Reincarnated As Both God And The Devil - Chapter 238
“What’s going on!?”
The people in the town all started to panic as the ground beneath them trembled. The skies also turned completely dark, with even the moon outside could no longer be seen as they were surrounded by a sort of dome.
“This… this is the 2nd time this month that this has happened!”
“Is this it!? Is this the end of the world!? Have the gods forsaken us!?”
“This is probably the new Demon God’s doing!”
“We’re all going to die!”
The guards scrambled to keep the townspeople in check. They’ve all gathered them in the plaza, right in the center of the town as Sofia told them to.
“Gabriel, what is going on here!?”
Even the mayor and his family were taken outside of their manor and was now screaming his lungs out at Gabriel.
“Are we under attack!? But I have not received any reports from the neighboring cities and the borders that the undead has gotten through our lands!” The mayor tried to lower his voice so that the other people could not hear him, but alas, his nerves did not allow him to be quiet.
“No, sir. It’s not the undead!”
“Then what is it!? What is going on here? I need some answers so we can calm the people down!”
“It’s… I honestly do not know as well, sir. But we are sure that it is not the undead,” Gabriel could only let out a sigh as the mayor started waving his hands in front of him. He heard what Sofia said earlier, that it wasn’t the undead…
…But the gods.
How was he even supposed to say that to the mayor? Even though he was finding it hard to believe what she said… but considering what is happening right now, maybe the gods really were fighting outside?
If so, then the undead was the least of their problems. He was an old man now, but he grew up in a very superstitious family. He could still remember the tales and stories his grandmother would tell him at night, how the gods live amongst them, and were watching everything.
That when the time comes, they will be judged by their actions.
…Were they being judged by their actions now? Or maybe… the gods are here to help them quell the undead and the Demon God herself?
Whatever the case may be, he still had a duty to fulfill as the leader of the guards. And so, he could only let out a sigh as he excused himself from the fuming mayor.
“Let’s go, kid. Do not leave my side,” He stretched his arms towards the young girl that Sofia handed over to him. But after a few seconds of his hand only meeting the air, Gabriel could not help but gulp nervously.
“W… where!?” Gabriel looked around the crowd to see if the girl was anywhere near, but alas, no matter how many children he turned around, she was nowhere to be found.
“!!!”

The skies themselves trembled as a deafening thunder echoed throughout the night. The clouds rippled as space itself seemingly crumbled. If the people of the town were not protected by Sofia’s bubble, they would surely see the clearest sky they have ever seen in their lives.
And they would also see what seemed like a mountain floating and hammering in the air. Creating thunders as it moved, and a skirt of wind circling it.
But then, the mountain suddenly crumbled. With its chunks bursting into flames as it fell towards the ground and creating craters as they land. If it were not for the bubble that Sofia summoned to protect the town, they would have already been obliterated.
Sofia wanted to see what was happening outside, she wanted to help Viel. But alas, she could not leave, as losing focus even just for a single second might mean death for the people of this town.
Throughout the years that she had spent with Viel, the only magic that she practiced and improved was her Shield Bubble, in order to protect Viel if ever he runs amok and loses control of his powers.
But even then, even with all of her strength and mana, she could still feel the overwhelming difference between her and a god.
Back in the skies, the majestic colossal platform that Noah made had now almost disintegrated into nothing. The two were floating in the sky, with Noah manipulating the earth. Creating a mountain with only a single small stone and throwing it towards Viel.
Viel looked like an ant as the mountain of rocks approached him at an almost blinding speed, but even then, he did not even move from his spot. His hand was the only thing that was moving, stretched out as he casually flicked his finger.
And with a single flick, crevices and cracks formed on the mountain that was thrown at him, and without even a single second, it obliterated into small chunks.
“Once again, I am correct.” Noah whispered as he watched the mountain he made crumble into pieces, “Even with a human form, you are more powerful than I am. This is a dangerous power for someone like you to have, Viel.”
“…Maybe.”
“…And yet I know now that although your powers are dangerous, you yourself are not.”
“What?”
“If you were, then you would have extinguished me already. Tell me, even when I threatened you and told you that your grandparents were of my bidding, why do you not kill me?”
“…Why would I even do that? You’re the one trying to kill me, mister Noah. I am just protecting myself.”
“…”
“I was just a little heated up earlier from hearing what you did. But as I said… I do not really feel any connection towards the people that are no longer in my memory. It is painful, yes… I could feel my old self howling from inside me. But I have my own life now. As I said, I am selfish. Whatever happened in my past, they will forever remain there…
…This… is my life now.”
“I see. So you–”
“But it doesn’t mean I won’t beat the shit out of you!”
“!!!”
Noah’s blue eyes widened in surprise as Viel suddenly disappeared from his spot, only to appear in front of him almost instantly. Once again, a deafening thunder echoed throughout the skies as the clouds that were forming once again dispersed.
Even with his God form, Noah’s blue and almost impenetrable skin cracked, starting from his chin as he flew even higher through the skies.
His ascent did not stop until he felt his body no longer bound by the earth’s gravity.
‘Been a while since I have been to space,’ was Noah’s current thought as he looked around him. His thoughts were short-lived, however. As he once again felt his vision shift, finding himself back inside the earth’s atmosphere.
If it was not for Viel’s legs stopping him from completely falling to the ground, then the whole Northern continent would have ended there and then.
“…”
After being treated like a gigantic ragdoll for almost half a minute, Viel finally stopped as he wiped the single sweat that formed on his face.
Noah, whose gigantic body was lying flat in the center of a huge crater, slowly started to revert back to his human form as he sat up.
“For someone who says that he can’t control his powers, you seem to be good at holding back.”
“…We have my old self to thank for that.”
Hearing Viel’s words, Noah could not help but let out a tiny scoff. He then looked around him, the grass and the trees that once populated the area were nowhere to be found anymore. What is left is only the presence of death.
Without the presence of Sofia’s shield bubble protecting the town, this would have been nothing but a desert by now.
Viel was about to rush towards Noah again, but before he could do so, Noah raised his arms, gesturing his surrender. But alas… Viel could not see.
And so, he was once again hit on the cheek, flying straight towards the town and completely going through the shield bubble without even a slight resistance.
“!!!”
Sofia’s eyes could not help but widen as he saw Noah suddenly going through the barrier and rolling on the paved ground.
The skies once again showed themselves to the town as Sofia quickly removed the shield bubble and concentrated all of her mana in her hands before pointing it towards Noah. She was about to summon a ball of flame containing all of her mana, but before she could do so, Lyanna appeared out of nowhere.
“No! Please stop hurting father!”
Lyanna rushed towards Noah’s side, covering him with her small body.
“Get away from him, Lyanna!” Sofia’s hands trembled as the mana in her hands started heating up.
“No! Please do not hurt father anymore! He won’t do it again, miss Sofia. I promise!” Lyanna embraced Noah even tighter as she saw the flames that were starting to build up in Sofia’s hand.
“You–”
“You’re scaring the child.”
Before Sofia could even say a word, someone suddenly grabbed her hand, completely dispersing the colossal mana that she had gathered.
“V… Vi?”
“How are you going to be a good mother to our own children if you’re like this, Sofi?” Viel then lightly hit Sofia’s head.
“W… what?”
Sofia could only blink a couple of times as she slightly looked up to see Viel’s face.
“Y… you’re standing!?”
It has been years since Sofia last saw Viel standing. And now that he was here, standing beside her, he truly did make a fine young ma–
Sofia quickly shook her head from the thoughts that were suddenly surfacing in her mind. This was not the right time to be thinking about that.
“Vi! I will grab Lyanna, you finish–”
“No. The fight’s over.”
Once again, before Sofia could finish her words, Noah slowly stood up. “It wasn’t a fight in the first place…
…I give up.”
“…Eh?”
