Retaliate Heroes Should Be Evil - Chapter 6 Unique Chance
He used his teleportation magic to get us out of here. We were back at the entrance of the dungeon, the big hole.
“Finish what you started, my demon!”
I’ve heard those words before.
Wait, you told me that before.”
“I did? Then things are going better than planned.
The voice you heard wasn’t mine. Apparently hatred is starting to eat your mind, so you better hurry up with your plan.
But remember, demons aren’t immortal. If you disappoint me, I will personally take over your torture in hell.”
Now I was free and could finally retaliate against the others.
But I wasn’t allowed to just rush in and try to kill them all at once. First, I had to learn to fit into this world.
So far, I’ve only known the two cruellest places.
I needed informations of the whereabouts of the heroes.
Finally, I would wait for the right time to execute one after the other as painfully as possible.
The thought alone gave me immense pleasure.
But my appearance didn’t make it easy for me.
If I went into town like this, I wouldn’t even make it through the main gate.
My completely black clothes and the white hair would immediately attract attention.
Of course, no demons were allowed in the kingdom. But that was the price I happily paid.
So I used an illusion spell that would hide my status and create a new one.
From now on I was Lorias Astan, a level 5 merchant.
Nevertheless, the guards looked at me strangely at the checkpoint, but after I could prove my identity, there were no problems.
My first path led me to a guild. Guilds were almost everywhere in online role-playing games, they were the main meeting place for players.
When I looked around the infoboard, a blonde-haired woman spoke to me. She asked me if I’d rather be an adventurer.
With my stature and appearance, nobody would buy that I am really a merchant.
It would also be much easier for adventurers to get information and get to know this world.
So my merchant existence was over and I was now officially an E-rank adventurer.
At S-Rank here were only the strongest, among them many war veterans and former elite soldiers.
To climb up a rank, you had to fulfill quests.
Mostly it was about monster hunting or treasure hunts.
As proof you had to bring a trophy, either a part of the monster or the item they were looking for.
This system was of course completely insecure.
You could just steal the evidence and kill the contractor to claim the reward.
If I could climb up quickly, I would be sure of everyone’s attention and I would be able to work on my plan here in peace for the time being without being attacked.
Over the next few days, I completed as many quests as possible. I destroyed the few thieves without any problems and thus set an exclamation mark. In the guild I was soon only called “The Grim Reaper” because of my brutality and the black clothes.
Just before my promotion to rank B, there was big news.
The primeval dragon “Grim” was sighted on the top of a mountain far away.
He was a former ally of the demon people.
But after the old demon king had died, he turned away from the people and disappeared.
Now he had reappeared in the human realm.
No one really knew why he had returned, but they wanted to get this threat out of the way as quickly as possible.
So the king sent 10 of the “heroes” to kill the dragon.
The perfect opportunity to announce my return from hell.
All I had to do was intercept them, be on the mountain in front of them and destroy them.
I had a pretty risky plan for that.
If this one worked, I’d be unstoppable.
The monsters on the way were fresh meat compared to the monsters in the dungeon. That’s why I was able to complete so many quests.
In total it took me 5 days to arrive at the mountain.
It was an icy area, a heavy blizzard raged on the summit.
Fortunately I was the first one here, now only the dragon had to appear.
Grim was no ordinary dragon. Legend has it that he has existed since the dawn of time. After the humans chased him away, he entered the demon realm. The then demon king became his closest friend. Even after the king died, he stayed in the empire from generation to generation and was loyal to the king.
Until recently Amon ascended the throne, then he turned away from the demons and left the realm in search of a peaceful place.
The reason for his long life was his extremely thick skin. No blade could ever scratch him. Even magic had no effect on him. His skin was like a reflector, every spell casted will be reflected to its user.
I knew the “heroes” didn’t stand a chance against him. Yet I didn’t want to leave him alone the pleasure of killing them all.
Now my plan came into play. Since I myself am a demon, I wanted to convince him to take revenge on mankind with my help. I wasn’t that confident that it would work but I gave it a try. If this wouldn’t work out I had a plan B aswell.
Suddenly, ice blue eyes looked at me from the snow.
“Who dares disturb my peace. Another soul who has a death wish, I guess?”
His black skin and intense eyes conveyed a tremendous malignant aura.
I had to be extremely careful, he mastered all 4 elements of nature. So his attacks were very variable and pretty intense.
His fire was the hottest thing that ever existed.
With his wings, he could almost summon tornadoes.
His presence could shake the earth and his eyes could turn water into ice.
No wonder he’s been around forever.
“I see you’re no ordinary man, though you have the shape of one. Your aura looks familiar, you’re a demon. Since the reign of Amon, you are my enemies, you should know that.”
His expression looked familiar to me. Just like me, he had despair in his eyes.
Seems like Amon screwed up pretty bad with him.
“I can feel hate in your eyes, I don’t know what Amon did to upset you, but be assured I wasn’t sent by him.
I’d rather propose a deal to you. ” (Akito)
“What can a simple demon offer me that deserves my attention?” (Grim)
“I know you’ve been hunted by humans for thousands of years. I offer you my help to take revenge on them.” (Akito)
He started to laugh.
“Listen to yourself, you’re almost talking like Amon. It’s true that I despise humans, yet I’m tired of going into battle. I’m tired of this world spinning in circles so I’m just looking for a place far away from that civilization to live. Besides, you wouldn’t be much help if I wanted to, I could destroy the whole kingdom myself. If arrogance is all you’ve brought, get out of here. It’s an old friend’s favor, so be grateful for that I dont kill you on the spot.”
“Your quiet life will soon be disturbed not only by me. Ten human “heroes” have been sent to kill you. If they don’t make it, more will be sent until you’re dead.” (Akito)
“Even you are smart enough to know they wouldn’t stand a chance against me.” (Grim)
It was pointless. I had to resort to plan B.
No blade could ever hurt him. This legend was told by humans. So it had to mean normal weapons like a sword or a bow or something like that. But he was also in the demon realm, so he might know about shadow blades and be immune to them.
I put everything on this one card. I needed a weapon that could do long-range damage. If I got too close, I’d be dragon food. If it took me too long, all my stamina would be used up and I’d be dead aswell. I assumed because he had not been attacked for a long time and no attack could ever hurt him, he would be inattentive.
I got the perfect idea that would break the deadlock.
“Since you probably won’t find any real peace here, I’ll get you one myself. I’m sorry, but your power is too great, it would be a waste to just let it fade. ”
The next moment I transformed my arm into the “Smith & Wesson 500” revolver. I knew it from a manga, it was currently the strongest handgun.
The bullet actually went trough his skin and heart without any problems.
The astonishment was written all over his face.
“Ho-… How is that possible?! What did you just shoot out of your arm
That a simple demon would kill me. . . Apparently this world can still surprise me. ”
Before he closed his eyes forever, he put on a happy smile.
“I’m sorry, I’m not just simply a demon. But I promise you peace . . . in my death!”
My plan had only just begun. On the way to the mountain I remembered that I still had a hidden talent, which was not directly present in the status.
“Necromancer” would make me his master. But the problem was his level, he didn’t have any, only question marks were visible.
Yet I had to try to summon him with the spell as a servant. For the spell, I needed almost three times my current mana. Mana potions would take too long, the target can only be summoned over a certain period of time.
However, there was one way to carry out the spell.
I took a paralysis essence that prevents the skill “Light Of The Heroes” for a certain amount of time.
Then I slit my wrists and my HP started to sink.
Now it all came down to the right timing.
I waited until my HP had dropped to 10%. After that the skill “Heart Of Will” activated. All attack values were tripled, including, of course, magic attacks. So my mana was tripled for this short amount of time. For the spell I needed 90% of this mana, the remaining 10% should heal my injury as soon as “Light Of The Heroes” would turn on again. According to my calculations, the skill should be working again soon. If not, that would be my death and it would all be over.
Shortly before I lost consciousness, I cast the spell and before I could see the result, I passed out.
Am I really gonna die here? Did my school maths fail? Please work “Light Of The Heroes” and get me out of here.
On the threshold of death, that voice spoke again.
“I’m impressed with your determination. Your risk should be rewarded, after all, we’ve only just begun.”
Who’s that voice? Is it a part of me?
Soon after, I opened my eyes. It had worked, my wounds were healed and my mana was empty.
But there was no trace of the dragon.
Did the spell go wrong? Was he really dead at all?
The pact spell required five times as much mana as the future summoning of the servant.
So I waited until my mana was fully recharged.
I prayed to the heavens and said the formula.
Suddenly a huge shadow rose beside me, taking the shape of a dragon. He had black skin, only his eyes were poison green instead of blue. A contract appeared in my status.
It really worked. Now I had an invincible monster which would serve me without exception and protect me.
All I have to do now is waiting for my victims to arrive.
I started to laugh, my echo sounded through the blizzard.
“Hey, guys, I can’t wait to introduce you to my new friend.”
