After delivering them tea and left them again to make the snack, I’m thinking what snack should serve for them. Since they don’t want to eat, at least I can make some snacks for them. I’m thinking a snack that can be easily made and not too long to cook that. My choice falls to a snack called meringues. It’s a simple yet sweet and delicious snack with the simple ingredient. What I need to make meringues is:
• 4 large organic egg whites, at room temperature
• 115g caster sugar
• 115g icing sugar
Cooking Method
1. Preheat the oven to fan 100C/ conventional 110C/gas 1⁄4. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper (meringue can stick on greaseproof paper and foil).
2. Tip the 4 large egg whites into a large clean mixing bowl (not plastic). Beat them on medium speed with an electric hand whisk until the mixture resembles a fluffy cloud and stands up in stiff peaks when the blades are lifted.
3. Now turn the speed up and start to add 115g caster sugar, a dessertspoonful at a time. Continue beating for 3-4 seconds between each addition. It’s important to add the sugar slowly at this stage as it helps prevent the meringue from weeping later. However, don’t over-beat. When ready, the mixture should be thick and glossy.
4. Sift one-third of the 115g icing sugar over the mixture, then gently fold it in with a big metal spoon or rubber spatula. Continue to sift and fold in the remaining icing sugar a third at a time. Again, don’t over-mix. The mixture should now look smooth and billowy, almost like a snow drift.
5. Scoop up a heaped dessertspoonful of the mixture. Using another dessertspoon, ease it on to the baking sheet to make an oval shape (pic 3). Or just drop them in rough rounds, if you prefer. Bake for 1 1⁄2-1 3⁄4 hours in a fan oven, 1 1⁄4 hours in a conventional or gas oven, until the meringues sound crisp when tapped underneath and is a pale coffee color. Leave to cool on the trays or a cooling rack. Serve two meringues sandwiched together with a generous dollop of softly whipped double cream.
This ingredient enough to make 16 servings and only take around 30 minutes for making it with an oven that can bake with the higher temperature around 200-250 degree Celcius.
After this meringue done, I deliver them to accompany the tea that I already served before. And I still must wait for a while before I can enter the guest room because they still talking about me and my ‘things’ size. Only after they no longer talk about it, I can barge in and serve the snack.

“We want to make food truck, so we can sell the food in many places”
“A Ming! That’s great! What your business name?” (A Lan)
“We decide to name it ‘Youming Delicious Food’, we also will make an account in Instagram, Youtube, and Facebook to promote it”
“We will be the follower and share it to our friends, just notify us when it’s done”
“Thank you sisters, and please have a taste of this snack, wifey, you should taste that too”
I’ll invite them to taste the snack that I just made, because they seem to hesitate to taste it, instead it’s me that they look to eat with their eyes. After I said that, they like being reminded and take the meringues to taste it.
“Hubby, what is this snack called, it’s crispy, sweet and creamy”
“It’s called meringues”
Ming Er looks enjoying to eat that snack, Ah, how sloppy she eat that, there’s some cream left in the corner of her mouth. Maybe I should put fewer creams in this meringues.
“Wifey, there are some creams in your lips”
I wipe the cream in her mouth with my fingers and put my finger to my mouth to taste the cream. My action makes her a bit blushing. But when I look at Ming Er’s friends…..
Hey, why you all also start to eat those meringues sloppily? There’s cream all over your mouth, you know?
“Hubby, can you get tissue box in the dining room? And make fewer creams when you make this meringue again”
“Ah yes, I understand. I’ll get that tissue box right away”
So I leave the guest room again to get the tissue box. After I left, Ming Er stare at her friends fiercely
“Girls, what’s your aim by eating sloppily like that?”
“Ahaha, I thought your husband will also wipe this cream from my mouth with his finger” (A Mei)
“Um, I also thought that too. Alas, you send him away” (A Lan)
“Seeing sis Ming looks happy when he uses his finger on you make me want to know how it feels when his finger on my lips” (A Yun)
” ….. ” (Ming Er speechless)
Fortunately, I return with tissue box in my hands not long after I left, and they wipe the creams in their mouth with that tissue paper. I also sit beside Ming Er to accompany her talking with her friends. But this time, she use provocative gestures to show to her friends that I’m is hers by the act like hug my waist, rubs my thigh, holding my hands, or lean her head in my arms like want to tell her friends ‘He’s mine, don’t ever dare to touch him’.
Well, actually that’s not necessary because in my eyes, Ming Er still the prettiest between those four even without makeups. A Yun in the second because she’s not wearing too many makeups like A Mei and A Lan, which make her looks natural. A Lan in the third place maybe because she hasn’t pregnant and still able to maintain her body shape. Only her gloomy face makes her a little losing her charm. A Mei is the last place because after she had a child maybe she doesn’t have much time to take care of her body, beside her makeups is a bit excessive because she now lives in the city.
We’re still talking about many things until they said goodbye because the day is almost dusk. They promised to help us promoting our food business with their friend too, that’s another good thing that they bring in their visit today.
