- Reincarnating Into A Fantasy World As An Autonomous Machine Arsenal
- Chapter 24 Log 024
Somnus was about to glare at Emily for even suggesting something so stupid as to create a new body. It took a whole planet’s worth of resources to build a single Autonomous Machine Arsenal. Somnus never truly saw the sorry excuse of what the races inhabiting this world called industrial capacity, but he was pretty sure that with their technological level, it would take at least a hundred planets and a few centuries.
It was absurd.
But then he realized something. It was very obvious. In fact, he was holding it in his hand.
Somnus looked down at the broken piece of crystal and all the fortification spells cast upon it. Technologically, he could not recreate Delta and Theta superalloy; but magically?
From what Somnus understood, the spell itself was not limited to how many fortifications he could put on a material, but there surely had to be a limit somewhere. When he was casting the Telepathy spell, he felt quite a bit of resistance, as if he was trying to cram a large object inside a smaller object. Was that it? Did spell circles and materials have an innate “Capacity” property?
“You do realize this is the Arrod Dungeon, don’t you?” Arcadia suddenly asked.
No one had noticed that the Priestess had finally returned to her senses, although she still looked haggard and weakened.
Somnus looked away from the Dungeon Core fragment and focused on Arcadia.
“This is where Heptia was born,” Arcadia said. “This is holy grounds.”
A strand of black hair fell over Arcadia’s eyes. It looked like she was about to fall over, but Emily helped support her before that could even happen.
“What’s your point? I killed Heptia. It is not holy grounds anymore,” Somnus replied coldly.
“You don’t get it,” Arcadia said. “Why did we appear here? Why did your body disappear? Why are you human?”
Somnus tilted his head. “The Gods want to go to war with me, obviously. They think taking away my body will allow them to win. They are wrong.”
Arcadia shook her head. “No. You killed Heptia. So you took her place.”
While this discussion was going on, the monsters in the back of the chamber were looking more and more terrified. At first, they thought the name “Heptia” was just a coincidence. When they realized that it wasn’t a coincidence, and they were talking about the Goddess, they were just about ready to kill themselves to avoid the terrible destiny that no doubt awaited them soon. They could not flee. They would not even dare to try.
“I don’t understand or care,” Somnus said. “If you know how I can retrieve my body or create a new one, I order you to share information. Comply.”
Arcadia sighed. “I don’t know what happened to your body, but that Dungeon Core can perform a True Divination. You should force it to give you one, then, maybe, you will understand.”
Neither Somnus nor Emily noticed it, but the Dungeon Core and the monsters thought that Arcadia was quite ruthless when she suggested they force the Dungeon Core into performing a True Divination.
Somnus glanced to the Dungeon Core with a sadistic light in his eyes. Before he could even open his mouth to speak, the Dungeon Core was already replying.
< I’ll do it! >
Somnus nodded, perhaps slightly disappointed that it was this easy.
< First, I have to do a Divination, before I can do the other one. Is that acceptable master? >
Somnus closed his eyes and nodded. He noticed the Dungeon Core trying to score points by calling him master, but he let it slide for now. After all, they did not sign or agree to an employment contract yet.
Golden magical circles appeared in the air before Somnus and he half-opened one eye to make sure that they weren’t attack spells. The symbols he saw were quite confusing and they channeled a different type of mana. If Somnus had to describe the type, he’d have to call it “Divine” or “Heavenly”.
< Divination! >

The moment the spell was complete, everyone in the room knew the results. Was it a result of the Telepathy spell? Could the Dungeon Core not hide its conscious thoughts?
Somnus did not have time to wonder about the specifics when Emily called out, “Level 1 and his Mana Capacity is that high!?”
Arcadia, on the other hand, was shaking her head. “They made him a Hero I cannot believe this. There has not been a Hero in a thousand years, and they made him a Hero”
The monsters wore their hearts on their sleeve. Somnus’ attributes, at level 1, were also absurd. He was the incarnation of cheat. It just wasn’t fair. Most of them had attributes at the D rank.
However, none of them were surprised that the Spiritual Attribute, which was most closely related to Faith, was at the lowest possible rank. He did slay a God after all. It was literally in his Title.
< Now then for the True Divination > Somehow, the thoughts the Dungeon Core transmitted sounded insecure and defeated.
“Carry on,” Somnus said, crossing his arms. He had no clue why Arcadia said he should do this. Those ranks and numbers didn’t mean anything to him. The only usable information he received was the fact that his mana was quite depleted after casting just one spell. He missed having fusion reactors.
Once more, spell circles appeared, but this time they were much larger and they remained in the air for much longer. Once more, Somnus studied the circles and he could understand why the spell took so long. The mana flowing through the large number of symbols required time to reach its destination. Not even Somnus could track the sheer number of symbols in those magic circle.
From what he deduced, a majority of the spell circles were about gathering the required mana and changing its type. Finally, the largest circle was the one which did the actual [True Divination]. Somnus could certainly not recreate such a spell from memory, but looking at it he thought he could at least optimize it, if he had to cast it.
< True Divination! > The spell formation shimmered and then cast a bright light.

There was a stunned silence in the chamber. No one here had ever seen someone with A rank attributes and above; so when they saw how high the SS rank attribute went, they all felt incompetent and weak in comparison.
But the true nature of their horror were the skills. Magic Eyes? Spell Destruction? Was this the domain of Hero class entities? Noit had to be more than that.
Furthermore, Somnus did not appear to have any combat skills. Magic Power and Magic Capacity were the most basic skills. Magic Comprehension was rare, but possible; such geniuses would go on to revolutionize the world of magic whenever they appeared.
But this guy this monster he had it all.
Arcadia was the only one who didn’t seem as surprised as the rest. It is as if she knew to expect something absurd, but still, the magnitude of absurd was unexpected. Still, she gathered her wits and said. “You don’t have the talent for Magitech yet and your level is too low anyway. You cannot regain your old body, but a new one is not possible yet either.”
Somnus glanced at her coldly. As before, the numbers did not mean anything to him, but learning about his skills certainly gave him an understanding of his arsenal, even though he did not understand the basic principles governing it.
“How do I obtain Magitech?” Somnus asked.
“You’d have to learn a Magitech Engineer job from the Imperial Academy. That requires you to be level 50 at least, otherwise they won’t teach you. You could also try learning it on your own,” Arcadia explained.
“How do I learn Magitech on my own?” Somnus asked.
“You’d have to do what the Engineers do, I guess. You’d probably have to shape Spellstone, or create magic alloys and fortify them with Formations and Arrays, but acquiring the materials costs a lot of money and we are poor.”
Somnus contemplated the words and finally decided that getting level 50 was easier than the latter. After all, he got just short of 1000 levels when he killed a God. He only had to find another God to kill or
He glanced towards the monsters in the back of the chamber and smiled cruelly.
