Reincarnation of the Cheater - Chapter 51:Heartfelt Gratitude
[Secret Achievement Unlocked: Heartfelt Gratitude]
[Achievement Description: Gratitude from the depths of the heart is the biggest reward you can receive.]
[Reward: 1 Cheat Ticket]
Standing there in silence from the notifications I decide to ask the system, “Why did I receive a Cheat Ticket for a minor secret achievement?”
[Upon review of how the achievement has been received as well as the person who gave the Heartfelt Gratitude and the situation it has been deemed worthy of a Cheat Ticket. The experience earned from the Goblin Lord was also used to increase the reward as well.]
‘Turn back on Auto Leveling, please.’
[Congratulations you have reached level 44.]
[You currently have 1490 Experience left.]
‘Well, that must have been a lot of experience saved up.’
After taking care of the Goblin Lord and receiving his gratitude I decide to head out and use word magic to return back to the basement where Finn and Shin were waiting for me. Seeing me come back in one piece they’re happy and eventually question me.
“So what happened? Why did you stay behind?” Finn asks as Shin nods while standing behind him.
“I used the same thing from the Goblin King, I had a talk with him before that though. We talked about how the lower floor bosses had unusual skills. He said that the mana from the apple was the problem after all as well as some outside help by the mana rising in the area.” I decide to hide the incident about the Immortal, not because I didn’t trust them but because I would have to explain my skill stealing as well and I don’t want to be hunted for it.
“So it was coincidences stacked up giving a bad outcome. The increase in mana increased more than just monster activity huh, we’ll have to increase guards at the gate and investigate the Dungeon further.” Shin said as he puts his hands behind his head and we leave Finn’s basement and head to the guild.
At the guild, it was like a regular day. Adventurer’s coming and going, people searching their adventurer rank mission board. Walking up to the front desk we’re told that the guild master is busy so we have to wait for permission. As we sit around and wait the guild master comes down himself and grabs us as we head back into his office. In his office, the guild master cleaned off some room on his desk so he can write up our reports.
“Bell, explain your side first.” The guild master took my report first and said I could leave so I went to the receptionist’s desk to ask for some information.
“Hello, what can I help you with today?” The male receptionist asks with a friendly tone.
“Hello, I’m looking to go to a book store or a Library. Are there any in this city?” I ask the male receptionist as he looks puzzled and then answers my question.
“What about the inner Library?” I asked curious of it since he directed me towards the outer one.
“To access the inner Library you need to either be of nobility or permission from an Earl.” the receptionist answers as he hands me the directions on a sheet of paper.
“Thank you for your help.” I thank him and head out following his directions.
As I follow the directions on the paper I eventually finish them and come upon an average church with a cross that emits light. I walk up to the church admiring the detailed carvings, I wish to meet whoever made these carvings they look like they can even rival the Ancient Greek and Roman creations.
‘He said it’s across the street so…’ I walk I turn around and there is a huge building that has a sign that literally says “Library” while also having another sign with a book on it.
Walking into the Library there is a list of rules on the wall outside.
[1. No talking loud.]
[2. No checking out books.]
[3. 1 Silver Coin Fee.]
…
There are more rules but they are mainly the same as Earth’s Libraries so I head in.
As I walk inside the interior is filled with books and shelves. I walk up to the front desk to pay the admission fee while taking a silver coin out of my inventory.
“Hello, I would like to read some books.” Isay while putting the silver coin on the desk.
“Yes, I’ve received payment so go ahead. Here is your ticket, it will glow when your time is up. After 1 hour you will be reminded to either renew your time available here or leave the Library.” The Librarian tells me while handing me a piece of paper. I put the paper in my pocket and look around the section labeled world history. Reading through the book at top speed since my intelligence stat has raised to 96 after level up to level 44.
After about 40 minutes pass I run into a book labeled “The Goddess Gaia.” The Godded Gaia is the original goddess who was born with the creation of the universe. The one true God who governs everything but one day she was infuriated by humans. The humans had to idea what they did to offend their God but in return for offending her they could no longer see their status, use experience to level up, and they had to create technology to advance their classes. All the “Humans” who had reached godhood had abandoned their fellow humans and left the plane of existence. Thus the humans had no contact with the so-called gods until one day an envoy came down out of the sky and introduced himself as an envoy of the God of Light and that he would like to set up a church and spread the God of Light’s teachings. Soon followed by an envoy of the God of Fire, and then followed by an envoy of the God of Magic, followed by an envoy of the God of Space and Time. This continued until one day an envoy of the God of Plague showed up and set up a cult.
