Reincarnated As God - Chapter 4 A New World
“Finally…” Meng Li muttered while staring at the door which appeared just a moment ago. The door was normal. It didn’t have any redeeming qualities and if it was in any other context than the white room he was in, it would be completely average and uninteresting. However, right now, he was feeling quite anxious about what was outside of it. Would he appear in a cave in the middle of the wilderness? Would it be a random place, simply anywhere, under the earth or 50 km in the sky? Would he connect to a specific door somewhere in a city he didn’t know?
He had no idea. And that was why it was scary.
“Okay… So, where does this door lead?”
‘Okay, so I know several new things now. First, it can read my mind.’ Mend Li at least understood this from what he’d read on the wall. ‘Second, I’m in some way connected to this room. If I can leave it at will, then I guess I can enter here at will too? Nice, this is a pretty good space to cultivate after all, if you ignore the walls that is.’
Contemplating what he just learned, Meng Li sent a mental command in his consciousness ‘leave’. immediately, he felt something change. It was as if he was suddenly in zero gravity… The feeling of weightlessness rose, until it culminated with a white flash before his eyes. And suddenly. he was no longer in the white room. Instead, he was standing on solid ground. Despite the fact that the ground was completely flat and without any sign of any plant life as far as eye could see, Meng Li was still happy to see real earth. He sat down and decided to simply sit on the ground for a moment to appreciate the ground under his feet and think of what happened during the last few hours.
Despite the magic wall saying that he had been cultivating for over a year, it was still hard to accept. After all, for him, it felt like an hour at most… And in total, he felt like the time from when he woke up in the strange room until now was only about a day. He was still conflicted on what to do – despite not really liking what he had on earth, earth was the place he was raised, and he didn’t know any other. He still didn’t know what he wanted to do with his life, but such a drastic change without any time to prepare would stun anyone.
Meng Li liked to create things from a young age. Despite not really being talented in either drawing, painting or writing, he tried multiple times to express the many ideas that his brain had created. However, he simply couldn’t find the time or money to really dedicate himself to what he loved in society without any family who could help him in time of need, to encourage him and motivate him when he didn’t want to work. The more he thought about it, the more attractive cultivation seemed. After all, in practically all of the novels he had read, strength meant a higher place in society, which meant that he would be able to find means to express himself more easily. Hell, even cultivation itself could help him achieve things. With the many ideas he always had, a prominent part of them were always landscapes, and having qi at his disposal could help him create landscapes like he never could back on earth.
Thinking of this point, Meng Li waved his hand and released a strand of Qi from the sea in his Dantian. Because of his lack of experience, when the Qi hit the earth, it only managed to create an explosion and create a crater of about 3 meters in radius and half a meter deep. Still, even the fact that he managed to do so with just a wave of his hand proved his point. If he got even stronger, wouldn’t he be able to destroy mountains with a wave of his hand and create new ones with another wave? At this point, Meng Li allowed himself to sink into his dreams for a little while. While in the white room, despite kind of being used to it, he was still tense inside and didn’t allow his mind to simply wander…

When he came back to his senses, he decided to take a look around the space he was. But before that, he had to check something.
‘return’ He sent an order in his consciousness. He wanted to check whether he could return to the white room and treat it as a sort of resting space.
Soon, the familiar feeling of weightlessness came over him. In a few second, the white flash of light once again temporarily blinded him, but when he regained his sight, he could see that he was once again in the familiar white room. Once he knew that he could in fact leave and get back at will, he was much more relaxed inside.
‘let’s leave’ He once again sent an order. Soon, the teleportation process once again started and brought him out. He could tell that he was still in the same place since a few meters from him was the familiar crater.
“Okay, so let’s see where I am.” Meng Li said out loud while standing up. In order to negate the feeling of desolation in the white room, he started thinking out loud.
He randomly picked a direction and started running. As he started to move, he quickly realised that… He was not at all used to his newfound prowess. Without even using his Qi, his strength increased to a level where a casual hop which would previously bring him about half a meter forward launched him at least 2 meters into the air. He used about half an hour to get used to his new strength to a level where he could run without tripping over his feet every step, but he still didn’t run at his full speed because he knew he couldn’t yet control it.
After running for about half an hour, he still didn’t see anything. At that point, he could run two times faster than he could at the beginning because he gradually got used to his new strength. However, despite running such a large distance, the landscape didn’t change at all. There was still no sign of any life, plants or animals, the land was still completely flat and the only landmark, the small crater, had disappeared from view a long time ago. At this point, Meng Li was getting quite worried.
‘Did I arrive to a wasteland? Please don’t tell me I’m in some weird kind of desert…’ Meng Li thought absent-mindedly.
After running for another 3 hours, he still didn’t find anything. At this point, he finally felt his energy declining, he started sweating and his breath got a bit rushed. It seemed that no amount of cultivation could replace simple exercise when it came to muscle strengthening… His bad condition from earth was catching up to him. At this point, Meng Li decided to return to the white room and ask the magic wall a bit about where he was transported.
After the familiar teleportation flash, he immediately went and sat before the magic wall.
“I have a question. Where am I getting transferred when I leave this room?”
“Wait what?!” Meng Li couldn’t help but shout in surprise. The part of the magic wall’s response that managed to surprise him so much was the fact that it addressed the world he was transported into as ‘his’ world.
“How is the world I’m transferred into mine?” he couldn’t help but ask.
What he had just read was a lot for Meng Li to take in. First of all, he thought that he would only get to know why he was transported here when he reached Nascent Soul, so getting to know it so soon was a nice surprise. Secondly, he couldn’t really understand what creating a world had to do with getting stronger – in fact, those two things seemed so unrelated he did not have a slightest clue of where to start. Thirdly, he wondered what those ‘systems’ the wall mentioned were. After all, he found nothing – in the 3 and a half hours he spent running, there was no change in the environment, apart from a few pebbles mixed in with the soil.
As Meng Li wondered about the systems which the magic wall mentioned, he realised that something new had appeared within his consciousness. It was like a computer screen – with options to choose from. Right now, the screen looked like a catalogue of items, with a toolbar to the left of it and with a few other tabs on the top. The tab that was highlighted at the moment was a tab labelled ‘summoning’. The options on the left looked like an advanced search of some internet shop, with several options to choose from, like ‘animals’, ‘plants’, ‘items’, etc. There was also a filter with several settings. It looked like you could filter things from a specific world, things of a specific use, things you could summon with your qi, etc.
It was all complicated, and Meng Li decided to take a look at the other tabs before exploring the summoning tab further. At the moment, there was only one other tab which was not greyed out – it seemed like the others were not yet available. The tab was labelled ‘landscaping’. As he entered it, he could see what looked like a 3D projection on the right and some settings on the left. It looked like a 3D modelling program, and by how it was labelled, Meng Li guessed that it was used to change the landscape of the land. As he scanned through the 3D projection, he remembered something. The crater! ‘I wonder if I can see it from here…’ he thought.
To check, he started to zoom in on the middle of the map. As he zoomed in, details slowly started to appear. Or they would’ve, if the land wasn’t just… Flat. However, when Meng Li zoomed in enough, he started to see a speck. It was perfectly in the middle of the flat plane, and as he zoomed in further, it slowly revealed that it was, in fact the crater he made when testing his Qi.
‘So… it’s real?!’ he couldn’t help but become excited. After all, who wouldn’t want a world they could do anything with?
After seeing the crater, Meng Li focused instead on the left side of the screen. On it, he found something.
‘Yes! So I can really change it.’
What he found was an option to change his ‘spawn point’, or rather, ‘teleport point’ – in short, the location he would teleport to when he exited the white room. He quickly set the point to be near the crater at the centre of the plane. After which, he quickly left the white room and teleported into his new world.
As he appeared and the white flash of light subsided, he excitedly started to look around. Without much effort, he managed to spot the familiar crater just a few meters away from him.
“Yes! So it’s real!” Meng Li couldn’t help but shout happily.
