Reincarnation of the Cheater - Chapter 31:Keeper's Eye
“Huh?” Running down the stairs and out of the Inn I see everyone waiting at the entrance with Finn.
“We guessed you would be late so we gave you an earlier time. Since it was getting close to the actual time we came to get you.” Rose explains as she walks up to me with the others.
“So that’s why Finn is here.” I say understanding why Finn is with them. The way he is dressed shows he is probably going to come with us.+
“He is Silvia’s date tonight so don’t cling to him too much.” Elaine says as she puts her arm in front of me and stops me from getting close to him. Wow, no need to be protective I just wanted to speak with the man not marry him.
As Silvia sees me walking out of the Inn she says, “Alright let’s head out then. I have everything set up so just follow me.”
“Hey, Bell sorry but it looks like I’m joining in on your dinner date tonight. I like your tuxedo, I didn’t know you were rich.” Finn says as he waves to me.
“It’s fine, the more the merrier. I’m not rich by the way, I just had a lucky encounter and now I’m the proud owner of a tuxedo.” I answer. There is no way this dude is that dense right. Complimenting me, please tell me he complimented Silvia as well. Looking over at Silvia she shakes her head as I lose all faith in Finn.
“Can I talk to Finn alone? We’ll follow right behind you guys.” I ask. Somehow sensing what I’m trying to imply Silvia approves and they walk a little ahead of us.
“Finn, what do you think of Silvia?” I ask testing his reaction. Only to get the dense reply of,
“She looks nice.” he says as looks her over.
“And did you tell her that when you met up?” Upon hearing my question Finn thinks to himself and then seems to have come up with something. Jesus, he needs more stats in Intelligence, hell maybe even Wisdom.
“No, I think I should wait until later. She asked to talk after Dinner so I will probably say it then. I need to ask you something though.” he answers after thinking through it a little.
“Alright, what did you want to talk about then?” I say getting to the point.
“You’ve been getting stronger pretty fast recently so I thought it would be a good idea to train you, maybe take you to a dungeon that isn’t for beginners.” he says with a proud smile on his face as if all my growth is due to him. Bastard, did you even teach me anything?
“That didn’t take too long did you get to finish whatever conversation you were having?” Silvia says as she notices us catching up.
“Yeah, were good. How far away is The Melting Pot?” I answer.
“It’s in the inner area so we have some time, we need to enter the inner gate though so we might have to go through a search by the guards.” Silvia says answering my question.
“That’s fine as long as there aren’t any problems.” I say putting my hands behind my head and following along. As we continue to walk we eventually see an inner wall, this inner wall stuff kinda reminds me of how the walls were separated in Attack on Titan. As we wait in the short line it comes to be our turn.
“I need some type of identification.” the guard says with a bland voice. Yikes, he seems to be burnt out.
“Are adventurer cards okay?” Silvia asks as she hands over all of our cards.
“That’s fine as well, just know that someone in your party must be at least C rank to enter.” he says with a monotone voice. It’s like listening to a robot, looking closely he does have bags under his eyes as well as a tired look on his face,
Upon quickly checking all of the adventurer cards he comes to mine only to stop as his expression change and then quickly changes back as he hands them back to Silvia.
“You can pass.” he says as he lets us through. After we walk through I still feel as if someone is keeping an eye on me. I wonder if I offended anyone?
“Bell, I don’t know why but those guys have their attention on you.” Finn says in a low voice.
“I know, but I don’t know why they are keeping track of me. I haven’t really talked to anyone you know, I was focused on not dying by the monsters or in the dungeon.” I say wondering who it is that has them keep an eye on me.
“Has anything happened in the dungeon?” Finn asks as we continue to walk through the less busy streets.
“There were some thugs who thought I was easy prey so they followed me only to not leave the dungeon ever again.” I answer after thinking for some time. I barely even remembered them, I probably wouldn’t have if I didn’t take my time to even try.
“Did they have anything on them that showed who they were?” Finn says.
“Not that I remember, I got rid of them and their belongings immediately.” I answer remembering the fight, that was the first time I got to use lostvayne’s inherent ability “Physical Clone”.
“Then they might not have been of any importance so there should be another reason they are keeping an eye on you.” Rose says as she joins into the conversation.
“Save it guys, we’re here.” Silvia says as she points to a shop in the shape of a giant pot.
