Reincarnation of the Cheater - Chapter 57:Buying Land
As we approach the city and enter through the gate Finn talks.
“You mentioned that you were looking for a house right? I’ll wait outside while you complete the quest report.” Finn says tells me to go inside without him.
“Alright, I’ll be right back.” I answer while turning around and heading towards the guild door.
Walking inside the guild it’s the same as normal. People sitting in a group drinking, laughing, and overall they’re all being rowdy. It’s not even 4 in the afternoon and these guys are already drinking.
Walking up the line for turning in quests the receptionist sees me and asks, “What can I help you with?”
“I’m here to turn in my quest, I believe it was called “Orc Hunt”. I’m here to report that the village was already destroyed and all of the Orcs are dead.” I answer reporting to the receptionist as he writes down all of the information as I continue to describe the events that happened.
“I got there and everything was destroyed, the Orcs had a hideout in a cave nearby but it was under an illusion. The Orcs were lead by an Orc Illusionist as he tried to cast an illusion on the surroundings. There were 50 Orcs and all of the Orcs all died in the attack. Any bodies I found were buried.” I continue to describe the events as best as I could.
As the receptionist continues to write at a breakneck speed he stops and looks up to me.
“Yes. If that is all here is the reward.” The receptionist says as he puts the report away and hands me the reward according to the number of orcs.
[You have gained 75 Silver Coins.]
The system immediately deposited them into the inventory as I walk out of the guild and find Finn.
“I’ll lead you to the real estate agency that I used to find my house. They keep everything anonymous and won’t leak any details.” Finn says as he takes the lead.
“Sure. I just need a house.” say as I follow closely behind him so I won’t get lost.
As we go throughout the city I follow Finn until he comes to a stop outside of a big building.
“It’s right here.” he says to me and then opens the door and heads inside the big building.
As we walk inside the building an employee comes up to us and greets us.
“Welcome to our real estate agency. How can I help you two today?” he asks.
“We’re looking for a house for him.” Finn says as he points towards me.
“What kind of house are you looking for?” he says after picking up some papers off of a nearby desk.
“Preferably one that kind of isolated and has a lot of land so I can make necessary renovations if needed.” I answer after thinking up a description.
“What’s your budget?” He asks while looking at me.
1 Gold Coin was enough for a family of 4 to live for a month. 350 Gold Coins should be enough to get a large sized property with some extra land. I might be able to make the house into a mansion with tons of specific rooms by expanding it with system points.
“Hmm… there are only 3 properties that are currently available for that amount. One of them is very large but the house is considered haunted so I don’t think you would want that one.” He whispers to himself as he picks up some papers and looks through the properties.
After scanning through the papers for some time he looks back up to me.
“This house here should fit what you are looking for.” he says as he hands me papers relating to the house.
Looking at the papers it seems that the house and description of the land fit perfectly to what I asked for. A large amount of land
“I’ll take it.” I say decisively.
I don’t even need to see the house since I’m replacing it with the system’s house. The house from the system would be brand new anyways. I bought it for 1000 system points so I’m gonna use it no matter what.
“Then please follow me to sign over the property. The house already has some things inside so you are free to keep them or replace them.” he says as he sees my lack of interest in the look of the house. He probably thinks that I’m some rich second generation who likes to spend.
As we finish signing over the deed of the land over to me I take the deed and put it in the system for safe keeping. It should be the safest place that I can find so no one should be able to steal it from me. I had to put a drop of blood on it so there shouldn’t be anyone who can forge it either.
As Finn and I leave the real estate agency he turns to me and says, “Well, I’ll be heading out then. You go check out your house and get comfortable there. If you have any questions you know where to find me.”
“Sure, thanks for helping me out.” I say glad that he didn’t want to come. I didn’t want to explain how the house changed in one day.
As Finn leaves I head to the location of my newly bought house that was provided by the agency. If the house looks bad then I can just replace it with the system house anyways.
While thinking of what types of changes I would want to make to the system house the property comes into view after a 20-minute walk. The house doesn’t look too bad but it looks kinda old and it doesn’t look like anyone really kept good care of it. There aren’t any houses nearby either so I’m not sure if I have any neighbors.
‘Did anyone even want this house in the first place? Why was it so expensive?’ I think to myself as I continue on the road leading to the house. The size of the property reminds me of a farm on Earth. The deed to the property says that it was about 300 acres of land but man there wasn’t anyone on the way here either. Maybe I bought a property in a deserted part of the city?
