- Chapter 29 The Hidarus Challenge Part 2
“It seems that great minds think alike. I surmised that you would be the only other member to choose this position”, Krotos said confidently.
“Hehehe. Of course! My future lover asked me to protect his Dungeon. I’m expecting a nice amount of his vitality when this is over. Slim, muscular, ambitious, and not to mention cute! In some ways, he reminds me of King Quill”, Helora stated.
“Good luck with that. I’m pretty sure Jordan likes Orai and Orai likes Jordan. From what Briggs told me, they’ve been too busy with the Dungeon to focus on those types of matters”, Krotos said.
“I guess that’s fair. I’ll deal with it after the challenge. Let’s open these doors and see what we’re working with”, Helora stated.
As Helora and Krotos opened the Dungeon’s doors, they noticed that a large number of hostiles were currently waiting for them. Upon spreading their wings and flying above the Dungeon, they noticed that around 100 total hostiles were spread out around the grassland. The hostiles that immediately caught their eye were the three behemoths making a triangle-like formation around the grassland. Around the same time, Jordan used the Dungeon’s communication system to telepathically talk to them both.
“Can you guys hear me? This is my first time using this so I hope you can hear me. Briggs, Bose, and Obsidian are stationed inside Holy Constrictor while Me, Orai, and Vrudius are in the Core Room. It seems that for the time being, you guys are on your own. The Dungeon says that there are 100 hostiles remaining but the average level is A-. Also, the Dungeon is picking up behemoths as tall as 300 feet. Can you confirm this?”, Jordan asked.
“We can confirm, darling!”, Helora said seductively.
“Hey! What do you think you’re saying at a time like this? Focus on the challenge, skank!”, Orai said angrily.
“Oh. I didn’t know the core was on the same line, Master Jordan. I’ll be sure to have a private chat with you later”, Helora said flirtingly.
“We see the three behemoths, Jordan. However, the enemy seems to be waiting for something. How many minutes until the challenge begins?”, Krotos asked.
“We barely have a minute remaining but are they really going to follow it down to the very second? Guess Hidarus really is an Impartial…wait a minute. It says a high-profile target was just added. Do you see anything strange on the battlefield?”, Jordan asked.
“Would a large Dragon count as strange?”, Helora asked.
From above the grassland, Krotos and Helora were able to see the large but not giant Dragon arrive on the battlefield by the use of a magic circle at the top of the mountain. As it flew out of the circle, it reached towards the sky until it transformed in front of Krotos and Helora. It then took a female form similar to Helora, with Dragon wings, horns, and tail on an overly attractive female form. Helora was able to identify the high-profile target.
“Jordan. It looks like we have one of Hidarus’s Draconic Valkyries leading the assault on the Dungeon. Judging from her armor set, it looks to be a Junior Valkyrie. Most likely an A rank”, Helora said.
The Valkyrie seemingly teleported in front of them before appearing behind Krotos and Helora.
“Hello! My name is Hedra and I’ll be the challenger for your Dungeon today! We have 30 seconds remaining so we can still act friendly for the time being! You guys look pretty strong! I’m impressed!”, Hedra beamed.
“Is this really one of Hidarus’s Valkyries? She seems a little too nice”, Krotos said.
“Don’t be fooled, Griffin. Valkyries may appear attractive and pure on the outside but they’re enlisted by Hidarus for a reason. Draconic Valkyries are sadistic and dangerous beings but at least they’re not Hidarian Valkyries. Those S+ Valkyries can kill Gods if they wanted to. Just thinking about them makes me sick.
“One day, I’ll join the Hidarian Valkyries and work alongside our God but I have to prove myself to Father Hidarus. I think destroying this Dungeon and cutting off your heads will do the trick. You guys seem pretty strong despite having such a young Dungeon! I was surprised he sent me to such a young Dungeon but I think I can get a promotion from this. Do you want a quick death or a heroic death? I’m nice enough to hear your final words, you know?”, Hedra smirked.
“You must feel pretty damn confident to say that shit in front of us. How about we both serious and kill each other? All this talking but not enough action. Won’t be the first time I faced a Valkyrie”, Helora smiled.
“I would love to send you straight to the Overlord Of Hell but Hidarus put certain rules for this challenge. You’ll have to take out one of my Behemoths before you’re allowed to attack me. I’m also not allowed to attack you until you do so. I mean, why should I waste my time on members who can’t kill a behemoth? Let alone 3 A+ Behemoths attacking at the same time”, Hedra said arrogantly.
Upon the expiration of the time, a loud War Horn could be heard from below. It seemed that the challenge had begun.
“Well, that’s my signal. You know how it is. I have to do what Valkyries do best. Enjoy the behemoths!”, Hedra said.
After talking to Krotos and Helora, a large magic circle appeared under Hedra, who quickly teleported herself to an unknown location. As Helora and Krotos looked down at the grassland, they noticed that a large amount of mobs were converging towards the Dungeon. While some of the Behemoths were somewhat slow-moving creatures, they each had the power to destroy the Dungeon in only a few hits. Helora decided to use the communication magic that she learned at Quill’s Castle to contact Quill’s Former Military Tactics Expert.
“Hey, Vrudius! You used to specialize in military tactics, right? What do you recommend we do in this situation?”, Helora asked.
“Former Demon King Quill’s proudful strategist is asking ME for advice? I never thought I would see the day!”, Vrudius stated proudly.
“Asshole. Just tell me what you recommend already. Jeez”, Helora pouted.
“Hahaha! I’m just joking around, Helora! As for what you guys should do, I think you should start out with a barrage of magic attacks over the entire grassland. Hidarus said that Krotos was the Griffin Of Ice, right? If he is truly the son of apollo, he should be able to slow down or freeze most of the troops. You’re an expert at offense at the expense of defense so you’ll need Krotos to be your shield. Until Dungeon Master Jordan gets some more DP, he won’t be able to summon support mobs for all the members. You guys need to take some out and throw them into the Dungeon’s Effective area to activate [Absorb u0026 Kill]. That’s our primary focus right now”, Vrudius said.
“Hey, Krotos! Vrudius said that we should-“, Helora barely stated.
“Apollo’s Hailstorm! 2nd Generation!”
“Apollo’s Electric Hurricane! 1st Generation!”
“Apollo’s Icy Prison! 4th Generation!”, Krotos shouted.
As large electric hurricanes and heavy Hailstorms began to hit the entire army, Helora noticed that the various types of A+ behemoths were temporarily stuck into place:
————————————-
[Behemoth-Class Beasts Currently Present]
Wyrm Titan: It’s a rather elusive behemoth. It spends most of its time underground but when it surfaces, it usually causes misfortune and terrifying destruction. It’s unknown how massive these behemoth Wyrms are since they never show their entire body. However, most of Orune’s inhabitants agree that they are always massive. In this case, the Wyrm Titan is currently 300 feet tall.
Frost Of Ruin: A Behemoth that runs on frost and has the ability to control flying minions. These smaller flying beasts not only protect Frost from harm but also does its psionic bidding. The Frost Of Ruin is best thought of as a whole host of creatures instead of a single behemoth. At 200 feet tall, this behemoth will prove to be a challenge.
Flame Titan: A behemoth with some resemblance to the Titan God Of Destruction. It has power over scorching heat and employs creative use of his flames. Given the situation and it’s height of 200 feet, it may be the weakest of three.

“What a pain in the ass. This is gonna be a long battle isn’t it?”, Helora sighed.
“Best to get it over with, Helora. Jordan and the rest of the members are counting on us. I saw hostiles heading into the Dungeon so I’m trying to slow them down. Looks like some got through but I’m sure that alcoholic dwarf can handle it”, Krotos joked.
“If you say so, Krotos. Hey! Save some of the hostiles for me! And I call dibs on the Flame Titan! You can kill the Wyrm Titan!”, Helora shouted.
“Lightning Of The Pathfinder! 2nd Generation!”, Helora shouted.
“Huh? I’m not killing the Wyrm Titan! You kill it! It’s a pain in the ass to kill that thing!”, Krotos said.
As Helora and Krotos began to ruthlessly barrage the army, Briggs was currently dealing with the stragglers who were lucky enough to avoid the attacks…
