Reincarnation of the Cheater - Chapter 44:Goblin's Rage (7)
As I’m paying attention to the notifications from the system and being disappointed with only getting half the experience I hear a shout from Shin who is behind us.
“Watch out, there’s another Goblin Assassin!” Shin yells at us as he tries to rush over to help us out.
Hearing Shin’s shout I turn my head and look behind me where immediately after a shadow engulfs me and I notice a dagger almost at my throat.
“Time Stop”
In a panic, I immediately activate the skill Time Stop and the world goes silent. The dagger that was inching over faster than I’ve ever seen before stopped right before piercing my throat. The Goblin floating midair with a smirk on its face as it thought it has gotten its prey. I can see why that Goblin Assassin was stronger than the Goblin Necromancer, he wasn’t the only Goblin Assassin and he was being used as bait. If he went for Finn or Shin in this situation I don’t think I would be able to save them without stopping time as well. Just thinking about being fooled by something so simple really makes me angry without a limit. You thought you would be able to pick us off you bastard. I feel stupid for getting played in the hands of a mere Goblin. I’m gonna make this Goblin regret trying this on me. After some thinking, I decided that the best way to see this Goblin despair in this situation would be to make him think his plan worked only to be hit with the cold hard truth and then have his own plan turn on him in the last moment.
Taking LostVayne out of the inventory I run my hand over the blade and leave a physical clone in place as I surround the Goblin and have all clones activate stealth while we wait for the stopped time to resume.
Time resumes and the Golbin Assassin’s face doesn’t change from the evil smirk as his dagger finishes crossing the inch of space that would have been my end and finally, the dagger ended up piercing the skin of the clone as blood sprays and the dagger continues to go farther in the jugular. Seeing that the attack went through both Finn and Shin’s heart drop. The feeling of not being able to protect someone in a dungeon even though they cleared this one too many times to count. The feeling was like a wave smashing into them.
Seeing their expressions I decided to quickly stab the smirking Goblin Assassin in all directions with all my clones while releasing my stealth after they all connected. As LostVayne pierced through the Goblin Assassin his expression changes from shock to fury seeing that I used his trap to bait him. One copy of LostVayne pierced through his kidney while the others sliced through his limbs to make sure he can’t fight back. The Goblin Assassin’s arms fall to the floor along with its legs as gravity comes into effect and causes him to land on top of all his limbs. Blood splatters even more than it did at first when he lands and the blood continues to flow out of all the open wounds.
Watching the Golbin Assassin’s expression change from a smirk to shock and then fury, followed by the look of absolute despair gave me shivers throughout my entire body. The only way I could describe it would be as the best feeling in the world. Just knowing how he set up an elaborate trap and set his teammate up as bait only to work against him and be one of the leading factors to such an end gives me an indescribable feeling.

“Bell, what happened I thought you…” Finn asks but then stops himself.
“Sorry about that, the second I heard Shin’s yell I left a clone in my place while I used blink to teleport behind and then surrounded him with all my clones while all of us were in stealth, I didn’t want my plan to fail so I didn’t get to show you all that I was alright and that’s why you couldn’t see me.” I answer while feeling bad. They saved me from having to experience having my neck pierced so I feel bad for lying to them.
Silence fills the room and the guilt eats into my soul for what feels like an eternity.
“Let’s head to the next floor before they can set up a trap for us.” Shin says trying to change the topic.
“Before we head on to the Ninth Floor let’s rest and we talk more about some strategy. The next monster is always the same one so we have to tell you about it and how to counter its skills as well as how it fights.” Finn says while taking a seat on a rock nearby.
“What kind of monster is on the Ninth Floor?” I ask curiously since we never had to have a strategy meeting before. Is this monster so dangerous? Are its skills so dangerous that we have to be warned beforehand so we don’t fall into them unexpectedly? This really makes me wonder what’s down there if it heavily relies on those skills than I don’t have anything to worry about since I have the All Status Ailments Resistance skill.
