- Chapter 17 Our First Intruders Part 2
[10 Minutes Earlier]
“Looks like they made it on time, Orai. Is everything prepared?”, I asked.
“Yes! Everything should be in place. The Dungeon still identifies them as C+ so we shouldn’t have much to worry about. Briggs finished the remodeling of the front door earlier while Bose finished furnishing the rest area. How was your mob selection?”, Orai asked.
“It was pretty good. I got to spend all but 15 DP on the mobs! Look at this!”, I said.
Upon opening the Dungeon Interface, I showed Orai the entire list of mobs deployed in the dungeon:

“Wow! That’s a nice list of mobs! Are you going to place the C-rank mobs at the front?”, Orai asked.
“That’s the plan! Constrictor would work best if the weaker mobs were in the front and the stronger mobs were in the back. I was thinking of moving Obsidian to the middle of the Corridor instead of the front. That way, he can have the backup of the C+ mobs instead of the C mobs. I’m going to try to stock up on Orcs since they are pretty versatile. That’s why I went ahead and bought 15 of them”, I said.
“Looks like the adventurers are walking around the mountain. I think they are trying to reach Krotos’ nest but they should find the Dungeon door eventually”, Orai said.
“I’ll go ahead and move down to the Rest Area. Briggs! Make sure to watch Elizabeth and Bruce! I still don’t trust Bose with them. I feel like he’s going to accidentally hit my son”, Krotos said.
“Don’t worry so much Krotos! Bose is watching the Core Room and your family at the same time! He’s an A+ rank Golem so just go to the rest area and enact the plan! I can’t even participate since they’ll know I’m an Architect. I feel like a dwarf sitting in a rehab clinic for Fairy dust abuse. Useless”, Briggs said.
Krotos hesitantly agreed and teleported down to the Rest Area. He closed the wooden doors to the Corridor and picked up the bow that Briggs made. As he was practicing his shots, he noticed that the Dungeon’s door opened. He saw that the group of adventurers were entering the dungeon, with a muscular warrior leading the way.
“See? Nothing to worry about! Let’s hurry up and raid this dungeon already!”, Miller said.
“Who the hell does this guy think he is? Raid?? My Dungeon?! This guy has to die first! Orai! Get dressed in the armor! We’re going down there right now!”, I said.
“I mean if you say so but how do we explain our presence though? Won’t it be weird to see us randomly pop up?”, Orai asked.
“We can say we were sleeping in the rest area upstairs. We can also have Krotos back up our claims. I was planning to use Krotos to deceive them but I can’t let this asshole breathe another breath. It’s time to use what Hidarus taught me!”, I said.

[Now]
As the adventurers called out to Krotos, he began to smirk.
“Hello, fellow adventurers! How are you doing today?”, Krotos said.
“Oi! Who are you and why are you in this Dungeon?” Miller took out his greatsword, which was a wide and brutal weapon. However, Krotos was unfazed, as he put the bow over his shoulder and placed his hand on his sword. Miller began to ask another question. “This dungeon hasn’t been here for 3 days and a C-rank dungeon has a Rest Area? You know something, don’t you?”.
Miller and Krotos began staring at each other, the atmosphere slowly becoming tense and hostile. Before Miller could do anything stupid, Ronan and Emily hit Miller in the back. He quickly fell on his face.
“Sorry about this asshole. Miller’s good at swinging his sword but not so good at using his words. The problems of being an idiot, I suppose”, Ronan said.
“Anyway! My name is Emily and this is Ronan! This asshole down here is Miller and we were assigned to this dungeon by Ravenscar! What’s your name?”, Emily asked.
“My name is Krotos and I’m a wandering adventurer. I happened to find this strange Dungeon while walking through the forest. It’s times like these you wish you had wings, right?”, Krotos joked.
“Hey, Krotos! Are you done practicing your archery yet? We were planning on playing a game of cards while the food cooks!”, I shouted.
Orai and I began walking down the stairs in the armor and weaponry that I bought. Luckily, it made us look like adventurers. These served as good combat gear and disguises at the same time.
“Who are these two? I thought you were a wandering adventurer?”, Ronan asked.
I ran into these two while running from a Dire Wolf. I’m only a B-rank so it’s scary when you run into a 10-foot B+ Dire Wolf! Luckily, they helped me kill it. They are fellow B ranks”, Krotos said.
As Orai and I walked over to the adventurers, we noticed that the asshole was on the ground. I decided to help him up, attempting to win his trust.
“Hey, buddy! Are you alright? What happened? Your nose is leaking blood!”, I said.
“Really? Shit! These assholes kicked me in the back for no reason! I’m the one asking the right questions here! This guy has to be the Dungeon Master of this dungeon!”, Miller said.
“Hahaha! Krotos wishes he was the Dungeon Master! We still haven’t seen them but you are welcome to join us upstairs! We are relaxing in the dungeon for a few days since they built a comfortable Rest Area. It’s pretty comfy so let us take you upstairs”, I said.
As Miller happily agreed, Orai and I put Miller over our shoulders and walked him towards the stairs.
Once we were far enough from Emily and Ronan, we turned toward each other.
We both had the same sinister grin as we carried Miller up the stairs.
They didn’t suspect a thing, which is exactly what we needed.

“Good thing you had an extra 15 DP on you! 3 Sleeping Potions for 15 DP isn’t a bad purchase!”, Orai said.
After discreetly using the sleeping potion on Miller, we threw his dumbass on the ground.
“Bitch ass brute! Try to raid my dungeon! I’ll kick your ass!”, I said.
“Oi. You know he can’t hear you right? He’s asleep. But what’s the plan now? They think we’re adventurers so what’s the next step?”, Orai asked.
“Well, if we can earn their trust, we can persuade them to enter the Corridor of their own free will. That way, if any of them die, the remaining ones will only see it as a casualty. It’s important that they trust us so we can persuade them to bring more adventurers here. Hidarus said that killing adventurers as soon as they arrive will stunt your growth as a Dungeon. However, if we can increase the notoriety of the dungeon, we can get more individuals inside. Some will die and that’s great but if we can get a large amount of them to stay in the dungeon at one time…”, I said.
“I see what you mean. You want to keep individuals in the rest area as long as possible while some adventurers give their life to the dungeon. Not a bad plan, Jordan”, Orai said.
“I know! The first thing we have to decide is who to kill though. They still think that this is a C-rank dungeon, despite the mobs being higher than that. They’ll have a 0% survival rate if they walk through most of the Corridor. That’s not even considering that we have two Cerberus dogs at the end of the first floor. The mobs won’t be able to hold back from killing them and some of the C-rank mobs will probably die. However, long-term, we can generate more intruders if we let at least one of them live”, I said.
“Does that mean we are moving forward with the plan that Briggs suggested? Are we really going to build a Dungeon Town around the dungeon? What morality are you pursuing? An Evil Dungeon that kills any and all intruders? A Helpful Dungeon that only kills when they have to? What side have you chosen Dungeon Master Jordan?”, Orai asked curiously.
As I kicked Miller’s body a number of times, I thought for a few minutes about what Orai said.
After I was satisfied with kicking Miller’s body, I sat on the stone bench and gave my answer.
“Honestly, I think I’ll be Omnimoral. It’s the only way to be the best dungeon, right?”, I said.
However, I couldn’t tell Orai the truth.
I started to like the idea of killing intruders, despite only recently becoming a Dungeon Master.
It seems that Hidarus is starting to rub off on me, as my humanity begins to wane.
