check what it said that the pen did.
A minute later, all 3 returned to Ning with their eyes wide open. They clearly were too shocked by the treasure.
Ning smiled. “Do you see how I had to act instead of you?” he asked.
Tim paused for a second and nodded. “How did you do it?” he asked. “How could he possibly have lost when he could see all outcomes?”
“Just because he could see all outcomes doesn’t mean that all outcomes led to what he wanted, Ning answered. “That and he ended up crasing his checkpoint after he teleported away from the bar after stealing your horn. That was why I had you go around showing it off.”
“I see, Jasmine said slowly. “So who gets the pen? It’s too good for either of us to let go of it!
Ning thought for a bit. I’ll let the two of you decide it out,” he said. ‘But just to make it a little more fair, I’ll tell you what the next treasure we are getting will be.”
“What?” Jasmine’s cyes widened slightly. “We’re getting another treasure now?”
“Not now,” Ning said. “Soon. The treasure you will be getting is a pair of spectacles, which will allow you to see everyone who intends to harm you in some way.”
“Should the person decide to act to harm you, he will lose all memories of what it was that he wanted to do, thereby making it so that the person never harmed you!”
“If any harm does come to you, it would not be because someone decided to harm you. In that instance, the treasure will protect you from the 3 incidents where you would have been gravely injured every single day!” “In the instance that the threat would have killed you, the treasure will protect you just once a day.”
Ning looked at the two. “If any of you want that treasure, you can let go of this one!
The two thought for a bit, wondering which treasure it was that they wanted. It was clear to them that the pen was simply the better treasure, but would they want to relive the same days upon days, again and again? Tim’s argument was that he could use this treasure to become an amazing scholar, who read all the books.
Jasmine’s argument was that when she opened her orphanage, she could help the children before they were hurt.
It was no doubt whose argument won in the end.
“So I’m getting the pair of glasses I suppose?” Tim asked Ning.
“Yep,” Ning said. “We’ll be heading there right now.”
Jasmine excitedly took the pen and started using it. As soon as she used it, she ran out of the door and disappeared.
“What is she doing?” Tony asked.
“She’s too afraid to kill herself, Ning said.
“And what? She’s going to ask someone else to kill her?” Tony asked.
“No,” Ning said with a bit of a chuckle. “She wants to use the other power of the treasure.”
As he pointed, Jasmine reappeared in the room where she had drawn the circle.
“Wooah!” she shouted. “Did you see that? I teleported just now. I was down in the lobby and I suddenly arrived here.”
“You might want to get into the habit of immediately drawing another checkpoint as soon as you teleport.” “Oh, right,” Jasmine said and quickly drew a circle. Her face was a mass of joy as she constantly beamed.
“We got the 10 treasures, as you asked, Tim told Ning.
“And I told you what the treasure does and will do for the upcoming ones, Ning said. “You completed the mission successfully. Congratulations.”
Tim smiled softly. “What now?”
“Now… we leave.”
