Reincarnation of the Cheater - Chapter 32:The Melting Pot
“We’re here.” Silvia says as the building comes to view. The building which is built like a cooking pot from earth. The rounded walls and the dark paint make it a complete copy from the other world. Did the hero build this himself? Also, there is a long ass line in the front.
“Do we have to wait in that line?” I asked pointing towards the line of people dressed in a variety of colored dresses and various tuxedo copies not as good as mine though. The line was wrapped around the far corner and probably even farther.
“No, those are people hoping to get in without either an invitation or a reservation. They wait here in line due to the special properties of the building. Since we have a reservation we walk over to that guy.” Silvia says looking towards the line wrapping the corner while pointing at the butler with a line of a couple people in it.
As we walk over to the shorter line the butler has the others follow him inside as he seats them. When the butler comes back alone he looks at us and asks in a courteous voice. “Do you have a reservation with us?”
Silvia hands over the reservation as the butler look it over and activated some kind of skill as his eyes become shrouded with magic and he rips the reservation and leads us inside with a smile. As we follow him through the doors the inside is way bigger than I thought, I’m honestly surprised that the inside is this big, did they use magic to make it larger or something? The walls are just like modern-day Earth. The decorations are Japanese though, I guess the cliche that Japanese made about them being heroes are actually true.
Seeing my expression Silvia laughs and explains, “The Hero was able to use all magic, he made this building and throughout the years he expanded it when it was needed. Eventually, he passed on the building’s ownership to his children and since then all owners have to be descendants of the Hero.”
“That sounds pretty cool. Magic is seeming more and more interesting to me.” I answer while following the butler through a door marked reservations. I hope this room has a different design though, I personally don’t know about Japanese decorations so it feels foreign.
The butler activated his magic and had it cover himself as he chanted a short incantation before opening it. As we walk through the door the first thing I noticed was the designs were more traditional Japanese rather than the common ones outside, everything in here looks to be very well made. The room is smaller than the other one but there are a couple of people eating in here, there are 4 groups if you include us and everyone is well spaced out.
“Here is your reserved room, please take a seat and look through the menu as the waiter get you water.” the butler says handing out menus to us along with a waiter.
Taking a quick look at the others in the room they have on flashy clothes, covered in jewelry, and one of them has a haughty laugh as they look at us taking a seat.
As I sit down the headache starts getting worse while I can feel my head throb at set intervals. As I begin debating on if I want to use my healing card or not Finn speaks.
“Bell, are you alright? You don’t look too good. Is something wrong?” Finn asks as he puts his hand on my head and activates something. As he does that a wave of his Qi flows through me and cools down my body as the throbbing in my head slows down and eventually stops altogether.
He had a shocked expression when he finished surveying my body with his Qi.
“Thanks, Finn. I think I’m better now.” I say as Finn takes his hand off my head.
“I looked around your body for the cause… Your mind has an array in it, with my current strength I can only determine that there was an array. I don’t know what array it is or what it is for, I can’t even get rid of it. Sorry for not being strong enough to help you.” Finn says with guilt in his voice.
“It’s fine. I can wait for you to grow stronger to get rid of it, at least you can suppress the pain it gives me. Thank you for that it really helped me.” I said quickly trying to make him not feel bad. I can’t really blame him though, I was the one who had this array in me without me knowing about it in the first place.
“Hey come on, let’s order. Don’t let that ruin the mood I’m fine now.” I say trying to get a good mood started again. Everyone was looking at me with a worried face as I shrugged it off. If I want to continue this night I have to ignore what happened. Looking at the menu I notice that every item is in a language I can’t read, it looks like Japanese but I could never read that so I can’t make anything out of it.
With a confused expression, I asked, “How are we supposed to order, I don’t know the language?”
“It was the language from the Hero’s homeland, no one can understand it as the Hero never passed it on, the owners kept it that way as it was done by the Hero himself, but they do have pictures though so that’s what people usually go off of.” Rose says as she sits there not looking at the menu.
Curious about why she hasn’t touched her menu I ask. “Aren’t you going to choose what you want to order?”
Hearing my question she smiles and answers, “I’ve been here before so of course I already know what’s good to eat. I want Ramen, it was the Hero’s favorite food and after many months of hard labor, the Hero reproduced eventually after many fails.”
As Rose shows off her knowledge an arrogant voice comes from behind us.
“I like it when a girl knows her stuff. You come, I’ll give you the pleasure of eating with me William Von Ratsburg.” The arrogant voice coming from behind us was from a short chubby man who is dressed just like a noble from a play on Wallstreet. The man looked normal but his body shape really stood out, the only thing that comes to mind when trying to describe him is round.
