Reincarnation: I Am The Boss - chapter 27
“Put this Nightwalker Cloak on. It will save you a lot of trouble along the way.” DeepSea took a black cloak out from her bag and gave it to Mohai.
DeepSea did not have a Goddess Contract, so she only signed a normal employment contract with Mohai who would have to travel along with her party.
Mohai nodded and put the cloak on.
The Nightwalker Cloak did not have any buff or extra stats. It was just a costume that was sold in every major city at the price of 1 gold.
Equipped with the Nightwalker Cloak, a player could move undetected during the night. In the near future, it became an essential item that almost all players would get. Even if it was not used at night, wearing it during the day would envelop one in a black aura which seemed really cool.
When hundreds of thousand players wore it and marched together, it was quite a spectacle.
At this stage, there were not many players who could simply offer an item that was worth 1 gold. Mohai once again believed DeepSea’s background was unusual.
Mohai was wrapped in black when he put the Nightwalker Cloak on. One would not be able to tell he was a bandit if one did not look at him straight in the face.
The cloak was really a good item. Mohai originally planned to get one for himself since it was convenient to don the cloak during certain night operations.
The round trip would take more than half a day, so he told his goons to patrol the den before he followed DeepSea’s party to the Magma Zone.
More and more players had entered the Monolith Stronghold for leveling, so there were a lot of player parties along the way. Many of them spared a curious glance at Mohai who was in the Nightwalker Cloak.
Mohai was taller than other players and his presence easily turned heads.
It was already the third day of the game. Players who focused on leveling would already reach Level 8 to 9, if not 10. A Level 10 bandit leader was definitely a delicious target in the players’ eyes.
If not for the Nightwalker Cloak, a lot of problems would have popped up along the way.
After more than 20 minutes later, the party finally got through the Monolith Stronghold and entered the Magma Zone.
The Magma Zone was a land painted in fiery red while the ground had cracks with lava flowing underneath. The lava would spew from the cracks from time to time and smoke rumbled fiercely around it.
If a player accidentally stepped on the spewing lava, continuous burn damage that would decrease his or her HP based on the maximum value would be inflicted.
As for the Magma Cave, where the Magma Golem was located, the environment within the cave was much harsher than outside. No players could venture into the cave for now or the foreseeable future.
At the edge of the Magma Zone, a party of a hundred players was waiting for DeepSea.
When DeepSea and her party arrived, the young Hunter, who was the leader of his party, welcomed her with all smiles. “You are finally here, DeepSea.”
‘Is that MoonInMirror of the Playboy Guild?’ Mohai looked asquint at the young hunter.
The name “Playboy” alone attracted disgust from a lot of honest players. In the future, a lot of male players would hate the guild because there were quite a number of players from the guild who would steal other players’ girls.
Playboy was not even among the top 10 guilds of the game, but their name was widely known in the game.
Many rich young men in Playboy were willing to spend a fortune to chase the girls, and some of their methods won immense fondness from a lot of female players.
There were all kinds of people in the game. A portion of players from Playboy was known for their despicable means when stealing other people’s girls, thus the guild had a mixed reputation.
Mohai barely had any contact with Playboy in his previous life, so he did not ask or care about what the guild did.
To begin with, they were not the same kind of people, and everyone had their own way of playing the game. Men of different principles would never work together, so since the guild never crossed his path, Mohai did not bother to find out either.
However, he had read a lot of scandals about this guy, MoonInMirror, back in the virtual community. In five years, this playboy would change at least seven female partners and that was just on the surface. Beneath the surface, no one knew how many girlfriends he secretly had.
Judging from the b*stard’s gaze, MoonInMirror was obviously targeting DeepSea.
‘This b*stard…’ Mohai was thinking whether or not to push the b*stard down into the lava while he was not looking and burn him to death.
There were some deeper crevices in the Magma Zone, and if a player fell in and failed to climb up in time, he would be burned to death alive.
However, given DeepSea’s personality, MoonInMirror would be sentenced to death within the first contact, so his efforts would only go to waste.
It was better for Mohai to stay put and keep an eye out first. If the pervert tried to do something fishy, he would teach him a lesson.
Behind MirrorInMoon were two more young rich men who started discussing MirrorInMoon’s efforts and DeepSea’s presence upon her arrival.
“Yo, what a beautiful lady with a mature presence!”
“No wonder MirrorInMoon is so active. He’s even called a hundred experts from his guild to help her in just an occupation-changing mission. Even I can’t resist her charm.”
“Your assumption might be wrong this time. We weren’t summoned here just to help MoonInMirror to pick the girl up. It was actually a collaboration between her and DancingSandstorm and our guild is actually benefiting from it,” said WindTraveller, one of the young men in their party.
“No way! Who’s that woman?” The two young men looked at WindTraveller in shock.
Playboy might not be as rich as the three major guilds, but there were some rich players among them, so money was not a major motivation to them.
“I don’t know. Not even MoonInMirror knows, but after he saw that beautiful woman, he volunteered to join and lead the party.” WindTraveller shrugged. DancingSandstorm actually wanted him to lead at first, but MoonInMirror had stepped in and took his place instead.
MoonInMirror was actually a core member of Playboy, so DancingSandstorm did not say anything or reject his voluntary action. It was a matter of the number of players in the party.
“We are ready here. Let’s go.” DeepSea only briefly nodded at MoonInMirror’s passionate welcome.
“Great! Everyone, let’s move out!” MoonInMirror waved at his party and led them away.
A party of a hundred players started to move out in an organized fashion.
“So, is this the monster that you hired to help?”
While MoonInMirror was walking beside DeepSea, he suddenly took a step forward towards Mohai.
First of all, he was really curious about Mohai. Secondly, he just wanted a topic to strike a conversation about with DeepSea.
The hired bandit leader played an important role in this operation, so using him to start a topic with DeepSea was a decent option.
To MoonInMirror’s surprise, the bandit leader threatened him, “What are you looking at? I’ll slap you to death!”
“Hehehe…” The two female players in DeepSea’s party giggled when they heard what Mohai said.
“What are you guys giggling at? You’re being rude!” DeepSea turned around and criticized the two ladies although even she had a faint smile on her face.
When she turned back around, the faint smile was gone as if nothing had happened. She spoke to MoonInMirror, “Don’t mind him. Unlike us players, it’s normal for him to be hostile at you. Why don’t I leave the party so that he won’t bother you with such unpleasant words anymore?”
Origin did not limit how many players were allowed in a party. After DeepSea and her party of 12 arrived, they joined Playboy’s party of a hundred players. Otherwise, MoonInMirror would not have understood what Mohai said.
“No, no. It’s better for you to stay in the party, DeepSea. Otherwise, he might be mistaken as a hostile monster.”
The bandit leader was just a monster, one that MoonInMirror could kill anytime.
After being threatened by Mohai and making a fool of himself in front of the ladies, MoonInMirror was not happy about it, but if he insisted on arguing with the monster, it would only embarrass himself more, so he consoled himself in his heart.
As for asking DeepSea to leave the party, no matter how he looked at it, it was not a wise choice. Only an idiot would make her leave the party.
Beside DeepSea was the little girl with the twin ponytails. After she heard what MoonInMirror said, she rolled her eyes. She then looked up at DeepSea, rubbing her eyes with one hand while tugging DeepSea’s dress with the other and saying, “Mother Sea, I’m sleepy. Can you carry me?”
‘Mother…Sea? Is this little girl her child?!’
MoonInMirror felt like he was struck by lightning as the vast amount of information was too overwhelming for him to respond in time.
