Reincarnated Chef: Rise Of Culinary Tycoon - 58 Vegetables Tempura
Besides the two dishes which I already cook before, I also add one more dish to my brother in law to carry when he returns later. Since we have a lot of vegetables, I decide to make a vegan dish today. This time I want to try something that not from China cuisine, my choice go for a dish from Japan, vegetables tempura. It’s the same with tempura which using fish or other seafood, I just replace the filling with vegetables. Because the vegetables are ready, all I need to do is preparing the batter for tempura.
For the tempura batter (8-10 servings), I mix 100 g plain flour, a bit salt, and 2 tablespoon potato starch together. After those ingredient mixed, I separated from the rest. Then I crack the egg into the bowl and beat the egg roughly until the white of egg and yolk mixed after that I add one cup water into the egg bowl and stir the mixture until they mixed evenly. Then I put one-third of the mixed flour into egg mixture and stir it gently using a fork. After all mix together, I add another one-third mixed flour again and stir until mixed with egg mixture. When it already mixed together, I add the last one-third mixed flour and mixed it again until between egg and flour all mixed together.
For the vegetables, I use mix sliced vegetables (zucchini, onions, eggplants, carrots, bell peppers, sweet potatoes, string beans, broccoli, wild mushrooms, fresh herbs, and bok choy). After all prepared, I start to cook them.
Deep fry vegetables in a wok or deep fat fryer until the batter is light golden in color and crisp. Turn the vegetables at intervals to ensure that both sides are cooked equally and then fish them out with a slotted spoon, shaking off any excess oil.
After putting all the dishes that I already cook in the food container, my cooking work is over. I take the leftover tempura on the plate and bring it to the table where Ming Er and A Yun still talking
“Ladies, this is another dish I just make, please have a taste”
“Hubby, what is this?”
“It’s vegetable tempura”
“Um, look delicious. Hubby, come to sit with us. I can’t make my hubby left alone when I’m with my friend”
I take a seat and sit beside Ming Er. Just when I put my butt on the chair, Ming Er already grabs my arm and show her intimacy in front of her friend. Well, she seems to like to show off her husband in front of her friend.
“Sister Yun, don’t just look, please take a bite of this tempura”
I offer A Yun to taste the tempura since she looks a bit hesitate with I’m around Ming Er. Before A Yun takes a bite, Ming Er already uses her fork to pick one piece of tempura and put it on her mouth. Did she jealous because I offer her friend first?
“Hubby….this is good, so crispy in my mouth”
After hearing what Ming Er said, A Yun also immediately take one piece of tempura and bite it.
“Um…true, brother You, this is good. If you sell this to the vegetarian people, this going to be hot sales”
“Really? I’ll think about that”
After that the conversation no longer stiff and flow smoothly until my brother in law return from buying cooking equipment. When he enters the restaurant I offer him to stay a while and have something to eat or drink first.
“Brother He, would you like something to eat or drink first?”
“Ah, sorry brother You, I must get that truck to modification workshop so they can start changing the truck into the food truck and install the equipment. I just pick up A Yun and back to the village after that”
“I see. Then please bring this food that I already cook for father and mother”
“Wow, this much?”
I give brother He a lot of food container. He seems surprised when knowing the amount.
“I also cook for A Yun and her parent too”
“For me too? Thanks, brother You”
A Yun looks happy when I also give her some of my cooking. After putting those foods into the truck, my brother in law and A Yun bid goodbye to us and enter the truck to going back to the village. I and Ming Er watch the truck until they no longer in our sight and then we return to our house.
