- Chapter 56 Chapter 50 ~ Party Expedition 1
Reinvigorated with the feeling of their new armor, they set out to find the skill that is essential to have. It is none other than the [Appraisal] itself. “Remind me again, how do we find that thing?” asked Kurira. Not long after Siola fixes up her gloves, she responded, “A lot. Though, our only option right now is to get it through stealing the Spell Book from other players which impossible since none of them carry an extra book inside their pockets… or farming Night Star Dungeon, though, I need to rank up first. Won’t be much help in this current state.”
Rakuri then asked, “That place has the lowest chance to get it though, we can’t have it for all of us if we do that.”
“Well, we don’t have a choice. Either that or run around and ask every single player if they have [Appraisal] Book or not, and if they have, we’ll have to steal it before they log out.”
After a ponder in her thought, Kurira went to hugged both of them. Grasping Siola’s butt cheeks while Groping Rakuri’s bosom.
“What are you doing?” asked Rakuri, ready to kill her. “…” after a paused, she said, “Hon, you look really scary right now, you know.”
After a slap on her cheeks, she then decided for the team to pursue the farming route.
But first, they need to level up. There is almost nothing good that they can do at low levels and they need to reach at least a master rank to be able to do something that can be considered useful and not a time-waster.
Playing casually, fun and games and all that… is not going to work for the tree. When you’re in it for the professional plays, you have to go all the way.
They have left the kingdom’s ground and went to the forest. The reason why people are not coming here is that there is almost no merit that can be earn in this place. The outside layer of the forest almost has no animals around, and instead, it’s swarmed by monsters. Only in the deeper parts of the forest where you can find food.
The night has almost come, they hastily run deeper inside the forest. Passing by all the low-level enemies in search of the higher-level ones.
And soon they found them.
Swarm of winged ant creatures flew around the many trees on the open ground. Hiding behind a stone, Kurira whispered, “What about that one?”
“Hmm…” Siola responded, “That thing usually ranges from lv. 50 to lv. 120. When they roam around like this, I don’t think we need to worry about running into their mom. Though, we need to quickly finish them before night comes.”
They all afraid of the nights, at least for now, and aside from Siola who is afraid of the darkness. When in the night time, all the creatures are amplified and start a war with each other, any players that swoop in the middle of them are dead meat, unless they’re high level.
“We just need to get to level 40, that means… we need to kill about 200 of them.”
“That’s…” Rakuri’s face hardened, “We don’t have that much time, how about we killed half and retreat? We can come back tomorrow.”
“No,” said Kurira, “We can do it, let’s go.” Hastily unsheathing her weapons, Kurira charged towards them as she put on her winged helmet. “Eh? Wait, now?” Rakuri was baffled, she was totally unprepared. After equipping her fur food on, she gritted her teeth and followed her, “Ngrrr, why are you always be like this!! Stay here, Dola.”
Nodding to her command, Siola stays put while the two do their part.
Watching from the distance as the two slice and dice tens of the ant creatures, level 70 and below are nothing to them, but higher than 90, that’s when troubles start kicking in.
And they can’t tell which one is which.
Siola noticed it before, she should’ve expected it for sure, but when they are charging. The ant creatures are already coming at them, meaning there is no aggro range. She thought to herself, ‘Isn’t it pointless to stay here? They’ll find me sooner or later.’
And so, she decided to step in.
Using [Nimble Movement] and [Blinding Light] at the same time, despite wearing such heavy armor, Kurira managed to stun many of them just by running around and let Rakuri finished them off. Unlike a normal tank like Guardian, Kurira has no Taunt or Battle Cry. So, she had to do this kind of playstyle that she hates the most… Running.
The unaffected ant opened their mouth and about to send many [Piercing Needles] her way, but she quickly raised her hands and activated [Light Flash] it quickly went on cooldown for another 300 seconds. That’s enough for people to boil noodles, eat, and pack it up.
Both the two previous skills are also in cooldown.
The needles were fired at her at a terrifyingly fast speed, but all of them hit their own friends.
One of the unaffected ants from the back charged onward. “Geh, oh right. Let’s try that. Come at me, boy!” holding her ground, she steadied her shield up. When the ant was about to pierce her head with its fangs, Kurira clenched her fist and then parried it away with her shield.
*Bangst*
Her eyes widened, “Holy shit, that actually works!”
The ant was stunned and heavily staggered on the ground. “Realism Mode is the best, baby!!” she jumped at it and then smashed its head, raising her club up again, she swings it down with full might. “Kriiiieeeeeeeeeeeeh!!” screeching as it recovers to the back.
Siola witnessed it. She couldn’t believe that happened. Kurira has no [Parry] Passive Skill, but she still managed to do it. “No way, just how far is the Realism— God, I should stop. Why do I keep repeating this?! This is no longer a game…” her expression hardened, “It’s another fucking world.”
If Kurira can do that, Siola wonders what else can they do even if they don’t have the said skill in their status for it.
Back at the event of PVP, she too also pull out strange moves and even managed to steal the crusader’s sword so easily like taking candy from kids.
Rakuri too also has some odd way to use her skills. Cloaking her daggers with flames. She has done it before with her staff, but that shouldn’t be able to be done since it requires [Flame Control] to be used or [Flame Infusion]. Despite having none of that skill, she managed to do it, and other than that. How she uses her other abilities are also different.
Stomping the ground with [Earth Manipulation], the grounded ants staggered. Then, she activated [Windbolt] to send the cloaked twin daggers in flame straight through their heads. Opening her palm again, spirals of wind was formed in her arms. It’s as if she’s doing martial arts, Rakuri sends her [Windbolt] at the extremely fast speed.
Both were sent directly from her palms, and she’s constantly moving while doing it. With her high intelligence, the [Windbolt] deals a lot more damage than it originally meant to. Though, without Appraisal or the like, no one can able to tell how much she damage she dealt with.
*Bwoosh*
“KRIIIIEeeeeeeehhhh…”
That was one down. She quickly moves on to deal with another.
Siola’s hand starts trembling and she doesn’t know why. Something deep inside her heart is telling her to [Reanimate] that ant. This oddity is something she never felt before. Siola is always able to control herself in a battle to maximize its performance, but this… is truly something new to her. Clenching it tight, and with a stern look in her face, she marched onward to it.
“Dola?! What are you doing here?!!” yelled Kurira, “Didn’t you say these things at lv. 50 minimum? Just stay back and wait, we can handle this!”
Siola is ignoring her, she continued to walk towards it. “Tch, goddamn it. What’s wrong with her? Rakuri, get this one too!” she decided to rush and guard Dola.
Arriving, she looked down at the deceased ant. Drooling as her hands twitched. Dark aura is leaking out from them. She saw it clearly, the smoke coming from the ant’s body, it’s begging for her to stop. Her voice echoed to its heart as she raises her cloaked arm and dragged the smoke out of its corpse, “Ehehehe, come. You… are needed.”
*Woooomph*
Kurira’s eyes widened as she stopped her charged. The ant is slowly floating with a cloud of smoke, and its eyes turning from red straight to purple. Its head slowly molded together and regenerated. “She… succeed?” a crack of grin and laughter came out of her mouth, “Bwahaha, shit, you can really do anything, huh!”
Widening its wing wide, the ant hold its ground and screech, “Kriiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeehh!” with its already terrifying voice, people would get a heart attack if they get jumpscared from it, and now it has now been amplified by a disturbing sound of a draugr.
The creature quickly rushed toward Kurira, she was shocked by it, she thought that it was going to attack her… but it turns out, she only needs to step aside to find out. Mumbling as she stomped the ground, she used [Nimble Movement] and dashed to the side.
“Kriiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeeeeh”
*BAKS*
As it turns out, there was an ant that is also charging at her from the back. The two clashed with the black one holding the top. Its fang pierced through its head, slicing it apart as the ant tries to cut up the undead ant’s fang.
To no avail, the undead ant doesn’t care if it loses its fangs as long as the enemy dies so it can fulfill its one and only duty.
*BAKS*
Ripping it apart, the undead ant emerge victorious with only one fang remained. It opens up her mouth and screech out once again, “Kreeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhkkkkk”
Siola’s eyes widened, “That was… a Battle Cry.”
[Battle Cry] it’s a skill that boosted its user and companions spirit, increasing their stats temporarily while also taunting the enemy for a short period of time. The group of ants turned and quickly charged towards it.
“Hee… it sacrificed itself for me, huh. So sweet of you.” Siola can feel it, the warmth in her heart. It is the same warmth when the first time she went into the Prison Realm and met Ludwig.
Something in her inventory is shaking, it is none other than the [Purgatory Seal]. She was tasked to deliver it to her past body, but why it’s shaking now.
When she took it out, there is nothing happens. She doesn’t know what it means. Approaching the other defeated ant, she raised it back from the dead. As the cloud of smoke appeared on its body, it’s screeching once more and went to join the other that was about to be killed.
Looking fiercely at the group of ants, she gripped the [Purgatory Seal] tightly with waves of anger in her heart.
