Reincarnation: I Am The Boss - chapter 28
Having a child was not a problem, but having a child meant having a husband, and that was a problem.
Playboy did not have a lot of rules in them. If they were able to get other people’s girls or break a pair of lovebirds up, it would be proof of their charms. In short, it was an honor for those playboys.
However, targeting people’s wives or mothers and destroying families was a taboo. It was a forbidden act in the guild, and once exposed, the member would be expelled permanently.
As Playboy’s bottom line, it was the main reason why the guild did not become the public enemy despite being resentful.
As an expert in picking girls up, MoonInMirror’s perception was exceptional. Just when he started to feel conflicted, he sharply noticed the little girl, Ruri, and the two other female players in the party showed a tinge of delight in their gaze. At that moment, he knew he had been fooled.
“What a cute little girl.” MoonInMirror smiled without showing any concern, trying to imply to the girls that he had not fallen for it.
“She’s my relative’s child.” DeepSea smiled and picked Ruri up.
Ruri leaned on DeepSea’s shoulder and angrily clenched her fists at the two female players behind DeepSea. If not for their lousy acting, she would have succeeded!
The rule of never targeting those who were married did not only apply in the game, it was also an unspoken rule in the virtual community. In order to drive the flies away, Ruri always played mother and daughter with DeepSea in front of strangers just so she could destroy the men’s fantasies about DeepSea.
MoonInMirror was undoubtedly deterred, but Mohai was even more shocked.
He had never heard of DeepSea mentioning anything about Ruri in the past, so he almost thought that it was real. If it were true, DeepSea’s sudden disappearance would have been explainable as well.
“Ms. DeepSea, we must hurry up. It seems like someone is making their way to our destination as well. If I’m not mistaken, they must also be going after the Bovella Fire Stone,” said WindTraveller as he walked over.
“Sure, let’s make haste.” DeepSea nodded.
Accepting Bovella’s occupation-changing mission was not easy, but it was not the only way.
“Is someone trying to beat us? Don’t worry, DeepSea! With us here, no one can snatch the Bovella Fire Stone from you!” MoonInMirror’s eyes gleamed as he thought that it would be a great opportunity to win her fondness.
The party pressed on forward. They skipped every unnecessary battle with the monsters along the way. Playboy was experienced at this. The faster players in the party were responsible for luring the monster away while the rest made it through. Then, the players would ditch the monster and regroup with the rest.
The party was able to move a lot quicker with this strategy.
However, when the party had to go through a certain monster-infested area, they would have to engage in battle.
The monsters at the outer area of the Magma Zone were around Levels 10 to 12. They were not ridiculously powerful, but since they were all fire elementals, all the attacks from the monsters would inflict continuous damage, thus the consumption for the battle was higher than usual. A normal party would find it hard to press forward due to the lack of potions and supplies.
Mohai had a quick glance at all the members of Playboy. They were loaded with potions, and whenever they felt pressured in the battle, they would chuck a vial of potion down their throats without a second thought.
Well-equipped and exhibiting decent techniques, they were considered the elites of the guild. The tough monsters in the Magma Zone only slowed the party down a bit.
20 minutes later, another party with even more party members appeared before Playboy.
“The Elemental Tower?!” WindTraveller looked sour when he had a closer look at the party in front of them. It was obvious that the opposite group had waited for DeepSea and company to arrive.
“HundredLivesAsMan!” MoonInMirror looked even worse when he saw the leader of the opposite party. He had just bragged about himself in front of DeepSea, but now a tough opponent had appeared in front of him.
“Yo, isn’t this Master Moon? What are you doing in this goddamned burning land? Shouldn’t you be picking girls up elsewhere? Oh wait, now I see! No wonder you are here. I’ll applaud you for your spirit!”
Standing in front of the Elemental Tower’s party was a rugged and buff Warrior who looked a little shabby. On his back was a black greatsword and he was gawking at MoonInMirror.
While he teased MoonInMirror, he scanned DeepSea and realized the motivation behind MoonInMirror’s actions.
“What are you doing here, HundredLivesAsMan?” WindTraveller skipped the chatter and questioned HundredLivesAsMan and his party from the Elemental Tower.
“Hahaha, straightforward as usual. Windy, you shouldn’t stay in a guild without a future. Come over to the Elemental Tower. You are wasting your life there. The Elemental Tower is where you should belong!” HundredLivesAsMan guffawed loudly, seeming to be a familiar acquaintance with WindTraveller.
“HundredLivesAsMan, don’t you dare cross the line!” bellowed MoonInMirror as he stepped up.
Trying to headhunt one of Playboy right in front of their face was an insult, one that Playboy could not tolerate!
“Tsk! I ‘ll try not to be calculative with you since Windy is here. Let me make this straight, similar to you people, we are here for the Bovella Fire Stone! Don’t call this a bully or first-come, first-served bullsh*t. Let our strength talk instead. If you people can wipe us out, the Bovella Fire Stone is yours. But don’t blame me for being straightforward. While our party might be bigger than yours, even if there are only half of us, you people won’t stand a chance. My advice is to give up and turn around so that you don’t die for nothing. Don’t forget that from Level 10 onwards, dying will decrease your XP!”
HundredLivesAsMan grinned ferociously as he swung his black greatsword and plunged it into the ground. His battle intent was overflowing.
WindTraveller and MoonInMirror did not respond well. In fact, no one would after hearing what HundredLivesAsMan said, but this big b*stard was known for his ferocity and he was a battle maniac.
“My, my, Hundred, don’t be so fierce. Why must you always resolve things with brute strength?” A scrawny Sorcerer came out from the party of the Elemental Tower.
“StreetRoamingRat!” WindTraveller and MoonInMirror reacted bitterly when they saw the man.
StreetRoamingRat was known for his wretched personality, and when coupled with HundredLivesAsMan, they would be a pain in the *ss.
‘So, is this the Elemental Tower?’
Mohai was sizing up HundredLivesAsMan and StreetRoamingRat under his hood.
The Elemental Tower had always been one of the top 10 guilds in Huaxia and was considered one of the most mysterious guilds. There was never a consistent measurement of their strength.
Some said that the Elemental Tower’s strength was comparable to the three major guilds, and a lot of players agreed with that speculation. However, the Elemental Tower themselves had never shown off their strength. They always lay low in the public eye, so it was difficult for people to pinpoint how powerful they really were.
Mohai had never come across the Elemental Tower before, so he was not familiar with the higher-ups and the experts of the guild.
The appearance of HundredLivesAsMan and StreetRoamingRat, plus more than 150 members from their party, had frightened the players from Playboy that had a dozen fewer players.
Mohai had never joined a guild battle before, so he was unclear about what would happen, but these people knew. In the past, the Elemental Tower barely lost a guild battle of any scale, except against the three major guilds, especially when they had the advantage of numbers and had a battle maniac like HundredLivesAsMan. No matter how it turned out, Playboy would not stand a chance against the Elemental Tower.
Along the way, Mohai had gotten the names of the two female players beside DeepSea. One of them was LilYa and the other was LilPiggy. LilPiggy’s face was slightly rounder and she was complaining to LilYa, “Remember what I said before? It’s not a wise choice to work with them.”
“It can’t be helped. They are the only ones available in Guggenheim. We can’t go to the three major guilds either since they will never agree to help us. They might even turn on us and complete the mission themselves,” answered LilYa whose face was a bit sharper.
“What’s your decision? Are we going to fight or not? If you are too cowardly to fight, get going! If you are bold enough, let’s start right now!” HundredLivesAsMan’s vigorous battle intent made him look fierce as he was eager to start a fight.
WindTraveller looked asquint at DeepSea. If he saw her showing any intention of making a move, he would not want to be HundredLivesAsMan’s opponent either.
However, DeepSea was not moved by the taunt as if HundredLivesAsMan was not even there. WindTraveller forced himself to put on a calm expression and said, “Fight! We are all Level 10 and we are similarly equipped, so you guys might not be the victor here!”
Right before the battle broke out, WindTraveller shouted at the party channel in an attempt to raise his party’s morale, “Prepare to engage! It’s just a little disadvantage, but we can still win this! The Elemental Tower is powerful, but we are the elites of Playboy! No one here is a coward! The big boss Sandstorm has given the word. We will all be rewarded if we return triumphantly!”
“You said that we might not be the victor? Hahaha, I don’t want to be arrogant, but only half of us will fight. The other half will stand still and you can beat them however you want to! If you can win us, we will step down peacefully and we won’t revive on the spot to cause more troubles!” HundredLivesAsMan guffawed loudly.
Infuriated by the sneer, WindTraveller shouted and gave the order to attack, “Charge! Don’t hold back! Show them what we have!”
More than a hundred members from Playboy were also infuriated. In fact, not only the elites of the guild were infuriated, but even a commoner would be enraged.
“Hehe, do it!”
A sinister smile appeared on StreetRoamingRat’s face. He waved his hand and a dozen [Fireballs] sprung out from the Elemental Tower’s party.
‘I knew it.’
Move grabbed DeepSea’s hand and pulled her to his side when the [Fireballs] were flung over.
Kaboom! Kaboom! Kaboom!
The [Fireballs] landed on Playboy’s party and bright fiery lights flashed all over the place.
Damage counters of three digits and above popped above the players’ heads when they were struck, and in the next moment, they transformed into the white light of death.
“What happened?!” WindTraveller and MoonInMirror were horrified.
It was just a simple [Fireball] attack, yet it had almost wiped out Playboy’s party of more than a hundred players!
