- Volume 1 Chapter 26 The Advent Of Wraitheon
(Day 46)
Isaac awakened feeling even more refreshed than usual. Finally being able to let his teammates know about all his secrets, actually took a substantial weight off his shoulders, as he would no longer have to constantly monitor his words and behaviors around them. It might have happened a bit earlier than he would have liked but what’s done is done and there was no reason not to simply let it be.
Just before his teammates had departed from their secret conference, he told them, that since most of the dangerous stuff was out of the way for now, he wanted to spend plenty of time training to make sure they were all ready, before entering the Vault of Glass. He also advised them not to make any expensive purchases, because he had bought some gifts for them.
After his wonderfully refreshing sleep, Isaac followed his normal routine and headed once more for the Void Energy Meditation Chamber. He spent the next full week getting all of his attunements to level five.
Once that was completed, he spent four whole days studying death and the psuedo-deathstate that Guardians entered before resurrection by killing himself repeatedly. He then spent another two days doing much the same while also putting together a theory of death. He suspected that, in order to obtain the Sunsinger Subclass, he would have to submit yet another research paper and so decided to preempt such a request.
On the seventh day, he sought out Ikora and requested that she teach him the Sunsinger Subclass.
“Of course, Isaac. I’d be glad to. Before we start however…” Ikora trailed off as her ghost mimic organ received a transfer of data. She reviewed the research that he had presented her and then looked back at Isaac, with a smile.
“Very well done, Isaac. I see that you thought ahead this time. In that case, come with me and we’ll get started.”
Isaac trained with Ikora for the rest of the day. Watching her perform abilities, then attempting them himself, and trying to implement the knowledge he’d gained from his research.
Three days after he had begun his Sunsinger training, he was quite proficient in all its aspects and ready to begin building his Light Organs.
All of his available Light Organs were completed, after four days of nearly continuous work. With his Light Organs taken care of, he was now set on expanding his LAMP technique and perfecting his marksmanship.
It took him a full eight days to integrate Wing Chung, Jujitsu, Judo, Aikido, and Koren’s EAT into his LAMP. Once he had accomplished this, he visited Banshee to pick up all of his Exotic Gear. He then took his teammates out to dinner on him, where he presented them all with their Exotic Weapons. They were all overjoyed at receiving such wonderful gifts and ensured Isaac that they would work hard to be worthy of them.
During this dinner, he also learned that everyone had passed their primary class training and that at least one task, usually one of the last two, is intentionally made to be impossible to accomplish. Due to the unique circ.u.mstances surrounding his passing, neither he nor Ikora brought up the subject of his final training, during their last encounter.
As the crew were discussing their new weapons and their latest training, Laurel asked Quamesh what she thought of her Trinity Ghoul. After having heard Laurel’s ghost respond to her question, Polter couldn’t take it anymore.
“Whoa, whoa, whoa, wait a minute,You named your ghost?! When did this happen?”
“Of course, I did. You have a name, why shouldn’t Quamesh? As for when it happened, it was the same day as our last mission right after we got back from the Fallen Stronghold. We all went out to eat together and ended up naming all of our ghosts, after realizing Daniel had named his during his mission on Venus.”
“Then what are your names?” Polter asked the other ghosts.
“I’m Vixtnias.” Koren’s ghost responded.
“Amperion.”
“Celsia.”
“OneShot, here.”
‘What the…they all have cool sounding names. Why do I have to be the only one with a lame name? Dammit!’ Thought Polter.
“Oh, well, congratulations on your cool sounding names. I’m so glad everyone but me has a cool sounding name.” Polter said, with a hinting inflection as he stared at Isaac.
Isaac sighed deeply and said, “Alright, I get it. I get it. Do you want me to give you a different name?”
“Haha, yes, I’d like that very much! Also, it’s about time.”
“Just so you know, I’m not going to go around renaming you every time you decide you don’t like your name, so this is the last time. That being said, how does Wraitheon grab ya?” (Little known not-a-fact, it’s also the name of Eevee’s ghost type evolution)
“Haha, now that’s a name worthy of the ghost of the only Guardian from another universe. From now on, I shall be known as Wraitheon.”
‘Good grief, what’s gotten into this guy? I think I might’ve broken him whenever I showed him all the events from my past. He really hasn’t been the same since.’ Isaac pondered.
Despite the others staring at this scene in amused bewilderment, they soon congratulated Pol…Wraitheon on his new name and moved on to other topics.
The day after their dinner, Isaac started off his next bout of training with marksmanship practice and, after three days of rootin tootin shootin, he then spent a whole week on body strengthening exercises and sharpening his reflexes.

(Day 88)
Isaac found that, after constructing his Light Organs, his attunement to the Light increased at a faster pace. Despite not having spent much time at the Light Fortress, the process of constructing the Light Organs was educational in and of itself. At this moment, he was level twenty nine and hoped he would break through to thirty by the time they finished their group training.
Isaac finished up his morning routine and then made his way over to the hangar. His teammates were already there waiting for him and so he greeted them all and then ushered them into their sh.i.p.s.
They headed to the moon, seeing as how it held the most eminent threat, after the Vault of Glass. They descended once more into the Summoning Pits and went from room to room clearing out each one sometimes as a six man team, sometimes in three man teams, and sometimes individually.
The six of them spent an entire week training their teamwork and learning from each other, by clearing out the seemingly endless rooms of Hive in the Summoning Pits.
After completing their teamwork training, they scouted out six different Fallen Strongholds and spent the eighth day cleaning out those strongholds one to a man.
On the evening of that eighth day, they returned with their sh.i.p.s full of loot and their ghosts full of Glimmer. After spending all of the next day meditating inside the Light Fortress, they went out together for a glorious celebratory dinner and then turned in early, in preparation for the next day’s mission.

(Day 98)
Now that Isaac’s teammates were aware of his situation, he didn’t have to worry about disguising his knowledge and could simply send their ghosts the full footage from his memories.
Once they all had reviewed the footage and knew what to expect, Isaac led them into the Waking Ruins on Venus, where they all immediately took up their positions and began securing the three spire forming plates.
With all of them having just finished more than a months worth of training as well as having completed their primary class training, the Vex attempting to force them off of the plates were utterly destroyed and the spire was formed quickly and without much effort.
Isaac had just broken through to level thirty yesterday. Ferra had reached level twenty-six and Bravo got to twenty five. Daniel was at twenty four and Koren and Laurel were at twenty three. Despite the fact that their ghosts had to actively hack the spire formation plates in order for it to form, the entire team was confident in their ability to handle whatever the vault might throw at them, even if it was something they didn’t see coming.
Once the spire was formed and the door to the vault was opened, the six of them strode forward into the dark and labyrinthine Vex stronghold. As with the Hive tunnels on the moon, the Vex had hundreds of passageways, side trails, and chasms here. Using the guidance of their ghosts and Isaac’s memories, they eventually made their way into the Templar’s Well.
While standing on the precipice overlooking their future battlefield, Isaac’s fireteam went over their plans for the coming battle one more time, before jumping down onto the platform below and taking up their positions. Ferra and Daniel took up the right side, Bravo and Laurel took up the left side, Koren locked down the middle, and Isaac stayed back on top of the precipice. They could all see the glowing circle in the middle of the lower platform emitting an aura of Light. Suspecting that this was the wound that Kabir had torn in the Vault, Isaac quietly paid his respects and swore that Kabir’s sacrifice would not be in vain.
Much like the previous challenge, the Vex here, despite being noticeably sturdier than the ones outside, were simply no match for these six Guardians. Goblins, Hobgoblins, Fanatics, Harpies, Minitouars they all fell beneath the might of Isaac’s fireteam, without even a chance to touch the targeted confluxes. Before long, the first three waves of Vex had been obliterated and the Oracles were now playing their fateful song.
The Oracles, unlike the in game versions, could only be damaged by elemental attacks as they soon discovered that kinetic attacks would simply pass right through them. This was a minor inconvenience, however, and they quickly took note this discrepancy and dispatched all the Oracles and the Templar’s legions in due course. Isaac, seeing that the Oracles had all been defeated, jumped down to join his teammates.
The Templar, clearly flummoxed by his previous failures to exterminate these invaders, decided it was time to get a bit more aggressive with these interlopers. The Templar continued to summon more Vex to his side, as he teleported into the middle of the platform.
At this moment, Isaac looked towards the Light Aura emitting circle and saw the Aegis. He immediately flew towards it, snatched it up, and began waylaying Harpies. The Templar was now rapidly firing its Aeon Maul, keeping Isaac’s fireteam on their toes. The others jumped, dodged, and glided their way around the Templar’s attacks, in order to keep its attention so that Isaac would have the time he needed to do.
Isaac had a theory about how the Aegis worked and his suspicion only increased when he realized that he couldn’t use any of the Aegis’s abilities right off the bat. As he went around slaying Harpies and other Vex, through his connection with the Aegis he could sense it acc.u.mulating power. It wasn’t only drawing Light from his defeated foes but its power was constantly increasing on its own, which confirmed for Isaac that it was connected with some outside Light source.
As soon as he sensed the Aegis was fully charged, he sent a signal to his teammates and unleashed a big fat Light Bomb that instantly destroyed the Templar’s shield. Everyone immediately began firing their Element Augmented Rocket Launchers directly at the Templar’s eye, while Wraitheon made his way over to the backside of the Templar and began scanning it.
Isaac saw the white pillar of Vex energy that signaled the Templar’s teleport location, just as the first volley of rockets hit their mark. Isaac jumped in the middle of the teleportation ring and used the Aegis to create a Light shield blocking the Templar’s fire, which was now all focused on him.
Two seconds later, the Light Shield ran out of energy and Isaac evaded as many of the Templar’s attacks as possible, while within that confined space, for another second. After those three seconds, the Templar’s teleport had been successfully prevented and Isaac resumed his Vex slaying, until the next teleport ring appeared. Isaac’s teammates continued firing constantly at the Templar, as Isaac held its attention and prevented its teleport.
At the third teleport attempt, Ferra unleashed a Void Scatter Bomb, while the others all fired Kinetic Fusion Golden Gun shots at the Templar. The Golden Gun shots were almost simultaneous and caused the Templar’s entire body to convulse upon impact. The Templar’s core began to destabilize, as the damage it had taken was too great. Less than two seconds after the volley of Golden Gun fire, the Templar exploded into a rain of scrap metal.
“So, Wraitheon, how much information were you able to get?” Isaac asked.
“Pretty much, everything. There was clearly some information that the other Vex, connected to the hivemind, were trying to conceal but I got everything that concerns the Templar’s makeup and technology, including the data on its Aeon Maul.”
“Noice! In that case, let’s not dilly dally. We’ve got Gorgons to slay.”
After snatching up all the loot in the area, the six Guardians made their way downward into the Gorgon’s Lair.
As the Guardians entered the Gorgon’s Lair, they made it a point to stay on as high ground as possible, using the scattered outcroppings of rocks. They made their way around the entire area scouting the Gorgon’s numbers. There were nine Gorgons in total and Isaac decided that, since it was possible that each Gorgon would grow stronger when one was destroyed, he would use the first one for spare parts.
Isaac and his team located an easy mark among the Gorgons. He then gave them their orders and they all dashed invisibly towards the Gorgon. Bravo, Ferra, and Isaac each grabbed one of the Gorgon’s angular protrusions, from the inside, and began pulling the protrusions in separate directions with all of their strength. Isaac blinked behind the Gorgon and Landed a double powered FOMA right into the Gorgon’s back, causing the protrusions to be bent backwards as its eye was now exposed to Koren’s massive strength.
Of course, the Gorgon had released its powerful gaze at the moment that they had first appeared but they were prepared for this and shrugged off the oppressive aura that it emitted. Once Koren had his Ward of Destruction clad hands around the Gorgon’s eye, he pulled with all his might, as Isaac let loose another FOMA into its back. Less than three seconds after the Gorgon spotted them, Isaac landed his second FOMA and the Gorgon was ripped apart by the team’s combined power.
The Gorgon’s parts were mostly undamaged and so Wraitheon, who was analyzing the Gorgon while the others fought, placed them all inside his inventory. With eight more Gorgons to go, Isaac decided the best course of action would be to eliminate two more in the same manner and then they would synchronize their attacks, in order to take out all of the other six at once.
The team took out the next Gorgon with little more difficulty than the first. Although it took them a full three seconds to deal with the third, it wasn’t something they were worried about. On the next six Gorgons they would be going all out and wouldn’t hesitate to obliterate every last scrap.
Once they each had their own Gorgon target, they kept their ghost’s communication channel open to coordinate their efforts. After scattering to their individual Gorgon’s locations, they watched their prey intently, until the perfect opportunity presented itself. Each of them uned Vanish, fired a Shadowshot at their respective Gorgons, and then summoned a new fusion ability. The Arc Rail Drill Spear. Summoning a Kinetic Drill Spear and then fusing it with the power of an Arc Rail Spear, they unleashed its destructive power directly into each Gorgon’s eye. The Gorgon’s, despite being stronger than the other three, were run completely through and utterly annihilated falling into pieces, within two seconds of having ever known someone was in front of them.
Having made short and gloriously destructive work of the infamous Gorgons, Isaac led his team across a joke of a “jumping puzzle” that they all couldn’t help but laugh at, considering their abilities. Once on the other side of the chasm, they all gathered in a hallway with a glowing triangular door at the far end. They took their time preparing themselves for what was ahead, by reviewing Isaac’s memories and discuss their strategies and contingencies.
Once they were certain that they were as ready as they could be, they approached door with their weapons at the ready.
