Reincarnated As God - Chapter 31 Explanations
Meng Li showed an… Interesting expression in response. The highest level of cultivation he had heard about was Primordial Realm, but he hadn’t heard about Origin Soul. He could only hope that the system would be nice and explain it to him.
[It’s the realm above Nascent Soul.] the system’s voice was, as usual, completely devoid of emotions.
Meng Li was awed at the revelation. He couldn’t help but ask more, in curiosity.
“What was the highest realm of cultivation where you lived?” Meng Li tried to hide his eager expression, but Ye Jian seemed to notice it.
“Primordial Realm. Though I’ve heard rumours that there was a possibility of breaking through to an even higher realm.” Ye Jian was quite respectful when talking about the Primordial Realm, but when he mentioned the realm above that, Meng Li could see intense respect on his face.
“Now it’s my turn to ask. What’s your cultivation level?” Ye Jian quickly wiped the respectful expression from his face and gazed at Meng Li deeply.
Normally, Meng Li would simply casually answer the question, but after hearing of the high cultivation level of past Ye Jian, he suddenly came to an awkward realisation. Ye Jian… wouldn’t be able to cultivate to his past life’s level.
“Uhhh… Late Qi Foundation Realm.” He answered with an embarrassed smile. Ye Jian’s face suddenly changed.
“What? Then why can’t I see your culti- Nevermind.” He began speaking with astonishment before suddenly stopping. He seemed like he said too much.
“You can’t sense my level of cultivation?” Meng Li guessed what Ye Jian said even though he tried to stop in the middle.
“Normally, it’s because my cultivation level is higher than you, but since you had such a high cultivation base, you probably have some special method… In that case, I really have no idea.” Meng Li was nowhere near the level of trust required to tell Ye Jian about his cultivation path. Though, with that came another mystery – he broke free of the normal cultivation path quite recently, and Ye Jian was on his level cultivation for much longer, and had seen him enough times to be able to execute whatever secret technique he had. It was strange.
he asked the system.
[Yes. Due to you being the master of this world, its’ energy prevents other people from sensing your cultivation level. It also prevents you from being harmed, though you didn’t have any chance to witness it. With your current level of cultivation, you can’t control it to do something else – to control or even sense it, you first need to sense laws.] the system emotionlessly replied.
At first, Meng Li was tempted to sense the mysterious energy, but upon hearing that to require it, he first needed to comprehend laws, he gave up. Even though he was confident, he wasn’t stupid – he was nowhere near the level of cultivation required to come in contact with laws.
The communication with the system was practically instant – Ye Jian didn’t even notice Meng Li fazing out for the short period of time it took.
“That’s… Nevermind.” Ye Jian pondered before sighing and giving up.
“Now that we have an opportunity to catch up, might I ask something?” Meng Li was careful in asking this particular question. It was quite sensitive, and he wanted Ye Jian’s permission before asking it, in order to avoid offending him.
“Sure, go ahead.” Ye Jian absent-mindedly answered. He seemed to be reminiscing.
“Do you… Care about Ye Jin and Xie Ja?” Meng Li originally wanted to say ‘love’, but he changed his mind at the last second.
Ye Jian’s gaze refocused and he gazed at Meng Li sharply.
“Yes.” he said strongly. “Why are you asking?” he was forceful, and it was obvious that Meng Li’s question had reminded him of something painful.
“Despite the difference in cultivation, I don’t think mortals are in any way worse than me, and are real humans. Ye Jin is my friend, and I don’t want him to experience the feeling of betrayal from his first child.” Meng Li replied. He wasn’t rude, but his gaze was piercing and he stared directly into Ye Jian’s eyes as he talked. Ye Jian visibly relaxed.
“That’s… Good.” he answered hesitatingly.
“Yes, I do care about them. Love them, in fact. Despite the fact that I had such a high level of cultivation in my previous life, my parents were killed when I was really young. I was able to escape with the help of a loyal servant, and I managed to take revenge after the fact. However, I barely remember anything about them… And Ye Jin and Xie Ja… My parents… Cared about me, took care of me, love me. Even though I’m already an adult, it’s still touching to have someone so close…”
Meng Li could sense a strong sorrow from Ye Jian as he told his story. From his tone, he talked about the murder of his parents and the revenge without many emotions at all, like it was of no meaning. Meng Li remembered the many descriptions of revenge he had read – it leaved someone feeling hollow inside. It seemed like those descriptions were actually true…
Meng Li stayed silent as he sat on the rock. Ye Jian also sat silently, gazing at the bright sky. Meng Li silently looked at his figure. Although he was only eight, he seemed so much older than that… If his body was older, Meng Li would consider sharing some wine to drown his sorrows.
A few minutes passed. Ye Jian finally stopped gazing at the empty blue sky and returned his gaze to Meng Li.
Meng Li smiled at him.
“So, what are your plans for the future?” Meng Li asked.
“I don’t know. There aren’t any ways for me to learn of the state of this world in such a small place… I only know the name of the empire we live in and the name of the town. Nothing more…” Ye Jian sighed, before looking at Meng Li.
“You should know more. Mind telling me about this world?” he asked.
“No problem.” Meng Li answered casually.

“There are two empires, the Full Moon Empire and the Heavenly Dragon Empire.” As Meng Li talked, he actively scanned the globe in his consciousness to search for the strongest individuals.
“There’s one major sect, the Heavenly Sword Sect. They had some disagreements with the Full Moon Empire in the past, so they created a puppet state – the Nine Sun Kingdom, to oppose the Full Moon Empire. However, this might be quite strange for you… The strongest people in all of the world are only at the peak of the Qi Sea Realm.” Meng Li continued talking. He could see Ye Jian’s eyes widening as he finished, so he decided to prepare a small barrier around them, just in case. His worries were confirmed, as he heard Ye Jian’s thunderous shout.
“WHAT?!” Ye Jian shouted. Fortunately, the barrier Meng Li created withstood the shout easily, or the shout would’ve definitely been heard in Qingshui town. Ye Jian had a cultivation of the 6th layer of Qi Gathering, and he unconsciously used his Qi in the shout.
Meng Li chose to stay silent for the time being as he felt Ye Jian’s stare burn a hole in his face’s profile.
“So… You’re telling me that you’re the strongest person in the world?!” Ye Jian practically shouted.
“Uhhh… Yes.” Meng Li embarrassedly answered.
“How is this possible? There is no way to be able to control a world without a cultivation of the Primordial Realm… How is it possible that no Primordial Realm cultivator decided to take control of this world? No, how come you didn’t decide to do so?!” Ye Jian bombarded Meng Li with questions.
Meng Li decided to answer them all at the same time.
“This… Might be kind of a surprise, but this entire world was kind of… Given to me by a mysterious master. He picked me when I was merely a mortal because my talent was extremely good, and he threw me in a white room with the order to cultivate to the Qi Sea Realm. He has also left me a treasury of items I can summon using Qi… With my cultivation right now, I can summon items useful up to the Nascent Soul Realm.” Meng Li replied. There was really no use of hiding this information. After all, what would he do? Find someone stronger than Meng Li and try to take away his legacy? There was no one stronger than Meng Li in this world. At first, he didn’t want to say it since he was worried of ruining his relationship with Ye Jian, but right now, it was practically impossible to hide it from Ye Jian.
Ye Jian was practically numb at this point. He didn’t react at all, only staring at Meng Li with an unbelieving gaze.
“You mean to tell me… This entire world was left to you by your master?” Ye Jian asked with a small grin. Meng Li was able to tell that he didn’t believe him.
“No, I created it. The white room moves at a different rate than this world – when I’m in the white room, the time moves a thousand times faster here. I cultivated for about twenty years in there, while the people here developed. I came out because I sensed that something has happened – it was your arrival.” Although Meng Li was telling Ye Jian this, he still wanted to hide the system. He didn’t have any idea if creating something like the system was hard or not, so it was a safe bet to hide it.
“Moves at a different rate than the outside world?! That’s only possible when you can use laws!” Ye Jian was once again shocked. During his life, he had only heard of accelerating time at an extremely small scale – in some cultivation rooms of the giant factions with people who had broken through to the realm above the Primordial Soul Realm. It was considered a privilege to enter those areas for a short period of time. To think that an entire planet was being accelerated like that…
“Wait, you’re telling me that you spent less than twenty years to become a Qi Foundation cultivator from a mortal?” Ye Jian was once again shocked. He had considered his cultivation speed fast when he managed to reach the 6th layer of Qi Gathering in less than eight years, and the monster before him said that he was a late Qi Foundation Realm cultivator with only twenty years of cultivation… Ye Jian felt his mind go numb.
“Yes, is that too long?” Meng Li asked innocently. His long cultivation sessions made him quite worried. Despite the fact that he was able to cultivate without stop at full efficiency for a long period of time, he was still practically sleeping for fifteen years straight…
“TOO LONG?!” Ye Jian shouted once again. Fortunately, Meng Li still didn’t dissipate the barrier, or the entire Qingshui Town would be informed of what Ye Jian thought of Meng Li’s cultivation.
“Yes, too long. Did I say something wrong?” Meng Li said innocently to Ye Jian. He sensed that he might’ve said something wrong… Was his cultivation speed actually fast?
“You… You…” Ye Jian couldn’t help but stutter a few times while pointing his finger at Meng Li. He nearly fell off the rock he was standing on into the cold stream.
“Is that speed actually fast?” Meng Li asked carefully.
“You… Yes.” Ye Jian looked like he was going to shout once again before seemingly deflating and answering Meng Li.
“That’s good. Now, let’s return to your plans for the future.” Meng Li tried to steer the topic of discussion to Ye Jian’s plans. Ye Jian, defeated, agreed.
“I… I wanted to join a sect to get cultivation supplies, but since you’re here, then you should be able to help, right?” Ye Jian looked at Meng Li, embarrassed. After all, he was asking a favour. Meng Li had no problem, and quickly replied.
“Sure, I can help with anything. Just tell me what you need. But still, do you want to stay here for the entire time?”
“No, I would prefer to go somewhere else. I… Really don’t know what to do, though. Is there any way you could send me out of this world? Since you’re the strongest here, and other people are all only at the peak of the Qi Sea Realm, and since this world was left to you by your master, who can use laws, there is probably some barrier preventing them from becoming stronger than you, right? I want to return to my former level of cultivation and beyond – I can feel that my talent is far better than what it was in my previous life.” Ye Jian asked Meng Li.
Meng Li was surprised by this question. He turned to the system for help.

[No.] This time, the system’s normally emotionless voice was cold, and Meng Li could sense that the answer was non-negotiable.</system,>
