- Chapter 28 Eidolon Story Shor
Before the Operator’s first bout with extreme fatigue, he tasked me with constructing Void Cells around the area where the captured Orokin Towers are, in order to hold the Eidolons. Being inside the Void itself, the Void Cells, which run on dark energy, can maintain peak efficiency indefinitely. I also completed construction of a specialized Arch-Frame, with an oversized Void Reactor. The Operator stated that this was essential for ensuring a successful capture on the first attempt.
After dropping off the Amp parts, he obtained from Cetus, he ordered me to deconstruct and analyze them in hopes of eventually building even better ones. I had hoped to be able to accomplish this, before the Operator’s confrontation with the Eidolons, but there was very little time. As the Operator’s first Cephalon, I feel compelled to ensure that the other’s accomplishments do not outshine my own.
As the Cephalon in charge of making all of our available technologies more powerful and efficient, as well as innovating new technologies, I’ve spent countless hours contemplating how to accomplish this. Of course, I’ve already made some headway in this field but there’s so much more to do. While speaking with the other Cephalons, in the Pseudo-datascape, it occurred to me that perhaps I’ve been thinking about this whole innovation, efficiency, and power research all wrong. ‘Yes, I think I’ve stumbled upon an answer to these problems that might just send the Operator into another fit of joy. I can’t wait to share it with him, but now’s not the time. The Eidolons come first. Let’s see how these Scraps of Sentient Scum will handle the Operator’s new found strength.’
———-POV Change———-
‘Good! Now that the Reservoir is safely back in the Void and the cloaking tower is reactivated, the Tenno can begin their first unified campaign. The Sol-Our System Campaign will bring these filthy Grineer scum to heel or exterminate them. The choice is theirs to make. As for me, I hope they choose the second option.’
Although the Operator is on Earth at the moment, he’s in the plains and the Grineer haven’t dared to set foot there, ever since the Operator wiped the floor with them. So, as the first operation in this campaign, the conditions to begin Operation Motherland are now satisfied.
Here in Earth’s Orbit, I’ve already scanned the planet and located all remaining Grineer outposts. I’ve positioned a hundred specially modified Arch-Rhinos outside The Federal Tau-er, each with their own coordinates to target. There are ten, recently built, drop ships with ten Arch-Rhinos surrounding each.
During the past month I’ve been working on a set of personalized weapons for myself. I decided that the Might Light design was an excellent one and created a modified design for Nyx frames, the Psych Light. Like the Might Light, it’s constructed, with Nyx cells as a centerpiece, and then augmented with weapon parts. It allows me to utilize the psionic energy battery to create a sword like projection of my Absorb ability. Of course, it also possesses the same whip like functionality as the Might Light. I created a modified Boltor, the Oracle, that allows me to mark targets and infuses all available ammunition, with my psychic energy, allowing them to aggressively seek out marked targets. For a Secondary I took inspiration from both the Synoid Simulor and Gamacor. I crafted a wrist mounted Secondary, the Quasar, that fires gravity orbs instead of a beam. The orbs, however, can be augmented with my Absorb ability allowing them to attract incoming projectiles and then send them back, via an explosion, when the orb expires. Additionally, I decided that any good General needs at least two swords and crafted a Skana style blade one and a half times longer than the original, the OverMind, that I can channel my Psychic Bolts into. This allows me to use this ability, in the same manner as Excalibur’s Exalted Blade. At this point, I don’t think I could be more ready for this mission.
I walk over to the control deck’s weapons control interface and point our front laser cannons in the direction of the Grineer’s primary base. I charge them both up to maximum power and fire. As soon as the shots have been released, the Tenno, waiting around the dropships, simultaneously begin the Orbital Rhino Bombardment. As soon as they enter the Mesosphere, the dropships follow after them.
Having confirmed the successful initiation of our operation, I quickly run through my Orbiter, enter my Landing Craft, and make my way towards the primary base. Of course, I could’ve directed a Rhino or two towards the base but then I wouldn’t get to have any fun.
I deploy directly into my Arch-Frame outside the base’s perimeter. I unleash my Specter Force in their Arch-Frames, while flying towards the base. There seems to be at least three hundred Grineer stationed here. I slow down just before reaching the troops closest to us. I let my Specter Force engage the enemy first, while I fly around keeping Chaos active for them and firing my Quasar. After an initial engagement with our Arch-Frames, we’ve killed close to a hundred. My Specter Force then unequips their Arch-Frames and engages the enemy on land, while I maintain Chaos and fire Psychic Bolt waves with my OverMind.
After about a hundred more kills, I fly into the middle of the Grineer forces, unequip my Arch-Frame, and activate Absorb. At this time, I’m quite proficient with my Nyx’s abilities and I can move around while Absorb is active, albeit slowly. I pull out my Psych Light and utilize its whip function, to eliminate the Grineer on the edge of my Absorb barrier. With me in the middle and my Specter Force having spread out to surround them, their numbers begin decreasing rapidly. When less than fifty are left, I release Absorb and the rest are immediately eliminated.
My Specter Force regroups on me and we enter the base proper. We slaughter our way through each floor with ease, until we reach the top. As soon as we enter the only room, which is quite large, on the top floor, we begin making our way around the various consoles and machinery that fill the place. After passing several large machinery enclosures, I see a window with several consoles under it and three large Grineer standing there watching us approach. The largest one in the middle has his hands behind his back and begins speaking. I’m actually a fan of the Operator’s take on these kinds of situations. “They may have come here to talk but I came here to kill them. They can talk if they want but I’m still going to kill them.” I grasp the hilt of my OverMind and pour all of my energy into it. I then sling my most powerful horizontal Psychic Bolt Wave directly towards them. The wave slices the Grineer clean in half and leaves the window even wider than it was before. ‘These Grineer chose the wrong time, to get in touch with their diplomatic side.’
Quite satisfied with my performance, me and my Specter Force jump out the window, reequip our Arch-Frames, and blast off back to the Orbiter.
Upon our approach towards the Orbiter, I can see that everyone else has already returned. I board the Orbiter and contact my troops to get a SitRep. ‘Hah, just as I suspected. The Tenno are too much for these mild mannered Grineer. Not a single loss. I’m certain the Operator will be pleased with this news but he’s busy right now.’ I immediately contact Ordis and convey the news of our victory.
———-POV Change———-
Here on the plains, I’m making my way towards, where Ordis indicated, is the most likely place for the Eidolons to appear. I’ve got my modified Arch-Frame equipped, which will allow me to make use of the dark energy in its Void Reactor to maintain my beam for a longer duration. I’ve also got about twelve fully charged Lures at the ready. These Lures are optimized and modified versions that hold the Eidolon in place while transmating it to the Void Cells.
The past couple weeks I’ve been working on a move that will help me bring down these Eidolons, with ease. After realizing that my Operator Mode was really just condensed and controlled dark energy, I figured that it probably wasn’t necessary to manifest an entire projection of my body. If I could sufficiently control a portion of the energy used to manipulate the frame and turn it into just a forearm, I could utilize my Void Beam without ever leaving my frame. Of course, when I first tried that it became almost impossible to control my frame at all. Even the hand that I had extended to test this out fell back down to my side. As it turns out, the distribution of dark energy throughout the frame needs to be in a constant state of equilibrium in order for Transference to work properly. I’m sure that information will be most useful when I start trying to control Transference, without the aid of the Somatic Link Pod. Eventually, I figured it out and I can now successfully manifest a forearm by itself to utilize my Void Beam. Of course, this also allows me to utilize my other Operator Mode abilities while still in my frame.
I can see the Teralyst coming out of the lake, as I approach its location. Once I’m within range, I begin circling around its head while firing my Void Beam. It clearly doesn’t like this and begins sending out omnidirectional waves of energy. I enter Void Mode to avoid taking damage from them. I continue to use Void Mode to avoid his attacks and then blast him with my Void Beam, once the time is right. After about fifteen minutes of Void Beaming the Teralyst stumbles and is clearly vulnerable. I then take out a little doozy called the Eidolon Fucker. I mean really it’s just the enlarged more potent Arch-Frame version of the Opticor but what reasons are there really to not call it the Eidolon Fucker? None, of course. So I pull out my Eidolon Fucker aim it squarely at the, soon to be fucked, Eidolon’s right arm vents. As soon as it’s done charging, I unleash all of its Eidolon fucking fury and…yep, one shot one kill. Well one limb kill, anyways.
Nyx and her crew have recently been busy trapping all of those irritating little Vomvalysts, of which their were a couple thousand, and several were, of course, sacrificed to charge my Lures. So without their annoying interruptions, I can focus solely on the Teralyst. I continue my assault, by taking out each limb and finally stunning him with some well placed shots into the weak spot protruding from his neck. Once the Teralyst is stunned, my Lures get to work, with Ordis’ assistance, transmating the weakened Eidolon to the Void Cells.
Now that I know that I can handle these guys and capture them, within a reasonable amount of time, I continue my hunt for the other Eidolons. Ordis directs me to the most likely location of another appearance and, much like the last time, I can see the Gantulyst arising before I get there. I began using the same strategy, as before, and managed to bring it down in a little less than three hours. The Teralyst only took me about an hour and I suspect the Hydrolyst will take even longer.
After reaching the Hydrolyst and battling it out until nearly dawn, my Lures move in for the transmat. A few minutes later as the transmat finishes, I can see the sun coming up over the horizon. ‘And a new day dawns, for the people of Cetus.’ I don’t know if there are any more Eidolons left but the scans that Ordis has been running seem to suggest that it’s just the three. I’ll return tomorrow night just to make sure but either way, after tonight, the people of Cetus should be able to rest easy knowing that Eidolons aren’t knocking at their door every night.
With the Eidolons taken care of, the Earth should be completely under Tenno control, with the obvious exception of the Unum, but she’s an ally so she doesn’t count. If Nyx and her troops were successful here, which I’m sure they were, they should be heading to Saturn next. As for me, I’ll need to update the Quills, do a little fishing, and then head back to the Orbiter.
Back aboard the Orbiter, I run through my training routine a couple of times, snatch up some Subsidies, and hit the sack.

for visiting.
‘This isn’t supposed to be happening. It shouldn’t be happening. How could I, Hunhow, be brought low by these pathetic Tenno devils? At every step of the way, those blasted Warframes were there interfering with all of my plans. It’s almost like they knew what I was up to. That shouldn’t be possible. That time with the Stalker though? As soon as he left they descended upon me with some unknown power and stole away all of my minions and then the last one just showed up randomly through a portal and snatches up the Stalker and throws him through one portal and my sword through another. As unbelievable as it seems, they must have known somehow. Otherwise, it just doesn’t make any sense.
‘That sword had a significant amount of my power in it and its loss is severely hindering my efforts to escape this infernal seabed. I would make more minions but I have no idea whether they would find out or not. If they did, even if I knew they were coming, I’d still be powerless to stop them from just taking them all as test subjects or whatever they’re doing with them. Dammit! This is so infuriating. They had better hope I never make it out of this mess or…
Silence.
‘What the…? This…no Goddamnit not this again.’ It’s this distortion again almost like another dimension with no sound, everything outside appears as if a shadow, like I’m locked away from the rest of the world. I can still see everything around me but not clearly. Slowly, I sense my surroundings begin to change. I’m being lifted up off of the sea floor. ‘What, this can’t be those damned devil’s. Are they trying to free me? No. They would never do that. It must be them they’re the only ones to wield this power…’
The one who cast this damnable ability is being pulled in by a tractor beam, while holding this prison in place. The ship wielding the tractor beam takes off, towards some unknown destination. ‘Hahahahaha…I see, so they think they can experiment on me like they do with the others. Well, they’ll soon realize the error of their ways. I might have been trapped down there for ages, without their interference. These blundering fools have just handed me the keys to my revenge. Whatever they have planned, whether be experiments or some ill conceived prison, as soon as they release this detestable ability, I’ll teach them a well deserved lesson for meddling in my affairs.’
After what I assume is about two hours of flight time, the blurred shadowy scene I’ve been watching this entire time begins to change. I can’t tell exactly what we’re approaching but it looks…flat…like a wall…in space?…wait…no…no, no, no, no…
*with a French accent* A few moments later…
‘FUCK! These insufferable devils! Do they plan to keep me locked away in this place forever? In some damnable device that maintains this distortion, floating in the middle of Void Space? Dammit! I’ll make them pay. I swear I’ll make them pay if it’s the last thing I do.’
